Introduce the main password for already synchronized computers?

I have 3 computers (1 Mac, Ubuntu 2) synchronized via Firefox Sync. Currently my passwords are not protected.

Now, I would like to introduce a master password on all my computers.
But somehow, if I set up password on one computer, my passwords are still not protected on the other computers.
Even when I completely remove all data and re-sync, I can access my passwords without the master password on the other computers.

How do I proceed in order to obtain passwords on all computers that are protected by a master password while always being synchronized and at the same time ensure that there are no remains of passwords protected on any computer or server firefox?

Furthermore, if I stop the synchronization of passwords on all devices, be they deleted from the synchronization server?

Hi xaggi, must differentiate here - a master password is to protect passwords locally on a device.
strong encryption is already built-in sync, if you need any additional measures to protect passwords on synchronization servers except that choosing a password for strong account first (technical details at https://github.com/mozilla/fxa-auth-server/wiki/onepw-protocol - your data gets encrypted locally before being transmitted to the servers in synchronization, with no way to access these data to third parties such as mozilla without knowing your credentials).

If you want to use master passwords on other devices as well, you can do it, but configure them manually - this isn't a parameter that is transferred through synchronization...

You don't have to log in to Firefox. Firefox is just a browser, such as Internet Explorer. Everything you have to do is double-click it and open it. It's like Internet Explorer. If you have some sort of password extension protecting your Firefox, it's different and you need to contact the developer of the extension.

  • The "Remember passwords for sites" setting maintains have turned off whenever I close Firefox.

After the ESR 38.0.1 (and later upgrade to 38.0.5) the "Remember passwords for sites" setting is disabled after the closure of a browsing session. If I like the beginning of a new session, it works exactly as expected, but the setting never persists between sessions.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

Make sure that you are not Firefox running in permanent private browsing mode (don't remember history).

    • Tools > Options > privacy > Firefox will be: "use the custom settings for history".
    • : Uncheck the [] "always use the private browsing mode.

  • What is the main reason for the use of SERIALLY_REUSABLE in your package?

    Hi Experts,

What is the main reason for the use of SERIALLY_REUSABLE in your package?

At first glance, the most popular reason seems that some developers forget to close cursors. Therefore, it is a good way to close automatically when your code is stopped during the same session.

Second, if your business rules require that package variables still need to put the SERIALLY_REUSABLE default values is good for this.

    So, what's your reason?

    Thanks in advance.

    From http://docs.oracle.com/database/121/LNPLS/packages.htm#LNPLS99924:

After the unit of work (call Server) a SERIALLY_REUSABLE complete package, Oracle database performs the following operations:

    • Closes all open cursors.
    • No free memory (for example, memory for collection and long VARCHAR2 variables)
    • Returns the instantiation of the package to the collection of reusable instantiations kept for this package.

    Explicit cursors in SERIALLY_REUSABLE packages:

    http://docs.Oracle.com/database/121/LNPLS/packages.htm#LNPLS99923

I would not support using SERIALLY_REUSABLE instead of programming and the cursor's lifecycle management practices.

    > What is the main reason for the use of SERIALLY_REUSABLE in your package?

If your package uses large amounts of memory in the State, especially in a multiuser environment heavy wherever the memory usage adds up and memory will not clean until the session is closed and the State is not held beyond the call to the package, then there's your use case.

  • Cannot get 12.4SE to use the encrypted password for ODBC

    Hello

We run gendata/genprint on the Linux platform and move from 11.5 to 12.4SE. The MRL is in a database of DB2 installed on MVS (and connect via ODBC). We installed the 12.4SE on the server, the engines and copied the entire folder structure, including our ISP * files, our installation of 11.5 - didn't change at all. If I run the motors with an unencrypted password, it works fine. The problem I'm running is when I run with a password encrypted in the ODBC DBHandler (that is what we have in our configuration 11.5), I get a lot of mistakes (the first letter is actually absent from these messages, I'm not myself truncating):

Error in main(): unable to RunGenData(). See the errors file for more messages.

Warning in RPDefDisplayProc(): display user procedure has not been defined.

When I look to the top of DM15066, I see:

    Explanation
The call to LBYInitializeLoaders failed in function (GenTrn.c, GenData.c or GenPrint/PrintEnv.c). The usual reason that LBYInitializeLoaders do not is that the library is stored in a DBMS (DB2, Oracle or SQL Server) and the DBMS or database in the DBMS is not accessible.

    Programmer's response
Check that the DBMS or database in the DBMS used by the MRL is running. If this isn't the case, please re - initialize the DBMS or database in the DBMS.

Anyone has an idea why my installation 12.4SE dislikes the encrypted passwords?

    Thank you

I hope that I am not striking myself, but I think I have it working now. I started a support ticket about not being not able to get the cryrun utility to work on Linux, and when I hit the stage 2 ("solutions"), one of the proposed solutions talked about this specific question. He explained that specifying a folder deflib allow the utility Cryruw32.exe to place a file 'Omar', and that you then this odek file in your deflib when you try to run the documaker engine. I read the release notes, pointing to the "reference help utilities" for more information, but there is NOTHING in this guide for the Cryrun utility which mentions the file "odek".

Anywho, I made a generic file deflib, run the utility, FTP'd the file down to the deflib of my application on the Linux server, copied the encrypted password new/different in fsiuser.ini, and voila, it ran!

For those interested, it was Doc ID 2006951.1

Not sure it works so simple, but you can try

    ALTER user identified xxx outwardly;

Currently (by mistake) the userid password authentication, you may be able to restore it.

  • Why do I see all of my passwords without the master-password with database synchronized with the PC who lit master-password?

I use Firefox with Firefox Sync on different PCs and master password is set early when I started to use Firefox.

Today, I installed Firefox for Android, allowed in Firefox Sync, open the Connections tab, "Show password" button waiting for my master password entry form and... I saw my password. And all the others.

The password has never been typed on the keyboard of the Android. Firefox has never been installed on the phone before. How is that possible? Firefox stores my master-password in the web? It is very very bad. Now, those who steal my sync account can see all my passwords even without the master-password.

Firefox for Android has no knowledge of the master password set up on your desktop Firefox. By pressing the button display the password displays the passwords.

If you don't want to use a master password in Firefox for Android, you can implement that. Click the 3 menu point in the upper right corner, select settings, select privacy, select password main use and then choose a password.

Passwords are encrypted before sending them to the service using your password synchronization Sync Mozilla's. The only data that Mozilla's Sync is fully encrypted and Mozilla or another party cannot decipher. When you connect to the synchronization of the encrypted passwords are downloaded and decrypted locally.

If you want the details there is a ton of documentation to https://github.com/mozilla/fxa-auth-server#firefox-accounts-server follow the links several first for depth in explanation of the service.

  • How do I check the "Remember passwords for sites" checkbox in the Security Panel, it is grey IE inaccessible (cannot check it out).

Thanks for the help jscher, but it turns out that I was using private browsing, and passwords are stored naturally not so "remember password is disabled." This makes sense to me now.

  • How to remove the automatic password for my outlook accounts?

Recently, I noticed that when I go to access my outlook email accounts password is already filled by something much more of my password (I only see points, as expected). I want those deleted, but don't know how to 'remove '. I can delete them manually and enter my password and it works very well. How to stop these passwords "automatic"?

Hello Gladiatorlady, while you are on the login page, you can click somewhere on an empty spot & go see information page > Security > view saved passwords you can remove stored passwords.

Hello, the connection information is stored in cookies, which are not guaranteed by the password (it protects only have access to the file that stores the passwords). If you are concerned about security, you can set firefox to keep the cookies only for the current session.

    Hi all

Please HELP! Is there anyway I can reset the printer so that the admin password is also re-set. Please anyone who can help... Please help.

I really want to THANK you ALL for READING THIS & YOUR TIME. So please help if you can...

    and ideas?

    Thank you, xxVEGASxx

    * xxVEGASxx *.

You can do a reset of the printer using the LED screen on the printer.

Select Configuration, then Tools, then restore the default settings. "Restore default settings" is the last element of the list and you will have to scroll down to see it.

Which erases all settings, including the password for the printer.

To reset you describe is probably the one mentioned in this article:

    http://resetprinters.com/how-to-reset-the-HP-OfficeJet-Pro-8600-premium-all-in-one-printer/

but it's probably a deeper reset that you really need anyway.
