  This procedure is a diagnostic test. It is unlikely to solve your problem. Don't be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

  The test is intended to determine if the problem is caused by a third-party software that loads automatically at startup or logon, by a device, by a police conflict or corruption of system files or some system caches.

  Disconnect all devices wired except those required to test and remove all the expansion cards from secondary market, as appropriate. Start in safe mode and log on to the account of the problem.

  Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for additional instructions.

  Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things work at all, including an audio output and a Wi - Fi connection on some models. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.

  The login screen is displayed even if you usually connect automatically. You need your password to log on. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.

  Test in safe mode. Same problem?

  After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and make sure you always have the problem. View the results of the test.

EXE starts and the audit system is being initialized.  Is there anyway to stop this temporary profile/access and return to normal use?

  It is very easy to give the users rights to other folders by right-clicking on a folder or a file and selecting Properties, then security (re para below I just checked prior to this announcement and there is a link on the Security screen 'learn on the access control and permissions'. If logged in as an administrator, then you can do what you like, connected as a user for you only the things you 'clean '. However if it is simple to do, you should also understand its effects. If your machine is used only by yourself or people that you are happy to have provided full access to the hard drive then you don't remove no permission and that you are confident, no one will remove/mess with the files they don't own then begin.

  It would be a good idea to type "permissions" in windows 'Help and Support' and spend time following the topics that seem to be relevant. A quick google didn't find an idiots guide - everything seems to be 'network' based and has too much information. I think that following the instructions in this Microsoft Knowledge Base article [how to configure file sharing in Windows XP | http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040] will allow you to get what you want in the safest way. I am new to Windows 7, but have no reason to think there will be much difference in the "screens".   Have a 2007 Mac Pro 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon (OS 10.7.5). Today both screens started having strange pixelated, modes of travel, and we can not access files or applications.

  Thought that maybe the video card went bad, but would not be prevented from using the apps, or click files would it? Have to keep restarting the box. Working temporarily, then pixilation and locked files races again.

  I suspect that the pixilation is due to a video card problem.

  Open the cover, with Mac off nd unplugged and clean inside. If the map includes a fan make sure it turns freely.

  The directory that serves as a common repository for application-specific data that is shared by all users is CommonApplicationData.
