invalid directory name

I worked on a file, recorded a month ago. Now, I try to open it in word and get msg "the directory name is invalid".
Search does not find the file.
How do it?

Hello

How you try to access the file, from the recent files list of words?

The most common cause of this behavior is that the folder where the file has been moved or deleted.

You know the exact name and location (path) of the folder where the file?

If you do, please post this information and we can be able to help.

Let us know.

  • Impdp: Look to the right, but always an ORA-39087: directory name invalid

    It is quite mysterious, as much as I did it several more times without problems.

    I created the C:\OracleImportTest directory on the file system of the server, created a matching object in the directory DP_DIR in Oracle and granted my user read and write access to it. I've been staring at it and try different things all morning, but I always get the following results:

    Hello

    If you do not use a RAC database, I'm not sure that you use the SERVICE_NAME parameter.

    The SERVICE_NAME is used to specify the Instance (in a CAR) that you want to use for importing:

    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E11882_01/server.112/e16536/dp_import.htm#CIHHFIDE

    Otherwise, you can specify the complete connection string or set the ORACLE_SID environment variable.

    Hope this helps.

  • Cannot open or access the file with the invalid file name

    I created a book cover in Photoshop. Somehow, I give him (or changed) to an invalid file name. Now, I can't open it, rename, copy, or access. I've invested many many hours in this project and has told my client that I would deliver the file. Now I'm dead in the water. Help!

    fs999

    Beach Haven, NJ

    See if you can access it by its file name (8.3)...

    Open a command prompt window
    Start-> Run-> "cmd".
    Navigate to the directory that contains your file.  For example:
    CD "\documents and utilisateur\Mes documents\files Settings\nom.
    List the directory list alternative names:
    dir/x
    In addition to the normal name, you should also see a name 8.3 for the same file that can also be used to access this file.  It might look like BOOKCO ~ 1.EXT.  If all goes well, he will be no illegal characters in it.  At this point, try to copy a file with a normal name
    copy BOOKCO ~ 1.EXT filecopy.ext
    Then try to open it with your Photoshop application.

    Fingers crossed...

  • The directory name is incorrect

    I got a bad virus some time ago and after I got to dissolving a ton of weird stuff that happened as I can't install new programs I get the error "directory name is invalid" when I try to run the application to install.

    If necessary, do all the work with Malwarebytes in Safe Mode with network.

    In my 1st answer, there is a link for access to the logs for SFC.

    And for the installation of repair, you will need to borrow a DVD of Microsoft Vista.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Also some info on the factory settings:
    Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .
    There is no Vista free download legal available.
    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.
    They will tell you how to do this.
    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
  • Error - the file name, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect. "(0x8007007B), when you exit the system restore.
    Original title: System Restore problems
    Hello, I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit classic mode.  My system specs are listed under my signature.
    Before installing a program today, I went to create a system restore point.  In system properties > System Protection, I see that in the Protection settings > disks available there are two instances of the C: drive tagged like this:
    HDD0 (C :) (System) Protection on (selected)
    HDD0 (C :) (Missing) Protection on
    This is probably due to having recently replaced my C: drive with a disk larger to help to restore from a System Image backup.  The installation seems to succeed.  (I use now!)
    Note: other readers in Protection settings are showing off Protection.
    When I clicked on "Set up" in system properties > System Protection, I have seen that in the restoration of settings, the box "Turn off active Protection" has been selected.  I put the option button "restore system settings and previous versions of files.  In space, the slider was set to 0.  I put it to 1% (857,54 MB).
    When I tried to leave the system of Protection for the dialog to HDD0 (c) I got this error:
    There was an unexpected error in the property page:
    The file name, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect.  (0x8007007B)
    Close the property page and try again.
    I deleted all restore points, then created a new restore point.  Current usage shows now 29,48 MB.  I still get the error when I try to the OK from the dialog box.  When I click on the system restore and start the Restore Wizard that I can see the restore point, I just created.
    Any help to banish the fake player available and messages will be appreciated greatly.
    Concerning
    UTL_FILE_DIR parameter has been deprecated by oracle for direcory objects because of its security problems.
    The right thing to do is to create a directory for instance object:
    CREATE OR REPLACE DIRECTORY mydir AS 'c:\myfiles';
    Note: This does not create the directory on the file system. Must you do and make sure that oracle has permission to write to this directory of the file system.
    Then, grant permission to users who need to access for example...
    GRANT READ,WRITE ON DIRECTORY mydir TO myuser;
    Then use this object directory inside your FOPEN statement example
    fh := UTL_FILE.FOPEN('MYDIR', 'myfile.txt', 'r');
    Note: You MUST specify the object name of directory in quotes and uppercase for this works because it is a string that references a database object name that is stored in uppercase by default.
    Check if the directory $XXX_OUT is in dba_directories.
    I think that there is no directory of that name and thus the error.
    Apparently $XXX_OUT resembles an UNIX environment variable. If it's a level UNIX environment variable, then it is false... you can't use it here.
    do face a problem,
    My requirement is I have to brought from a schema for a remote database my current schema some procedure, packages, functions scripts and compile them here in my current schema.
    Basically, straight word what I have to do is, all functions, procedures, are there packages in the remote schema (that I can access by a datbase link) must be created in my current schema.
    so I got what I was trying to make is just source codes to access all_sources and creating files in a code here directory.giving.
    First, what I've done is created an Oracle Directory.
    First I created a directory called "PROC_PKG_FUNC" in drive D, then I ran the following command.
    SQL > create directory 'PROC_PKG_FUNC' as 'D:\'PROC_PKG_FUNC ';
    Created directory.
    In oracle when you say that CREATE or REPLACE the DIRECTORY you do not create a directory in the operating system, you simply create a reference to the directory in the operating system.
    So I don't know what you're asking.
    Hello George,.
    We rely on the LogFilter agent to monitor files that reside in the bearing of the directories.  If you deploy this agent and then change the properties, so that you will see an entry for check Log - 1 way and especially in your case a selection check the Log - 1 subdirectories.  If you do this, Yes, then the search will be for the last file-day although there are in the subdirectories.
    Otherwise said, in your case go back a directory and search for the particular file name and the LogFilter will search for the sub - directories and find the most recent, even if file name your directories to change names every day.
    Try using fileconnection.getName (). -->, But fail.
    Could someone give a tip to solve the problem?
    Thank you for your attention,
    You cannot print just an enumeration.
    It is a collection that contains objects, in this case of strings, as you can see on http://www.blackberry.com/developers/docs/7.1.0api/javax/microedition/io/file/FileConnection.html#li...
    You can use a while construct to browse the enum, as:
    While (files.hasMoreElements ()) {}
    System.out.println (files. NextElement());
    }
    (do not know if you do not cast explicitly to a string for sysout, iirc)
