Interactive Web site

I'm curious to know what other software (apart from Dreamweaver) we use to create interactivity in a Web page such as:

http://www.leedsbuildingsociety.co.UK/resources/kick-my-habits/

Can this be achieved using JavaScript? If so, where from where can we learn what type of interactivity.

Thank you

  • ... Newbie question interactive Web site...

Hi all, I wonder if I could get advice on a specific web design e-commerce site I want to implement for the company of my wife.  Basically, I'm looking for a way for potential clients select fabric for the different components of a Chair (ie: Chair, front of the Chair, Chair side) on a website, if they have selected components applied to an image generic chair so that the client can see how their selections of fabric would look like on the Chair before finalizing their order.  I don't know if Dreamweaver is capable of doing this kind of thing or not, so would appreciate your comments.  I did some research, but could not find any information.

    Thank you.

I work in a web development studio in Michigan with a dozen employees. We are currently working on a project that does something similar. We only manage web interface design and the framework and the content maangement system - Flash programming (which would be the actual piece of the puzzle that handles showing dynamically fabric on a Chair as you are suggesting) is done by another company. All together the customer is spending more than $100 K.

Not to say you would have to do this kind of financial or investment of time to accomplish something on a smaller scale than you-get, but be that as it may, you are probably best to consult a professional programmer.

  • How to transfer a .swf published to the Web site?

    Hello

I am a designer with zero code knowledge or experience. I CS 4 Master Collection now and look forward to the CS 5 to begin to ship. I am, however, to assess as to whether I should jump and buy directly in flash catalyst. This is based in large part on whether or not I can start creating simple web sites using CF simply and easily.

Please don't laugh too hard at my ignorance here:

I created an interactive Web site simple FC and published .swf and close up with a file that has deploy to the web.

I just bought a domain on godaddy for hosting sample. I know how to upload files. But I do not know how to take my .swf deploy to the web and become a working site.

Anyone in charge to help a beginner?

    Kind regards

    DSW

    Hi, DSW,.

Take the totality of the contents of the file to deploy to the web and download only the in the root folder of your site web sever. Then, you should be able to go to www.yourdomain.com/Main.html and complete your CF project. If you rename index.html Main.html, www.yourdomain.com also works.

  • What is the best plan to design interactive graphics for a Web site?

Hi, I'm trying to decide which package from Adobe to get. I want to design an interactive infographic to embed on a Web site. I mean by "interactive" hovering over a button would trigger a text bubble. I have no coding experience. I'm looking for a package that can do this and I need to follow a video tutorial that shows the specific steps to make an interactive infographic by using this package. My research showed that Edge animate would do the trick, but the package is abandoned. Dreamweaver is a good alternative or can you please suggest which is the best package to use? And you know relevant video tutorials? Thanks a mill for your help.

You would need considerable experience of coding to do it in Dreamweaver with HTML5, CSS and JavaScript + JSON or XML data.

Or watch Animate CC (formerly called Flash Pro).

That's essentially what Edge animate was more up more things.

  • Flash and how it interacts with Web sites and if it causes problems.

Hi, I am very new to the Adobe's Flash. I'm an in-house designer. I'm about to take a course in Adobe Flash and my boss asked me if you use Flash on our website will cause problems. Currently there is no Flash on our Web site. If we add some Flash people who visit our site will have questions? If so, what would they meet? Thanks for any help!

The main problem you may have is with the users using hendheld devices such as iPhones and iPads that don't support the Flash player - and on into the future where Flash player support for mobile devices is likely to end altogether.  In such cases, you will need to provide alternative content and Player detection when no player is detected.

  • incomplete loading Web sites

I have problems with just a few Web sites. They start to load normally but never completed. So I can often see all or part of the page, but cannot interact - for example, I can enter in an e-mail program (for example, Yahoo) and maybe to open an email, but I'm unable to respond. Or only a part of the loading of the page and then crashes. Or sometimes none of the page it loads just hangs for half an hour, showing a white screen. Other sites loading fully and normally.

What happened with the mail of Yahoo, Ebay, Hotmail and other sites.

  • Data CGI Web site

    Hello

I using LabView with Axis camera in my project and I didn't know how to download data from CGI file whitch is on the Web site.

When I write the path to the file in Internet Explorer (for example.) http://xxx.xxx.xx.xx/axis-cgi/motion/motiondata.cgi) I see:

    Group = 0; level = 14; threshold = 35

I want to download LabVIEW we of this value (for eg. 14) but how?

Another problem will connect to this site. I write the username and password if I want to see the content of the site and axis special ActiveX property node for this (on the image).

    Can someone help me?

    PS. Sorry for my English.

    Hello

to get the HTTP request data, you can use the Palette of HTTP Client in LabVIEW. You can find it in the function palette > Data Communication > protocols

After you perform a GET operation, you will receive the body of the response: "group = 0; level = 14; threshold = 35 '.

After you just analyze this string in numbers using e.g. String Scan. under the range of the chain.

On the sending of username and password:

If the camera Axis http server accepts http basic authentication, you can use the Handle.vi 'open' in the range of HTTP Client and the strings username and password of wire to the input. This will send this data.

Please see the attached screenshot. I don't have any what Axis camera, but I hope it can help you to give a starting point.

If you want to send other data, or interact with your camera server, you can use http GET and POST methods.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones can not click some buttons on Web sites

I don't know if I have "on or off" something when things on my "BOLD" setting.

But now, when I'm on different sites, I can't click on some buttons to perform certain functions.

    Examples:

In my downloads, I opened Mobile Banking for the first time.  Blackberry warning appeared and tried to click on the "I agree" button, but nothing happened.

While on another site "411.com", I tried to click on a similar button to execute the search and still do nothing.

What I did to screw this place?

It has worked for me in the past, that's why I think I've changed a setting than the damn.  Any ideas what I need to do to fix this?

    Thank you

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Web sites can be coded to perform better with some browsers, rather than others. The BB browser may appear to websites like several different things... What is inside the browser application (BBKey > Options > browser Configuration > browser Identification). Change that to a different browser could help your BB interact better with some Web sites. In combination with all other configuration settings, you have to find the combination of all these parameters which works best for the sites you visit. Unfortunately, there is no "best advice" that each persons needs are different. But, in general, I find that change browser Identification often helps - most often by changing to FF or IE (if those who are at your disposal... the options vary depending on the carrier).

    Good luck!

  • How to add a download link for a video of Captivate on a Web site?

We try to do a download button that will allow our customers download our videos so that they save them on their devices. When the file zipped and tried to click index.html that the link seems broken that the video does not play. This seems like it is something on our side or y at - it another way I should publish it?

That doesn't say that they can't be sensitive design but if they (empty) Standard projects such as software simulations or video demos that should work. • Creating user accounts history Web site

So, I am creating a website in Adobe Muse that will allow individuals to connect to their profile on the Web site and interact with Web site as much as their account type. This type of Web site is possible to create within Adobe Muse or am I looking for another program? If it is possible, is there a widget I can use for user accounts or I have to do to create them in a different way?

    Hi Saibre,

The kind of site you want to create is known as dynamic website in nature and will need the database to the end connection.

Muse is only for the website design that it cannot connect to the database as now, I will propose you to use Dreamweaver so that you can create Web sites that are dynamic in nature.

In collaboration with Dreamweaver to create site dynamic Web need some knowledge of databases and script code.

However, if you create your Web site in Muse and publish on Business Catalyst you can achieve your goal.

Business Catalyst is a CMS where you can add dynamic features to your site.

Add features of Business Catalyst to your Muse sites

    Hope that works.

  • Your Web site takes advantage of the SPACE? Science, reading, Art, creativity and Exploration

I'm an addict of admitted Museum. I can walk the corridors of an art, history or the Museum of science for hours. I love learning and museums are an opportunity to engage with things more than me. I want to teach my children taste so visit us museums, when we can. They like to go to the Museum for children in Cincinnati, because they can interact with the exhibits. They have a mini dedicated to SPACE; Science, reading, Art, creativity and Exploration.

In many ways the Web sites of companies also act as a Virtual Museum of all kinds. They house information, some featuring mirror of the relics, and are intended to serve the purpose of education. The problem is companies do not create sites that are committed.

People visit your Web site because they are looking for information. But people choose to stay on a website because they discover, there is more to learn. Adults, like children, are naturally curious. Whatever this is developed to a child, whether it is a toy, the show or the establishment, is designed to take advantage of this creativity. Why do we assume adults are short-sighted approaching self-education? Why is repository of information central to the business, a Web site, designed without imagination, foresight or intellectual insight? It's as if we want people to leave our site. "Here is the information that you are looking for, calling us now if you are interested in learning more". It does not work like that. We've all seen the stats, Gartner expects that 70% of the purchase occurs before a sales representative process is engaged. You don't want your Web site to make up 70% of this trip?

marilyncox BOOM! I particularly like this: "recall of information of individuals is 10%. Scientists have discovered that, by hiring several meanings that remind of the rate increases to 60%. Interactive sites are successful because they are committed to the senses; not only the traditional view, feel, hear, taste and feel. Interactive sites allow visitors to build, create, contribute and learn and stimulate their imagination. " I used the phrase 'create an experience' more - from the website and beyond - to coach our teams to focus on interactive content appropriately for customers and prospects. Interactivity for the sake of interactivity - but in a way no measurable and integrated. Double BOOM!

And if not necessarily interactive, to focus on the fact that the content must be discovered and distributed - leaning hard on keywords and snackables - really driving engagement and conversion during the 67% of the buyers journey which is now entirely digital by SiriusDecisions.

I can't wait to see what my teams will be able to do in our next "coming up in early 2015" iteration of our website (including a more clearly defined content, marketing strategy). BTW, I'm so stealing your acronym of 'The SPACE' - I'm recommend it as our "code name" project My teams to laugh when I say this, but seriously, a project of this magnitude just screamed 'code name' for me. Laughing out loud.
