iPad Pro & USB drives?

Now that the pro is out, I'm curious to know if she has any improvement on the situation of the USB flash drive?  I keep important files on a USB key encrypted sometimes, I wear my MacBook just to be able to open a text file for some data.  My iPad 2 Air cannot play these discs, only import pictures if you use the dongle kit usb camera.  Can I Pro has added this feature?

Thank you!

No, it has not.

The iPad does not support USB keys. There are some wireless flash drives that can be used, but not the classical records. I suggest you transfer files to a computer and their synchronization then back to the iPad via iTunes.

  • iPad support external drive Pro

    Hey!

I want to improve my office as soon as possible and I watched the keynote yesterday when the new iPad Pro was released. I thought about buying a new MacBook, but when I watched the keynote I was wondering if it would be possible to buy an iPad Pro instead of a MacBook, since all applications, I also ran on iOS.

My main question is tho, if it would be possible to connect an external hard drive for the iPad Pro and still access my data on it as I do now with my Mac Mini.

Is there someone who could help me?

    Thanks in advance

No, iOS is not compatible with the help of a central external device as a file storage system.  All content of the app are actually related to the application itself and stored on the device in a protected memory aid assigned to the app.  In addition, while there are counterparts to your OS X programs, you will need to purchase the versions iOS separately in the form of programs coded for OS X will not work on an iOS device.

I love my iPad 2 Air and Pro, but they are not at all 100% true, for my MacBook Pro replacements. On the one hand, my iPad and iPhone is saved on my Mac via iTunes.  There are only two ways to back up an iOS - WiFi to iCloud, or wifi or USB device to iTunes on a computer (I use both for redundancy).  Without computer and iTunes, you are limited to only a backup to iCloud, while a backup encrypted iTunes has more content (all APA passwords, for example, are NOT part of iCloud or not encrypted iTunes backup).

  • Backup on external hard drive on iPad pro

Is it possible to save an iPad pro on an external drive if I don't have access to my macbook

Not directly, no.  Backups cannot be achieved on the wifi to iCloud or via USB or wifi and iTunes on a computer.  There is no other mechanism available for iOS backup.

  • You can use an external hard drive with iPad Pro

A disk external drive can be used with an iPad Pro?

You can do it wirelessly with devices such as Wireless Connect from Sandisk stick.

    https://www.SanDisk.com/home/mobile-device-storage/connect-wireless-stick

There are other devices that run a similar feature, but the Sandisk Connect is incredibly portable and usable also as a USB drive (even if it is a USB 2.0 device).  It is now available in capacities of 16 GB to 200 GB.

I don't know of anyway to connect an iPad Pro on an external drive via a wired connection... Although it may be possible.

  • iPad pro PowerPoint file on USB

Is there a way to transfer Office 365 files on a USB key on the iPad Pro? I travel around the world and often have to give a file, for example powerpoint file to someone for a presentation. If I replace my Macbook Pro with iPad Pro, I need to be able to get the presentations and other files on a USB key. I have watched like SanDisk and other apps/devices but can't find a solution. The iPad Pro would be a great replacement if I could do this surgery.

This USB SanDisk flash drive will work!

You transfer files from iPad to an on WIfI USB flash drive.

It works with any iDevice/Android device., I use one for my iPad and my mother has one for his iPad.

It works for what it takes to make.

    https://www.SanDisk.com/home/mobile-device-storage/connect-wireless-stick

You have to reformat the hard drive on a computer of ExFat for MS-DOS Fat like many current and former electronic devices that can access reading/USB flash drives cannot read the format ExFat, but CAN read the format MS-DOS.

The limitation of the Fat MS-DOS format is that you can't have a single data file not exceeding 4 GB in size.

In addition, you can create structures of folders on the computer, OR you can create files on this USB key through the iPad.

This drive has a special iOS app that you use to access the drive.

Also the WiFi signal and the nature of the drive flash memory allows you to store and stream video content to the reader.

  • Edition and sending of the docs of transcend usb with iPad pro

    Hello

I have the smaller iPad Pro, key onboard and transcend usb. I work a lot overseas and I'm Editor. I have all my work files on usb transcend that I use in my PC in my office. From the PC I can change all of the files stored on the usb transcend and re-record - it's the simaple. Now here I am away from the office and want to be able to do the same thing on th iPad. This seems to be far from simple.

I've resorted to sending the images separately by e-mail, but my designers like files to send in lots of 5 - normally I use wetransfer, but this option doen't appear to be available directly from the usb. Can someone hel please?

I'm starting to think that I should have saved money and bought a small tablet of Windows!

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Elaine

Your question seems to dive in the 'how' I make things (for example, using USB, which does not exist on an iPad).  Like the people you work with don't use Apple hardware, I suggest you reorient your thinking to 'what' to do (for example, transfer [something, perhaps of the images and/or files] to my creators).

    First of all

This can be true and doesn't really matter since the iPad has a lightning connector and not a USB port.  However, the App Store verification reveals that in fact there is an app available for the iPad wetransfer (at least in the United States):

    https://iTunes.Apple.com/us/app/WeTransfer/id765359021?Mt=8

If one of your colleagues have Apple gear, there are easier ways to transfer work.  There are also plans to improve the iWork (Pages, Numbers, Keynote) applications that run on your iPad to enable real-time collaboration.  These plans have been announced to Apple product announcement on 7 September.  In my opinion, that they would even offered to owners of non-Apple products that use iCloud.

  • Can anyone recommend a good for a MacBook Pro USB flash drive?

I have just implemented a new of the retina end 2015 13 "MacBook Pro and you are looking for a 128 GB + good for fast backups flash drive while looking around a hard drive for use with Time Machine or SuperDuper.

I'm particularly interested in: (1) A flash drive that is pre-formatted for a platform of Mac OS X for recent models. (Couldn't find it from what I saw on Amazon.)  (2) I believe that the current MacBook Pro USB 3.0, but yet there seems to be a lot of disc memory flash USB 2.0 autour.  Anyone found a good 3.0 flash drive Mac compatible in size 128 - or 200 GB? (3) If you happen to have one, it would be swell to find a drive lean enough to fit comfortably in a port USB of the MacBook, even if something is next to him.

    Thanks - much appreciated suggestions!

You can format external hard drive for Mac OS X with disk utility.

  • Connect iPad Pro 12.9 "on PC 3 USB port using the new USB 3 iPad camera connection kit

Hello. I would like to connect my iPad Pro 12.9 "to my PC using the speed of the USB 3 port of lightning of the iPad for faster synchronization with back ups. I bought the new camera USB 3 connection and A kit to A 3 USB cable, put everything together and down to iTunes, but it does not recognize the iPad. Has anyone tried this before?

You don't need the Camera Connection Kit for this. Connect your iPad to your PC using the lightning to the USB cable supplied with the iPad.

  • Is there a risk of overloading a pencil Apple via a USB, rather than in the iPad Pro?

I just bought an iPad Pro and the pencil of Apple. I understand that the pencil can be loaded without using the iPad. How much time will it take to receive a full charge and is there a risk on reload. Can I plug to charge all night so I have a full load to shoot during the day? Unfortunately, I found no information on this. The booklet that came with it didn't cover this issue.

I appreciate any help I can get in this regard.

Is there a risk of overloading a pencil Apple via a USB, rather than in the iPad Pro?

    Lol of course not.

No company could design a product that would allow it to be overloaded.

Is it allowed to charge an iPad pro using the provided cable connected directly to a usb hub (total 2 ports labeled amp 2.1) on a generic power strip? Does make a difference if another device (iPhone 6) load at the same time? This may damage the iPad pro?

If the ipad pro does not get a higher voltage then 5volts then nothing is capable of ruining in terms of workload
