Interview with slow and fast 32 bit Oracle series control in oracle 64-bit.

Hello
I need help.
I have a machine with Windows with Oracle 10.2.0.4 32 bits (DB - A)
And a machine with 64 bit HPUNIX with Oracle 10.2.0.4 (DB - B)

A query that I run on DB series - has in 140 mili sec

And the same query on DB - B takes 10 Sec.

The delay on DB - B is the only sort Index which is used to sort the data in ascending order. (DB - A uses this same index if present)

Now I just googled around, I got some suspicion as "being 64-bit has more sorting area optimizer Oracle 32-bit choose from uses the index" is this true?

Waiting for your response.

Thank you and best regards,
Vinay Mistry

Except for the fact that the tables listed in the two execution plans are totally different, I can see that the two database have a different place (ALL_ROWS vs FIRST_ROWS) optimizer.

In addition, there is a big difference in the number of rows processed every step of execution.

    You reinstall JavaFX runtime too?

Looks like JavaFX Runtime is 32-bit and 64-bit Java Runtime.
It's no wonder that this won't work because the libraries are not compatible. You must have matching runtimes.

And if you launch it from browser and browser must be 64-bit to run 64-bit Java.
Many 64-bit platforms still have 32 bits used by default browsers.

To avoid the cause of databases running on another server, we copied from our Production database to the same server where the QA database is running and began with init.ora PROD that has 7 GB 6 GB SGA_TARGET and SGA_MAX_SIZE. For the QA database, SGA_MAX_SIZE is 700 MB and SGA_TARGET is 600 MB. Both are running on the same server, and with the same data. We have refreshed QA with data from PROD. If we start with PROD init.ora QA database, QA also behaves the same way PROD.

This problem is only with the specific insert. Here is the result of this specific statement tkprof. Can someone please interpret this for me? I am poor in SQL tuning :-( Why the statement behaves ODD with the size of the SGA PROD? Generally, we would think THAT larger SGA should give better performance.

    Option 1:

You run with two different ORACLE_HOMEs - that is potentially two different copies of the Oracle executable to the patch different sets?

    Option 2:

A change of size of SGA is unlikely to directly affect the execution plan, but it also has change the size of the PGA TOUR at the same time? A change in the pga_aggregate_target could affect the choice of the mechanism of the join optimizer. (But not to change an in a join; but hash semi-join to nested loop is possible).

    Possibility 3:

The db_file_multiblock_read_count leaves then the size that oracle defines by default depends on the db_cache_size divided by process; so, if you have reduced the sga_target_size you (implicitly or explicitly, no doubt) reduced the db_cache_size, and if you don't reduce the process in the same way, then the default db_file_multiblock_read_count been reduced. What you did on your system stats, this could change the cost of (for example) full tablescans, which could lead to a change in execution plan.

It would be useful to see the results of a call to explain the plan / dbms_xplan.display in both cases so that we can see the variation in estimates of Oracle.

  • Procedure of ODI with slow performance (SOURCE and TARGET are different Oracle databases)

    Hi experts,

I have an ODI procedure but its market with slow performance (SOURCE and TARGET are different Oracle databases), you can see below.

    My question is:

It is possible write Oracle BULK COLLECT at the 'command on the target' (below)? or

There is a KM of ODI that perform this task below in a quick way? If so, what KM can you guys suggest me?

I found 'Oracle Append (DBLINK) control' but I try to avoid creating the dblink database.

    ===============================================================================

    * COMMAND ON the SOURCE (* technology: ORACLE * logic diagram: ORACLE_DB_SOURCE):

    SELECT NUM_AGENCIA, NUM_CPF_CNPJ, NOM_PESSOA

    < % = OdiRef.getSchemaName ("D") % >. < % = odiRef.getOption ("P_TABELA") % >

    ===============================================================================

*ON the COMMAND TARGET (* technology: ORACLE * logic diagram: ORACLE_DB_TARGET):

    BEGIN

    INSERT INTO DISTSOB_OWNER. DISTSOB_PESSOA (NOM_PESSOA, NUM_CPF_CNPJ, FLG_ATIVO)

    VALUES ('#NOM_PESSOA', '#NUM_CPF_CNPJ', THE FROM ');

    EXCEPTION WHEN DUP_VAL_ON_INDEX THEN

    NULL;

    END;

    ===============================================================================

    Thank you guys!

Please use SQL for SQL command Append KM... You can delete the unnecessary steps in the KM.E.g. fi you won't create I$ table, control flow etc, then you can remove related steps.

    Please try with that.

VM with l.o. xp 32-bit and Windows 2003 are very slow and found to have 100% of the CPU.

This problem also happens with the new machine virtual and not only moved to another computer virtual infrastructure.

Support DELL has verified the server BIOS settings and it's ok

    Thank you

I tried to upgrade to Windows 7, but after many attempts, could not go without having to clear everything and start over. So I'd do it if I have to do I was wondering if I could make the machine that is more memory better and faster, without having to buy a new computer say a Dell XPS 8300 (that I'll have to run a lot of photographic software in the future and I understand that this could be a good computer for that?) In any case, it is possible to 'upgrade' the computer something like this please, or I have to save my pennies for a new? Thank in advance for your advice.)

    Hello

If you upgraded to 4GBs off RAM you won't get many benefits

Here is an article on what is happening with 4GBs of RAM:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929605

"If a computer has many features implemented, the available memory can be reduced to 3 GB or less." However, the maximum memory available in 32-bit versions of Windows Vista is typically 3.12 GB. »

and you should also consult the Dell manual for your model desktop computer see what amount of RAM your motherboard would answer anyway

    http://support.Dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/my_systems_info/manuals?c=us&l=en&s=Gen& ~ CK = anavml

and here is the reason why you can not upgrade to Windows 7

There are no Windows 7 drivers written for her by Dell

    http://support.Dell.com/support/downloads/DriversList.aspx?c=US&l=en&s=GEN&ServiceTag=&SystemID=INSP_DSKTP_D531&OS=WLH&OSL=en&CATID=&impid=

Click on the menu at the link above drop-down operating system

  • Remote Desktop is very slow on one another and fast on a single computer

While I'm at work, I use remote desktop to connect to my home computer. I did this for a long time without any problem.
I just finished building my new computer yesterday and install a new copy of Windows 7 Pro x 64. When I went to connect to my new computer today via desktop remotely, it is really slow and jerky. I thought maybe it was just my connection but I tried to connect to an older computer which is also on my network home and it was really smooth and fast. So I have 2 computers on the same network, and they have significantly different results when you connect via RDP. The old computer is significantly less powerful than my new.
Is there something I need to do on my new computer (the server) to speed things up? Maybe tweaks, I have neglected or forgotten to start because it is a new installation of windows?
All of the involved computers, Client and server (s) running Windows 7 Pro x 64 and my remote desktop settings are the following:
    Display:
    16-bit color
    Local resources:
Remote - audio does not play
    Keyboard - computer
Local devices - printers [x] Clipboard]
    Experience
    composition of the Bureau
    persistent bitmap cache implementation
    (all other options unchecked)
Thank you in advance for your help!

    I got it to work.

I went through internet and found a registry tweak which fixed my problem 100%
    I navigated to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
and a new value called DisableTaskOffload DWORD value, and then set its value 1.

Please look in my problem though!
  • If FF 39.0 on a new PC with Windows 7 Pro 64 bits - in the sidebar search results bBookmarks are slow - is new facility there a solution for this?

Recently I've just set up a new PC with Windows 7 Professional (64 bit) as the operating system. I just imported bookmarks from my PC in one. HTML file, I created from my old PC. Now whenever I type a search term in the search box to refine my search for one of my favorites of many, sometimes even by typing in the term search begins to lag while I'm typing more letters. Search term/terms once entered, it seems to take 15-20 seconds before the results list appears. This used to be almost instantaneous in this same version of FF (39.0) on my old PC 64 bit of Windows 7 (Home Premium) to bring up the results. I already tried to install the add-on called "signed 1.3.1 - 0 maintenance of the premises and this time there really doesn't make any difference that it helped when I got FF 38.0.5 on my old PC to Win 7 64-bit." Can it still be addressed. Please update as soon as POSSIBLE with the solution.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the < shift >
    (Mac options)
key and then from Firefox. Is always the problem?

  • TB, slow and not meet with 'The Script is not responding' mailWindow.js CAUSE: McAfee (new)

I have been using TB and its predecessor Eudora for years without any problem. These last few months I met it is very slow and usually "does not" clicking on something before the end of the thought. At this point I sometimes get an error message "chrome://messenger/content/mailWindow.js:180", saying that the script has stopped working. I click on continue and it resumes.

After reading the various posts on the topic several times I did 1) re-indexed 2) made a clean installation 3) disabled modules 4) run in safe mode. Nothing seems to improve things. typical symptoms are:
    A. Download emails seems to take normal time, but their display in the Inbox can take a minute or more (used to be instantaneous) by clicking in the intermediate product, the message "not responding".
    B. Sending messages seems normal
    C. selection of a mail in the Inbox, or try to move or delete one takes a minute or more. Click on in the meantime generates the message "not responding".
    D. generally every action with the mouse has this long accompanied "not responding".

I use Windows Vista, McAfee is installed but disabled does not make a difference.

  • Slow WIFI with N300 WNR2000v5 - fast Direct

I have a N300 WNR2000v5 I bought the year last for my house in Florida. It worked well last year (same speed WIFI for direct ethernet connection; 30 mbs download, 6 mbs Upload). This year when I shot, I get full speed through an ethernet cable, but the best I get WIFI now is 5 MB download and submission of 3 mbs. Some trials even download has expired. I tried to restart the Netgear remote. I have firmware V 1.0.0.34. I have a laptop, 2 mobile phones and a connected printer (same as last year). I have the possibility to connect a smart TV. The signal strength is OK and WIFI speed results are the same with the PC right next to the router. Channels 1 and 11 are recommended and I am on channel 1. Someone else in my neighborhood is on channel 1 (with me) and channel 11. Any ideas what to try? Can I switch to 5 ghz? Will be this mess up our phones and other devices? Should I try a factory default (will be this zap my default firmware)? Thank you.

Thanks for the info. The settings were as you suggest. It must have been a temporary problem. Just ran an other tests of speed and WIFI is as fast as ethernet direct.

  • I have a new desktop computer HP with Vista Home Premium 64-bit, with 8 GB RAM and when I try to start Zoo Tycoon 2, he won't play, said that I have no memory system.

I have a new desktop computer HP with Vista Home Premium 64 - bit, with 8 GB of RAM, and when I try to run Zoo Tycoon 2, I get the following error message:

You need at least 256 MB of system memory to run Zoo Tycoon 2. (0Mo detected)

Y at - it a patch? I have read many "Workaround" and none of them work. I tried to run in Windows XP compatibility mode and it didn't work.

    Hey tprefling,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft answers site!

Right-click on the zt.exe file and choose "Run as Administrator" to launch the program.

See if you are able to play the game.

If this does not work, turn your computer to clean the start State and see if the fgame plays very well.

To put your computer in a clean boot, follow these steps:

Note: If the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from following these steps. We recommend strongly that you do not use System Configuration utility to change startup options on the computer, unless a support engineer Microsoft directs you to do so. This can make the computer unusable.

    1. sign the computer by using an account with administrator rights.

    2. click on start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

    3. on the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the check box load startup items. (The check box use the file Boot is not available.)

    4. on the Services tab, click to select the skin all the Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all.
Note: Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use to restore the system with the existing restore points.

    5. click OK and then click on restart.

For more information about the clean boot, see the link below:

In addition, change the size of virtual memory and see that helps. For more information, see:

    I hope this helps!
