? installing a third hard drive in a HPE-210F

The 'how' on HP site alone (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01882178) shows only how to install up to TWO drives.  But HP documentation indicates that there are THREE drive 3.5 "bays. I opened my PC last night and see what I think is the third drive Bay 3.5 ", but we don't know how to install a disc correctly in the Bay of this third party.  I think the third Bay is just to the right of the middle circle in this image: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf-JAVA/Doc/images/c01889249.gif.  Is this correct?  If so, exactly how I properly attached the drive to this place?

Well I have advanced and stumbled across it myself earlier this evening.  After reading the post above (later), I could find these directions:

http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&TaskID=125&prodSeriesId=3793920&prodTypeId=12454&ObjectID=c01035705#c01035705_pmd2

(scroll down for installing a drive in the Bay of drive option)

So, at least, that I was able to confirm what I was doing was correct.  I had to remove part of the plastic inside the front of my HPE-210F for 3.5 HARD disk "(but it was easy and the outside still looks as it did).

  • How to install a third hard drive?

I would like to install a third car need and were apparently hard to remove the drive cage to install the player.  Is there a procedure for accessing this cage?

    Pavilion HPE h8-1220.

BTW, the instructions to add the second drive begin by removing a retaining bar.  This bar does not exist on my machine, although there are the indentations on the chassis to mount.

The section on drives hard pg 2-8 shows a cage which will host three discs.  The drive cage that I have only accomadates two disks (the original 2 TB and an extra drive that I have already installed).  Yes, with this exception, the procedure is clear.  The space for another drive is already filled by a removable media device.  I guess I need a different drive cage.

  • where can I add a third hard drive to my hpe-140f?

I read somewhere that a 3rd HD can be added.  HD cage holds only two disks.

Are there instructions available on how to add a 3rd disc?

    Thank you

    Fiery,

You had the unit apart before and removed the envelope PMD/combination drive Bay to install the 2nd HDD.

The only 2 places available would be the Bay PMD or the 2nd Bay of CD/DVD drive.

The easiest is the 2nd CD/DVD Bay, because it requires only a standard kit of 3.5 to 5.25.

  • Installation of the third hard drive? I have a Pavilion 1090 t.

I have a Pavilion 1090 t and I want to install a third hard drive. I find only two on the motherboard sata ports that are side by side. How can I connect the third sata drive?

    Hello

You can use the back ESATA ports for a hard drive that is in a powered drive ESATA external enclosure.  I did this work.  However, you won't be able to RAID ESATA port devices.  I use my external ESATA drives for backups. I usually use a box 2.5 "because it is very portable.  If you don't mind working with a naked drive, then you can also use a station 'dockiing drive '.  www.Newegg.com has what need you.

  • Can I add a third hard drive to h9 Pavilion HPE currently have an SSD drive and a SATA drive?

HP Pavilion HPE h9 (Phoenix), win 7 64

Can I add a third SATA drive to my system?  The specs say three bays are available, but when I ordered it I could not add a third (or greater than 1 TB drives).  Is there something on the SSD that changes the spacing of the drive Bay?  I prefer not to take the walk outside if there is no way to add another drive.

    Hello

Please report the number of HP for your PC product.

You review this article and video?  You will need to remove the cage hard disk to install the third hard disk. In general, the SSD is in the middle of each side mounting with HDDs of 3.5 ".  Hard drive cage is made for three hard disks.

The specifications indicate theProvisioning for three hard drives on this particular model. The firm seems to be the same as the other two models HPE H9.

  • Add third hard drive on HPE 510 t?

I have a new HPE 510 t i7 2600 cpu with 2 internal hard drives. I would like to add a third hard drive to my system, but there is no more hd bays inside the box. This third disc is not for backups, but for streaming audio vsts for recording and mixing of music. It should be as fast as a normal internal HD at 7200 RPM, 150 MB/s etc.

Can I use a 5.25 Bay media on the front of the box for adding a new hard drive? It would give me the same speed of data as a HDD internal? If this does not work, can I get an external hard drive that works on eSata and add an eSATA card?

I have USB 3.0 ports on the front of this PC - can this work for an external hard drive that would meet my needs?

    Thanks for the ideas!

Thanks for your help with this. I might look into the SSD. My HP has a Pocket media Bay too.

The 2600 k that you build will rock! Mobo Asus P67 and RAM Corsair are perfect for this processor. I'll check to see how it turns out.

    Hey rcfball66

You can always buy a gateway vista recovery disk to reinstall vista back to the factory with the new drive settings

They provide at a nominal cost

manufacturers of hard drive normally supplies free software to their Web sites for the movement of the operating systems of the old hard drive to the new hard disk cloning you buy home

You can also use programs third 3rd to do this, or upgrade Vista Home Basic vista full for pc full upward

but you can normally buy 3rd party programs

read below information about such a program

I installed a new hard drive for my dell Inspiron 1525 and try to install windows 7. He asks me to install the driver. How to do it

Using the Dell recovery disks to reinstall?

    The origonal drive failed?

If you are using a real MS win dvd during the first part of the installation it can not find a drive or ask a driver, then the driver is obtained from Dell, specific to your model, its likely the driver sata, you need to download to say a USB and then point to this file when the installation application the third-party driver.

  • Try adding the third hard drive for HP p6232p

    Hello

I'm pretty well a beginner, so I hope I can explain this well.

I have a new HP p6232p desktop computer.  I am interested to install a new HDD SATA Seagate Barracuda 250 GB I have on-site as a spare.  (I already have OEM and a second hard drive installed and working correctly.)  I wonder if this computer allows a third hard drive.

I placed the third disc in a pleasant and safe place and plugged the thin cord, red. This cord will go clear hard drive to a blue connector on the motherboard.  (There was also a yellow slot available.)  For the wide cord, I used a short adapter to change the pins to four pins.  It has been connected to one of the white gizmos, four holes (sorry, don't know what to call it).

So, I pulled to the top of the computer and it does not automatically detect the new hard drive.  In the BIOS, there is no indication of it.  I couldn't not listed in Control Panel - Device Manager - hard drives.

I bought the hard drive hoping to resurrect my old computer, which did not work.  As I can't return the drive to the store, I thought I would go ahead and try to put it to good use.  (If it does not work maybe I'll try to sell it on eBay or Craig's list).

I wonder what I'm doing wrong?  Any thoughts (in easy to understand language, please ) would be most appreciated!

If the bios does not show the port you plugged into with an attached device, then a port this bios is disabled or if you have equipment/wiring problems.  If you click on the bios ports and press ENTER, you should be able to see if it is enabled or disabled.  This is how works my bios.

I don't want to scare you, but there are a lot of posts here on Seagate hard drives.

Once the bios sees the port with your attached drive, then you should be good. If you use a new reader new and unformatted, then once you start, then go to disk management and look for your new device. You will need it initialized by right mouse clicking on your new device and then proceed from there.

Soon as your App Photos or iPhoto lost track of your photo library, or there has not been migrated from your old drive. You can create an empty library and probably enable iCloud photo library for photos to upload to the cloud.

  • Satellite X 200-219: can I add a third HARD drive

    Hello

First I will say large laptop (although more frequent updates to the screen driver would be nice: D).

So, I was nosy kicking on the Intel Matrix Storage console, and it turns out that I have an unusued port (port 1).
Means that it is possible to add another internal hard drive of my laptop?
Or is it wishful thinking on my part?

Another question: is there any room for a third HARD drive in all cases?

    Thank you!

    Hello

I talked to a technician for laptop and the third HDD is not possible
The laptop was equipped with a 2 hard drives and a Max which is possible

Don t know what you mean by a free port, but it is certainly not a third SATA HDD controller

  • Install a secondary hard drive

I have a small form factor and want to install a second hard disk in the optical drive.

The new Seagate drive came with all the SATA cables. and the optical drive cable usual additional split from him. One of these cards is part of the new drive, but one that goes to the motherboard is too short to reach the appropriate connector. Seems that I just need a very short extension, but when I do my shopping for one I'm overwhelmed by a mess of all sorts of types of plug SATA cables and cable whose pictures are not clear enough for me to recognize exactly what I need.

Can someone advise me please I need re this plug on each end, as well as the extension of better quality? Guidance appreciated.

    Clueless in Cableland,
    Rob

    Hi, Rob:

I don't know what you plug installed on the hard drive, but like I said if it was the biggest power supply sata plug, I think what you need is then the sata data cable.

One with a female end straight to the motherboard and the other female 90 degrees on the hard drive.

SATA cable speed ratings do not matter.  Just get one that will reach from the motherboard to the hard drive.

  • Pavilion 510-p127c: I can install an additional hard drive in the model 510-p127c

Is there a space to install a second hard drive for storage in the PC?

There are only 2 Sata Headers (for devices) on the motherboard.

The only solution would be a USB3.0 external hard drive.

  • Install a second hard drive in a G10-133

    Two questions for you...

I would like to install a second hard drive in my G10-133. Specifically, I'm looking for a second disc 80gig (MK8026GAX). Does anyone have experience of installing a second drive like that?

Secondly, I know where to buy the disc. But, someone has any advice on the carriage-drive itself (ie. the piece of kit that holds the drive in place in the Bay)? Specifically, where can I get one?

    Everyone applauded.

    Hello Andrew

In my opinion, you can build a second HDD, but the two HARD drives must have the same size.
As far as I know the 80 GB HARD drive is compatible with your device.
In addition the second HDD must be set as a slave HARD drive. You can set the jumper in the correct position.

  • Qosmio F30 - installing the new hard drive

    Hello

I just installed a new hard drive on my Qosmio F30 - he came originally only with a 60 GB hard drive.

The second disc is identical to the first in every way, i.e. of 60 GB drive Toshiba.

I initialized the new drive and it also shows online and unallocated. I want to use the reader to basically increase my quality, not like a mirror and so chose this option using the RAID Utility.

However when I expelore the C drive, it shows than the total capacity of the drives as 60 GB. I guess that both drives should be showing as a player, like 120 GB.

    The drive works properly?

    Thank you

    Hello

You can check in the BIOS if the second HDD is recognized correctly

As you say you don t want to use a mirror mode, but then you must set the RAID0 stripping!

Please also check the settings of the BIOS RAID!

At page 242 user manual you will find all the details on the different options and what they are for
