  • Action Center does not detect Avast Anti-virus after system restore

I had to do a system restore to a point a few days earlier due to some bad drivers.  After you get things restored, I found that the Action Center are most recognized Avast (free version) as my anti-virus software.  It is fully updated and running and work very well.  I tried several suggestions available online, including suggestions on the avast website to check the consistency of the standard WMI (https://support.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=580&nav=0, 1.20). I also checked that there isn't an underlying virus and tried to 'fix' the installation of Avast in the menu programs and features, as well as a few reboots.  Nothing has worked. This PC is only about two weeks, and everything worked well until the bad drivers and system restore.

I came here as a last resort...  Any help is appreciated.

Don't know if this will work for you, but last night I ran a scan with Avast and this morning that action Center of the window said Avast was running but according to Avast started it was running.  Then I disabled the Avast shields then turned on their return and Action Center were more like Avast is not running

  • Windows Security Center does not recognize my Anti Virus

Mr President, I have Windows XP Home Edition 2002, it's completely up to date with your updates.  ESET NOD 32 is installed and registered properly my system antivirus.   About 2-3 months ago, I installed one of your updates and noticed after completing the red shield appeared informing me that he couldn't dectet my antivirus program, (my antivirus program is running correctly - it was the first time this has happened).    A few days later, the Red Shield has disappeared and on control of the Security Center, he said he was grateful now my antivirus.  2 days ago I installed again your updates, and it's the same thing.  I contacted ESET to know that if my Antivirus system works properly, they said it was and suggested that SP2 is damaged and I need to download.  I tried and it doesn't let me do as my system is completely up to date.    When I started my computer today the red shield appeared with the same message.  I did a scan of my complete system, without defects have appeared.  Could you please help me in this case.  Robert.

  • Security Center does not recognize the Windows Security Essentials

Windows Security Essentials does not seem to register with Security Center.  Security Center reports that no Virus protection is enabled.

    1. I installed Windows XP 32 - bit WGA, activated the product and updated to SP3.

2 security Center starts giving Windows security alerts for Virus protection, because none has been installed.

    3. I installed McAffee VirusScan.

4 security Center stopped giving Windows security alerts for Virus protection.

    5. I uninstalled McAffee VirusScan.

6 security Center has resumed giving Windows security alerts for protection against the viruses as before.

    7. I installed Windows Windows Security Essentials and rebooted.

    8. I tried to uninstall and reinstall Windows Security Essentials with no joy.

Windows Security Essentials installation did not prevent Windows security alerts.  No Windows Security Essentials registry entry will appear in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Security Center and monitoring.  If Microsoft consider essential security to be an antivirus product, then how to Windows Security Essentials register with Security Center?

I understand that this is an information and alert issue only.  I understand that Windows Security Essentials works actually ok.  I am particularly concerned by the reports.  It conditions my deployment of Windows Home Server.  Deactivation of surveillance or the alert is not a solution, just a poor quality work around.

In a previous thread, the author of this question even abandoned and has not requested additional assistance.  An explanation was given (relevant for Windows 7), but no solution has been offered.  Windows XP has not been addressed.   http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-security/the-Security-Center-has-not-recorded-an-anti-virus/15ae2383-7ced-4850-A863-f7eb8cc90ee5

  • Problem with wireless - Vista Network and Sharing Center does not recognize my connection!

I use the Home Visa software and my network and sharing Center does not recognize my connection but I can access the internet without any problem. Previously, I was using a wireless router Linksys with an old box of AT & T internet with no problems. The problems started after I updated my AT & T internet box that made obsolete the linksys router and now the network share does not connect. I just have the problem of getting the network and sharing device recognizing that I am actually connected to a wireless network. I can't use my printer or share files with other people. I can't get my wireless printer to work if I restart my computer and I have the documents I want printed already sent to the printer. My network and sharing Center also works very well for a few seconds when I start my computer then it turns off again.

  • Security Center does not recognize installed AntiVirus software

I tried to update my Roxio Roxio 2009 2007 but I have an error message and so I removed the installation 2009 and re-installed my 2007 edition.

When I removed Roxio 2009 I was correctly or incorrectly advised to remove all references to the "Roxio" in the registry.

I put "Roxio" in the box search of Regedit and deleted all references to Roxio then maybe that is what caused my problem.

In addition to this, I have only 1 point of restoration and it is after I re-installed Roxio 2007 after using the cleaning and the points of additional backup option.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

What a fool one program is Roxio for not being able to uninstall their own stuff more graciously.  I read their directions.

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..

If you have used the XP cleaning and told to delete everything except your last restore Point, she did what you say, which leaves you with a RP.  What do you think thre certain shortcomings here?  It seems that it works perfectly.

There might still some AV programs that XP doesn't recognize not and are there is a difference between antivirus and software malware removal tools.  If you are 100% sure you have something useful installed and XP does not detect it as an AV program and complain about this, you can tell XP not not to warn you of this condition.

To do this, click Start, settings, Control Panel, Security Center, and then click the link that reads:

Change the way security centers alerts me

Things together the way you want to and you will not be disturbed by these messages again.  The risk is, you are disabling/undo built in the protection mechanism.  I have nothing of any AV software (on purpose - I look forward to infections), so I have my disabled notification but maybe this isn't a good idea for everyone.

Some malicious programs, analysis of the programs (such as MBAM) will report this setting (unless there is an infection) and offer to fix it for you because he thinks it might be an affliction.

When you have the time, I recommend that do you this too:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:

    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

The scans by operating clean, then to solve any problems.

Do not guess what the problem might be - understand and resolve it. I need YOUR voice and the points for helpful answers and propose responses. I'm saving for a pony!

  • Windows Action Center does not start

I got a virus in my computer a few weeks ago and I managed to clean it away. However, I just noticed that the action center to my computer does not start.  Whenever I try to turn it on, it shows me a message "unable to start the Windows Security Center service. In fact when I use the services.msc program, that's not even be on the list here. Firewall does not normally or the other. It just shows the message "Update your firewall settings" and when I click on the box "Use the settings recommeded" it shows me an error message "Windows Firewall cannot change some of your settings for error code 0 x 80070424.

Of course there is a lot of information on the Internet about the problem, but none of them does not seem to work in my case.

    I have Windows 7 Home premium sp1.

I even tried to repair my windows installation, but that no longer works. He refused to uppgrade to a previous version, because the drive is off course basic win7 and my current one is win7 sp1. There are also some programs that are in conflict, even if I could not even find them in my computer.

Is there any solution for this?

It's very strange. Try to create a new user account and setup the printer on this account. If this does not work, try to install the printer on another computer and see if it has the same problem. Let me know what happens.

  • Windows Media Center does not recognize an Entone Hydra box/remote control cable

I'm putting in place the WMC to work with my cable box Entone. It's not satellite, this is the area used by CCC Southslope in Eastern Iowa. There is no section Entone for activation of the box, automatic remote recognition does not take into account. When I try to teach my cable remote codes manually it will "key to continue" but never moves from the teaching of the 1 button for button 2.  I am sure that the IR receiver works and is properly plugged in, and that the batteries in the remote are fresh.

Make sure the distance between the IR receiver and the remote control is quite close, there are no obstacles between the two and the whole set up is not under the direct fluorescent light.

I'm going to suggest you go through the following article: -.

  • Windows Security Center does not recognize my antivirus

I installed a new driver for my Radeon 3450 graphic card. I had a problem with it and could not roll back so I tried restoring the system did not work. Since that time WSC won't recognize my Norton AntiVirus. I am running Vista 32 bit on an Acer Aspire M3201. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Do not think, but you may as well uninstall it now. Since then he probably won't do anything once it expires in any case.

You can try this when well even if it isn't Norton it can work. If you need assistance I could help you with teamviewer. You'll see what I'm doing
