can anyone please shed more light on this?Installing 32-bit RDBMS Client software on x86_64 Linux. Studio of ODI needs Oracle Client
HI team,
11.1.1.7.0 = ODI version
I installed all ODI - Studio, autonomous agent, agent of Java EE on one machine...
And I installed only ODI Studio on the local computer and the two machines are in the same domain.
If connecting to the repository of the local computer throw error uncategorized exception to access the repository...
Sorry for the basic question...
So my doubt is ODI STUDIO customer Oracle needs... to connect to the repository?
Response would be appreciated
Thanks in advance
Prashant
Hi all
Solve by installing Oracle Client on the local computer and configure the connection at the base of the remote computer to the local computer.
mRainey - error is less to...
oracle.odi.core.config.MasterRepositoryResourceFailureException: ODI-10182: Uncategorized exception for access to the repository. Could not make JDBC connection; nested exception is java.sql.SQLException: Exception occurred while getting connection: oracle.ucp.UniversalConnectionPoolException: cannot get data source connection: java.sql.SQLRecoverableException: IO error: the network adapter could not establish the connection
So my approach is right to access the remote repository... ?? so that I can closed these forums...
Thanks and greetings

How to start to use the Oracle client to access the database?
People,
Hello. I just installed Oracle Client (Instant Client) in the directory/home/myOracle/Oracle_Client.
But I don't know how to start and configure the client to access Oracle database.
Can all folk tell me how to start to use the Oracle client to access the database?user8860348 wrote:
People,Hello. I've successfully used Oracle SQL Developer. But I want to know how to use the Instant Client.
Can any folk tell me how to use the Client then just install it?
I guess you're hurting understand the definition of Client instant, there isn't a tool or application or tool GUI as a sql developer or another that you can start using. It's just client installed with the minimum characteristics
If you want to use the right application tool install sql developer in your instant client or simply running sqlplusSee you soon

Any idea about this problem on installing the Oracle Client
Hello
Client computer: Dell notebook, i5, Win 7 SP1 Enterprise 64-bit (8 GB of RAM)
I am trying to install the oracle 11.2.0.3 client 64-bit on this machine, but facing problems. After I'm done specifying ORACLE_BASE and selection of the language and 'Administrative' selected option instead of 'instant customer' or 'Runtime', by clicking on the next button, progress bar is displayed and the time it's done with audit requirements that disappears from the screen moving in together. I ran the installer with the option "Run as Administrator" too and tried to use 11.2.0.2 setup, but in vain.
Quick question... I have a CSI valid, if I get a ticket with Oracle, they would help me on problem installing client that I am facing. In the past I was able to install the client on this machine, I am just clueless despite that I looked at the log generated by the Setup program file.

Unfortunately, there are administrators in Windows, then there are administrators. Apparently not all administrators are created equal. Don't ask me to explain, I do not understand myself, I just know that this is a truth. Still a reason more I learned to avoid Windows I get chances.

Install oracle 11g Client in an application server (HP - UX 64-bit operating system)
I'm going to install oracle 11g client in an application server (HP - UX 64-bit operating system)
I have to create the new mount for client installation point?
Through the application server, I will access (rac) database server.
I have enough space available in / or root mount point.
I have space in / opt mounting point, can I make a directory in/opt/OU1/app and install the client at this place in the access database?
Thank you

SolaimanYou can install in any desired point of installation/directory. Oracle does not give a flying fig this topic. Just put it somewhere that makes sense.

Installing the Oracle Client - not found registry keys
Hi all!
I'm trying to change a setting for an environment variable in an oracle client installation.
The problem is that in the path, that I found in the oracle.key file, there is no registry entry... so I can't change the environment variable.
How can it be possible? Where can I find variable parameters?
I not have the client installed, so I don't know what happened during the installation.
The machine running Windows Server 2003 SP2 (x 64) and the version of Oracle Universal Installer is the 11.1.0.6.0.
Thank you in advance for your help! The only explanation I have is that someone messed with the registry.

Is it possible to install several Oracle client (versions) on windows 7?
Hey,.
Is it possible to install several Oracle client (versions) on development sharepoint2010 servers?
If so - what are the conditions or precautions take?
Please through your thoughts?
Thanks in advance! You should be able to. They will have separate directories.
On the top of my head... the only thing I can think can be a problem, that is your tnsnames.ora file. You will need to make sure that your environment variables are configured to use the $OH/network/admin/tnsnames.ora you want to keep.
You could probably set TNS_ADMIN to point to the desired directory...
