Invisible bookmarks

I use FF 26.0 under Windows 7 SP1. Due to a failure of HD, I had to reinstall Windows and Firefox. I copied through the following files from my old profile FF, saved on a hard drive external in the new FF profile:

places.SQLite

signons3.txt

signons.SQLite

My problem is that I can't see a bookmark using Ctrl-B or show all bookmarks: the list is empty. The unusual thing is that bookmarks are there, because if I start to type a bookmark name in the address bar the URL to bookmark is displayed. Then someone can tell me why this is happening, and how can I view and change my list of bookmarks again?

I have reset FF, crushed the localstore.rdf in case the new version has been corrupted and search for 'lack of bookmarks' and similar.

It's the sort of related to the questions I've already asked on the synchronization of a single machine, which I think are visible under my profile.

See you soon

When you load a bookmarked page, the transparent star in the address bar turns yellow? If you click on the star, then click the icon pointing to the extreme right of the line that begins with the file, the dialog box should highlight the current location in the hierarchy of menus. No information?

There are extensions that only display the icons in the bookmarks toolbar.

You can use one of them if my above posted solution (which can be made without extensions) is too complicated.

  • Pull down menus, including bookmarks, become invisible when you use with firefox on a second monitor.

All the drop down menus, including bookmarks, cut & paste and main menu of Firefox button, make invisible most of the time all in assets and using Firefox on my second monitor. It works normally on my primary monitor. The menus go invisible and any passage of the mouse to select an entry, they become visible for a split second and then distributed invisible. This makes it needless to say, by selecting the correct menu very difficult entry. It started to happening after the passage from Win XP to Win 7 with Firefox 5 and now still comes with 6. I have also put Firefox on my second monitor (Win 7) at home with no problems (version 5).

I click on the bookmark button and "Bookmark this page". A drop down menu appears. When I click to open the list of folders, it shows me only a few of them. I have 8 top level of bookmark folders. It seems that four of the five of them are not open to the public when I created new bookmarks.

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions of the origin of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).

In Firefox 4, you can use one of them to start in the questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode:

    • Hold down the SHIFT key while double-clicking the shortcut from the desktop Firefox (Windows)

  • Cannot use the option button to access the folder of bookmarks hidden on a dead drive

I'm on Mac OSX 10.7.5, and I can easily access the folder on my current drive by pressing the option key (so that the hidden library appears) then get bookmarks of otherwise hidden files (since it's my new boot drive)

    BUT

I need to copy / move my LAST favorites since ten days previously, a dead hard drive. The drive is usable, just not able to start.

    BUT

Since this amazing new 'hold option on GO in the Finder menu to see the invisible library feature' (sarcasm) requires your operating system to be started, I can't access the bookmarks folder in the library. How can I do this if the Finder is not started on the dying drive? Is - this make any sense?

    Check this?

  • Why my browser is spawning invisible windows?

    Operating system: OS X 10.9

To go about four months ago, I started seeing windows without title and not selectable spawning after my browser has been open for some time (i.e. after I visited a few sites). The number of these invisible windows develops over time, but is deleted if I close the browser and start a new session. He has persisted through many new versions of Firefox.

I tried disabling all the Add-ons. Still happens.

I tried to keep track of what sites caused the problem. No correlation.

Today, I uninstalled Firefox, use AppZapper - who should have removed everything - then installed a new. The only thing I imported were bookmarks in the backup directory in my old profile folder.

.. .and it goes again. Here is a screenshot: http://imgur.com/ojcODd1

    Any help would be appreciated.

Default 'privacy.clearOnShutdown.cookies': false, is generally true. and network.cookie.lifetimePolicy': 1, is usually 0.

I don't know exactly if this is the result cookies not removed, but here is the subject: entries in config that stand version 34.

  • Why can I not have my tabs in my bookmarks toolbar more?

Since the update of this morning, I was unable to put my bookmarks toolbar where I always got (located above the tabs of the Web page), to find out if I will run the risk of hitting the bookmarks when I try to open or close... stupid tabs! And why the new invisible tabs? For the love of change... change everything a geek is delivered with default is 'good '.

Hi, a major feature of Firefox is that it is so flexible. You can install the add-on from the Restorer of classic theme and restore the tabs on the bottom. Here are the instructions: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-to-make-new-firefox-look-like-old-firefox

  • Why the my boookmarks are invisible?

Context menus, when I click on file, editing, history, bookmarks etc. are invisible, you can see a preview of the menu but nothing in it, same thing with appears right-click on shortcut menus, sometimes they will blink between visible and invisible, but 90% of the time, they are just invisible. I can always click on selections or bookmarks, but I have to guess where they are.

Try disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Bookmark tab font color

Searched the web and forum to find out how to change the color of the font of my bookmark tabs. My current theme is invisible, but the legs with black text. It is difficult to read and should be of a different color and "BOLD".

  • Firefox window becomes invisible when I try to restore the window size (larger works very well)

When I run Firefox, the window is invisible. Maximize it works, but when I try to restore it to the previous size it becomes invisible.

I had this problem with other applications, and then it was the position of the stored window which was damaged.

I looked in the registry to see if the position of the window is stored there, but could not find it there.

You can use JavaScript to fix the problem and Firefox 7.0.1 did move or resize windows with JavaScript almost impossible. You can configure your bookmark and change in about: config then only magnified, but you will need to read the notes at the bottom of the article about Firefox 7.

Summary of the steps in http://kb.mozillazine.org/Resizing_oversize_window

    1. use 'Alt + SPACEBAR' in Windows to maximize active window
    2. Change services.sync.prefs.sync.dom.disable_window_move_resize to use fake subject: config
    3. Create a bookmarklet (bookmark with JavaScript) having a
      location javascript:self.resizeTo (1024, screen.availHeight); self.moveTo(screen.availWidth-1024,0);
(1024, so reduce the width of your screen is less than 1024)
    4. Next topic: config should be the active tab
    5. Invoke the bookmark directly from your Favorites (with Firefox 7.0.1 you can no longer call JavaScript or a shortcut keyword with Javascript since the location bar involving move/resize).
  • Workspace of hive - Wiki page - want to create a bookmark

I have a long wiki page and I would like to provide bookmarks which allow the user to move the focus (jump, if you will) to the section of interest.
I understand in Sharepoint, it can be done like this (ignoring the braces commentary):
    <!-< DIV > & amp; nbsp; < / DIV >top< / DIV >-->

However, there is no DIVs and anchors are supported.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Duane,

Yes, this can be done in the Wiki with a bit of juggling.

Navigating to internal anchors within the Wiki page must be made of small components of HTML plugin. (the example is in tags to allow the html code to be displayed as directed by your example.)

Here is an example. Set up the sections of navigation - probably at the top of the page - by exchanging the VKI markup editor and adding an html tag

... Insert here the usual wiki markup

At the point you want to jump you get into another section of html tag

    >

    >

    ... repeat if necessary.

You can include named tags, i.e. to put a text between the to be displayed or simply tags which will provide invisible jump.

  • bookmarking header text

Is it possible to add a link or a bookmark for the text that I put in the header or the footer for PDF pages? My goal is to add the text of the INDEX and it have a link to the index page. And I would like to add this to every page of my PDF document, so when users click on the text, it takes them there without having to actually the bookmarks column is displayed. TIA

Consider using a button to create the link. You can do so that the color of the border and background are transparent, making it invisible. I would create a named destination that shows the Index page and set up the action of the mouse to the top of the button with a "go to a page view" which uses this named destination. You can then automatically copy the key to all pages by clicking on the right (using the select an object) and select: duplicate... and specify the pages you want to copy the button to.

  • I can't go to my bookmarks after update for Sierra

I have a MacBook Pro. I just updated this week to Sierra with no problems, but now when I click on multiple points in the upper left corner to reveal my favorites and my playlist only, it displays the top sites page and does not open my favorites and reading list, as it used to.

Can someone tell me how to access my bookmarks and playlist in the Sierra? I'm sure it's something in the settings or something escapes me. My Bookmark Bar is the top of the page, yet. I can't find my bookmarks and reading list.

    Thank you

I thought about it, I had to go to Favorites on top and tell Safari to display in the Sidebar again.
