Internet ladies: restore INTRODUCTION screen

In Windows XP, there is "Internet games": game of checkers, backgammon, hearts, reversi and spades. Whenever you launch one of these games on the Internet, an introductory screen first appears, with the words:

"The game suits you with players from around the world"... etc, etc.

You can uncheck the BOX for "Show it every time". When you do this, the introductory screen no longer appear.

But I want to restore this screen to the Internet application ladies before giving the computer to someone else. And I don't know how to restore the check mark. (The four other Internet games continue to display the introductory screen).

I tried to copy the area of MSN files from another hard drive, no difference. I even uninstalled the games in the ' Add/Remove Programs' Control Panel, rebooted the PC several times and then reinstalled them. Would you believe? No difference. I can't figure out what to change in RegEdit.

How to restore this checkmark?

Annoyances.org employee gave the answer. You will find the keys in the registry as follows:

HKEY CURRENT USER; Software; Microsoft; zone.com; Free games 1.0; Preferences; Windows user

There is a record of the application of game of checkers. Given that this part of the register is reserved for a user own trivial preferences and do not change the operation of the computer, I just deleted the folder.

I rebooted, and Internet ladies returned to its original state with the introduction screen. The application continues to operate normally, of course.

  • Restoring previous screen resolution

    Hello-

I have a Dell Mini 10, which works under Windows XP.  After a nasty malware attack, I took it and they had to restore/reinstall the operating system on a partition (there is no disk drive in the mini).  It worked very well on get rid of the virus. However, the resolution of the screen is now completely turned upside down, and all seems tense.  The mini 10 is supposed to have a default resolution of 1024 x 576, which is better suited to the screen, despite the fact that it doesn't have a max of 1024 x 768 resolution.  Currently, the max resolution is what is on the screen because there is no way for me to change it manually to the 1024 x 576.  I called the place which initially fixed my computer and they told me to reinstall the video drivers for the Dell Mini 10, I found on the website of Dell - but that did not help at all, and I always feel the same screen resolution problem.  He does everything very difficult to see because he's all tense.

    Thanks in advance!

    M_B salvation,

I first suggest you completely uninstall display drivers for your Dell Mini 10 times to add or remove programs and Device Manager, and then reinstall the drivers that you downloaded from the dell website and check if it helps you to solve the problem of display resolution.

To uninstall display drivers in Add or remove programs, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, click Control Panel.
    2. Click Add or remove programs.
    3. In the select list display drivers program.
    4. Right-click on it and you should see the option to uninstall the program.
    5. Click on uninstall and it should remove the program from your computer display.

Uninstall the drivers from the Device Manager view. During the uninstallation, the device in the Device Manager, make sure that you follow the steps below:

    a. Click Start.

    b. access control panel, go to the system > hardware > Device Manager.

    c. open Device Manager and expand your display adaper.

    d. Select the Nvidia card and uninstall the device.

Restart the computer and allows Windows to load the generic drivers and install display drivers that you downloaded from the Dell website and check if this may help eventually.

I hope this helps. Let us know the result.

    Thank you and best regards,

I have two large black areas on each side of my screen. How to resize my screen to fit the screen of my computer? (and yes I tried the button expand) :))

    Hello val2000, welcome.

These games is managed inside of Internet Explorer? If this isn't the case, then I suggest contacting the manufacturer of your computer for the latest pgrahics drivers. If installation of those who does not resolve the problem, then try to change your resolution to one of the following values (depending on the size of your screen):

    1024 x 768
1280 x 800 (wide, common form for laptops)
    1280 x 1024
    1680 x 1050 (widescreen)

    To change your resolution:

    1. click on START
    2. click on "Control Panel."
    3. double click on "display".
    4. click on the tab "settings".
    5. change the resolution on your cursor tab and then click on 'Apply' at the bottom right

  • No instillation disk, not restart, won't white system restoration, black screen cursor

I have an Acer Aspire 6935
Yesterday I noticed the volume wasn't working (fantasy on the left volume controls) I've had this problem before and turn off the laptop and remove the battery for a minute and start again to fix it.
I went to do this yesterday, but before the laptop is turned off, the DVD Acer Arcade poped place and installed something (it's already installed so it can be updated?), very fast, so fast that I could not cancel.
Arcade entertainment screen popped up functioning normally, so I pulled out of it before the laptop finally shut down normally.
After taking the battery and wait a minute (to fix the volume) I turned on my computer laptop back.
At startup, I got this message: windows do not close don successfully, please choose one of the following values: safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command promt and start windows normally.
I tried all of this, but all I get is a black screen with a mobile slider white in the Center.
I then tried a system restore, but I was told that I had no restore points! I know that I had because I've used this feature before.
I then ran a start-up repair and diagnostic tool windows memory, which came back everything works normally.
I also ran a full system restore, but I got the message "no locations valid no could be found" I received no instillation disk with my computer because it is supposed to be in the computer already.
    I don't know what to do :(
any help would be appreciated if

How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.

There is no Vista free download legal available.

    http://support.Acer.com/

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11; Normally, Acer is Alt + F10 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

Every computer manufacturer has their way of doing recovery disk/s.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • Problems with Windows 7: Internet Explorer and black screen

I recently took my old Acer Aspire laptop 8375 from the dead. If I remember correctly, it is from 2008 and has Windows 7 installed on it. When I try to start my PC, everything's fine until it connects to the account. Suddenly, a black screen will appear with a message saying: Internet Explorer has stopped working. I have tried different methods: looking for online solutions (did not work, window closed without results), open the Task Manager and IE (did not work), trying to open other applications didd work tho, but my google chrome didn, t work as well running. I forgot to mention, I could use my cursor on the black screen. Could someone help?
