How to find the version and the arc of the installed Oracle client
Hi all
I have a sles 10 sp2 x86_64 on which customer oracle 10.2 is installed. This facility has not been made by me!
so I don't know how the oracle client version/architecture (32/64-bit) is installed on the client.
of sqlplus v I get only the version that is installed, and not if it is 32 or 64 bit. How can I find that.

I read this Client 32-bit installation on Linux x86_64 RDBMS software. [1075717.1 ID]
can anyone please shed more light on this?Installing 32-bit RDBMS Client software on x86_64 Linux. The answer to "why", is that the 11gR2 Client software is the first version that includes syntax so that a 32-bit object is linked.

Windows 7 64 bit and the need to install 32-bit and 64-bit client for Oracle 11 g
Hello
First of all, I'm sorry to ask what is probably a common response to the knowledge of most in the forum. I can't find a straight answer, the search of these forums or via google.
We have Windows 7 64 - bit in our next update office. We have several Oracle databases, and all client software in our environment is 32-bit.
I want to try to be at the forefront, so I want to deploy the latest version of the client 64 - bit 11 g instead of our current client (10 g 32-bit).
The simple question is this: can we actually do with our suite of 32-bit applications or do I need to install the client for 32-bit to 32-bit applications side-by-side with the customer of Oracle 11 g 64 bit for future 64-bit clients?
For the future that, if I do, then someone good instructions on this? I found an article about it, but it seemed personal and made use of the mklink command, so I have my doubts it is correct.
Thank youI think that you need separate 64-bit and 32-bit clients

Studio of ODI needs Oracle Client
HI team,
11.1.1.7.0 = ODI version
I installed all ODI - Studio, autonomous agent, agent of Java EE on one machine...
And I installed only ODI Studio on the local computer and the two machines are in the same domain.
If connecting to the repository of the local computer throw error uncategorized exception to access the repository...
Sorry for the basic question...
So my doubt is ODI STUDIO customer Oracle needs... to connect to the repository?
Response would be appreciated
Thanks in advance
Prashant
Hi all
Solve by installing Oracle Client on the local computer and configure the connection at the base of the remote computer to the local computer.
mRainey - error is less to...
oracle.odi.core.config.MasterRepositoryResourceFailureException: ODI-10182: Uncategorized exception for access to the repository. Could not make JDBC connection; nested exception is java.sql.SQLException: Exception occurred while getting connection: oracle.ucp.UniversalConnectionPoolException: cannot get data source connection: java.sql.SQLRecoverableException: IO error: the network adapter could not establish the connection
So my approach is right to access the remote repository... ?? so that I can closed these forums...
Thanks and greetings

possible to install the client tools OBIEE and OBIEE server in the same machine
Hello
possible to install the client tools OBIEE and OBIEE server in the same machine.
Ex:
Last week I've updated Patch BP1 in my local system, in the process, we got the update also oracle Client tool
But in my Administration tool in the built-in tool automatically updated, we need to install the client tool in my system?
My doubt:
Please check this screenshot
http://ScrnSht.com/sskbjb
Please help me,
Thank youYou should not install client tools because they will be automatically installed w install the server. The 11g installation guide says "do not install client tools on the same computers that host your server instances Oracle Business Intelligence, client tools are already installed on these computers (as part of the installation of Oracle Business Intelligence)."
so useful, mark it as good or useful.

Install the client + Net services
Hello
I need to install oracle on debian x 86 client, but I need some NET services such as tnsping for a monitoring tool...
I ve installed all InstallClient packages, including sqlplus... but none of this contains the tnsping command...
Can someone show me how I could do this command without installing the complete database software?
Thank youYes, there is any tnsping in Instant Client. Guys find workaround solutions (not supported by Oracle), for example this:

How to install Oracle 10 g on another partition
Hello
On my desktop on drive C:\ (Windows operating system) I've got customer Oracle to access the Oracle 8i database which is the version used in the company where I work and which is installed on the Unix server. As I would like to install the database to Oracle 10 g Release 2 (practice) on my PC and the database to Oracle 10 g Client Release 2 as well, I have two questions:
1 - the installation procedure will allow me to install Oracle Database 10 g Release 2 on another partition of my PC (I have on that drive D:\)?
2. first of all it will be possible to install Oracle Database 10 g Release 2 Client disk D:\ or the installation procedure will make me install on C:\ where I have the directory "praying" to access the Oracle 8i database I have to work on that?
Sorry for the questions but I'm afraid of committing errors in the installation of 10 g already having a customer for 8i which I still have to work
Thank you!Mark1970 wrote:
Thank you!
I have two more questions:
1. for a single PC stand where I want to install Oracle Database 10 g anb Oracle Database 10 g Client, what version should I use? Do I have to use the Express edition or what else? I looked at http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/index.htmlYou can use express if you wish. I have successfully run Enterprise Edition on a laptop XP - Pro.
2 are you sure I won't have any problem concerning the ORACLE_HOME or PC register on the same PC, although on different partitions (drive C:\ and D:\).
Not if install you it correctly. Oracle is designed to support multiple installations of version on the same box.
two versions of Oracle 8i (customer only) and 10g (more customer db)?
You don't need to install 10g client. All Oracle database facilities include the client software.

Hi user1863983,
In case you want to use ADR in stand-alone mode, follow the link documentation of ADR to address:
Reference: running in stand-alone Mode
You must do the following:
- Navigate to the directory where ADR has been unpacked and run the following java command:
java-jar ords.war
- Set the location of the folder that contains the Oracle Application Express static resources when you are prompted.
If you have downloaded apex and who unpacked in a location then this parameter would be:
Pics If you install from the apex comes with 12 c database:
\apex\images - Set the HTTP port to the desired number viz.8081 when prompted
I hope this helps!
