Involke Media Player

I want to play a music file in my application.

I can load the file and play using Media Player. But it would be preferable to involke the media player a dplay so there. If I do that I must have the media player on screen or can I still hide it and keep the background music?

Can I do this on the Dev Alpha too?

Hi @JeffLemon,

Not sure if you already had it resolved but answering the case where:

For applications where the primary use case is the consumer multimedia (audio/video), you should do your own Media Player Page with your own user interface controls (everything following the guidelines of BB10 UI and keep similar to the music apps and video which are grouped - as users get used to these features). There are actually quite a few waterfalls simple examples of applications that use the API of Cascades MediaPlayer.

But yes, if it is a simple part of the application and that you don't have enough time to make your own Media Player Page, you can simply call the core Media Player map app and it's certainly better to force the user to download/save the file to play it through the app music base. The invocation of the app would be like navigating to a new Page (if the user may at any time, glance shot / push the button back like any other NavigationPane Page). The invocation ID is like any other invocation.

But note since it would be a different application that you call, you will not be able to change the user interface components in the player card app.

See you soon,.

  • Open Firefox Windows Media Player for video files

I need to make Firefox to open the actual Windows Media Player application (not a plugin, the window real app) when clicking on video links, for example, WMV. These file types are already associated in Windows Explorer with WMPlayer, but this has no effect on Firefox.

What happens now is that, after you have clicked on a video, I get a screen black with yellow icon of VLC Player (VideoLAN VLC installed on my PC) in the Center and no video. I don't want to launch VLC or internal plug-ins.

  • Help ejecting a USB media player

    Hey Apple community support.

I hope someone can help me with this. I'm a decent person tech, but far from the level of knowledge that most people seem to have, so if you are trying to help them, don't forget not that I'm a novice you may literally he dumb down for me.

    Problem:

I recently went on a trip and took lots of photos on SanDisk 32 GB cards. I have a docking station USB with the card inserted and recognized on the desktop of my MacBook Air. I started to transfer the files from the folder DCIM by selecting all the disk and try to move them to a folder I created on the desktop. The file transfer was fine, but time consuming. After an hour or two, I told him to stop copying. This function has never been resolved.

    Solution try so far:

I try to eject the drive by dragging it to the trash (showing the eject icon when I go on it) and I get the message, "volume cannot be ejected because it is currently in use...". »

I open the activity monitor and tried to find the name of the reader, who is not listed. I left the USB drive options in the activity without result monitor. I can still see the red light on the media player.
I don't want to damage the photos of this once in a life journey, so I have not removed the USB media player without eject properly and did not attempt to stop the machine as one, that can be bad... and two, I doubt he'd let me without forcing an abandonment, although it may help me identify what process to kill so that I can restart.

    Any ideas? Thoughts? Suggestions?

I have what looks like most of the pictures in a folder on the desktop, is simply not sure if it's to each of them... and the problem so far (I don't know if it's because the media is always 'in service' or not) I can see the icons .jpeg, but he cannot click on it to see the pictures... (again once I guess because it is in use) but I'm afraid of losing data if they are not transfer completely...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!

Finder sometimes has problems when it receives a large number of files to copy - but this isn't a problem. On the other hand your initial problem (the copy of the slow copy files) may be due to a problem with the card. Once you have copied the files to reformat.

Failure of the Finder to leave a copy command is a fairly common problem that can be solved by stopping Finder. Hold down command and Option and then type Escape. This will bring up the menu to force out. Choose Finder and click Restart. It should restart on its own. If it doesn't, try clicking on the Finder on the dock icon. Sometimes you don't have the choice, but force him to leave the computer when the Finder dies suddenly. (Hold down power for 10 seconds).

Because Finder has not left the copy files are in fact still in use. Leave the Finder should solve this problem. Even if files in use error that appears you should get the option to force eject restarted Finder. Who will be safe to do so. Ejection of strength so that files are read is not dangerous - when they are written that it is.

Finally, try to copy a small set at once and not any map in one fell swoop.

  • Media Player required

I have an iMac late 2009, with OS X El Capitan 10.11.5, Safari 9.1.1. Recently, I tried to open something, and I said "Required Media Player." But in trying to download it, it says Power PC is no longer needed. How to work around this problem?

You do not have. Media Player is a Windows application.

Try the free VLC app for viewing.

  • Firefox will not npr Media Player launch

Firefox 27 on Win 7. I found that the only way to solve this problem of not being able to launch the npr media player is to reinstall Firefox. I wouldn't do it. What are the possible solutions? When I click to listen to a program that does nothing. Then he stops regularly working again?

I think I have the solution to two of my questions:
    1. do not load the npr Media Player
    2. in Firefox close, closing not the .exe file I had to unload manually in order to be able to start Firefox.

The solution seems to be to remove the add-on XMARKS 4.2.1.

This seemed like a great add-on, but not for this expense. Here I have another who works maybe?

Thanks a lot for your help.

  • 21 of Firefox opens not mp3s in Windows Media Player

I put the option program of file type for the two 'windows media player' and 'request' and Firefox always opens the mp3 in a generic player in a new tab MP3s played in the popup from Windows Media Player (after download) fine in the latest version of Firefox 20.X. I tried to disable the Microsoft WMP plugin (the only way to prevent them from opening in a new tab using Quicktime was to disable the plugin (QuickTime).

MIME MP3 settings in Quicktime format have been unchecked and the settings of Windows extension all are defined on Windows Media Player as the default player for MP3s.

Hello sewing1243, 21 firefox now uses the codecs that are included in your operating system that allow him to directly read mp3 and mpeg (also for html5 videos). in order to disable that, enter about: config in the address bar of firefox (confirmed the message information where it appears) and search for the preference named media.windows - media - foundation.enabled. Double-click it and change its value to false.

Another way to download files without tweaking the above-mentioned preference would be to click right on the link that leads to an mp3 file or right click on the drive in firefox and choose to download the file like that...

  • Cannot download plug in for windows media player. Have used the site to download and it says it worked, but the plug-in does not appear on my list of plug-ins.

I tried to hear an appeal of a Web conference. Received a message, necessary plug windows media. Check my plug ins, no windows media. Reading about firefox support tutorial. Clicked on download. Had a window that requires repair or change. Tried to fix it and then change. Need better guidance on how to finish download. Download the message passed, but after firefox closing and re-opening, no still no plug-in for windows media in the list of plug-ins. Go to site and could not hear Conference.
Reading support forum. Message while using about: config. Tried, typed in on: config in Start menu, but do not see anything that looked like I could change for real like message said.
solved by opening internet explore and go to the website and listen to the conference call on windows media player. There was a message saying: If you want to enable media player click here. Not so heard Conference.
Tried using chrome. You have to listen to the Conference yesterday. Today, he had the same message you need to plug in when I tried to follow the instructions in connect, it was just as confusing and useless like firefox. Most is that I tried to make any statement in the suggestions forum for firefox and can not get the windown media connect to appear in my list of plug-ins and can not hear calls for conference on firefox.
Chrome said that they worked on connect available to the chrome store.
I agree with the comments that I was able to go to web sites and to hear the calls before firefox did an update that removed my windows media plug. The fix simple download, two from windows, does not, apparently because firefox cannot find the fix. This isn't for lack of user, and it seems that windows attempted to provide a fix, and firefox does not recognize.
Bottom line, it is easier to use another browser, that trying to get windows connect multimedia player installed on firefox. What is a browser, if you can not hear an appeal on the Web site the browser will take you to? Please make it easy install windows media branch on firefox. Thank you..

If you get the screen to change/repair, it means that the Setup program has detected that you have already installed the plugin.

Do you not see the file here:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\Plugins

Its file name is: np - mswmp.dll

If the file is missing, I suggest to delete and then reinstall the plugin.

Edit: By removing and then reinstalling I mean using the delete button under the modification and repair buttons in the Setup program, and then run Setup to reinstall.

  • Why Firefox instructions for Media Player do not work?

I tried to follow the instructions of Firefox to download the plugin for Windows Media Player. Say the instructions to save the file on my desk when you are prompted to save. However, when you are prompted, after clicking on 'save', a blank pop-up window appears with the title of "downloads" at the top. Then a small article appears and disappears from the bottom of the screen that says the download was successful. There is no option to save it to the desktop.

The Windows Media Player plugin is not displayed under tools and modules, so I guess it was never installed. Explorer always uses very well. Does anyone have a solution? Thank you.

  • Problem with Windows Media Player Audio sync DivX playback in full screen

    Hello

I have found lately that when playing videos on Windows Media Player divx mode full screen audio is out of sync.  If the video is played in window mode, there is no problem.  I had no such problem in the past, but now for about 1 month or so, I have this problem.

I have fitted iq508a to vista 64-bit, with the latest drivers delivered HP installed (using the HP update utility)-does anyone else have this same problem too?

    Thanks in advance

I can't believe! I solved the problem with this problem of video audio sync during playback in full screen!

While watching the Pineapple Express, I thought WTF I'll take another closer look at this, and while they were smashimg their cell phones so that they could not be found by triangulation, (don't ask - u just I have to watch - stoner movie )...

in any case, I looked under tools options in WMP.  I unchecked the option on the performance tab "use video smoothing"-the video as reloaded and bingo! everything in harmony!

BTW, I checked my another PC running Vista 32 bit and the option ' use video smoothing ' also exists and it is checked if this seems to be a problem with WMP works on Vista 64 bit or running desktop Touchsmart of WMP... In case I am much happier now...
