iPhone 6 + backup restore help!

I recently I forgot my access code to access my iPhone 6 +, & after too many attempts that I locked, as I kept trying it reset my iPhone with what looks like the factory settings.

I want to backup my iPhone from the cloud on the same computer that I backed up on previously.

But my iPhone does not appear in the devices and that is to say that I have not saved in the cloud, I have?

Can anyone help please?

Thanks in advance

Hi there DacCoopsta,

I understand that you encounter some difficulties to locate the backup that you created before you erase your device. I would be happy to provide a few tips to help!

If you don't see any backups to restore from iCloud, make sure you use the good Apple ID to your iCloud account. Take a look at this site that goes on the way to locate the iOS device backups:

Find backups of your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch - Apple Support

Don't forget that your backup could be located in iTunes or iCloud. Once you have found your backup, you can use the steps in the article below to restore from your backup:

See you soon.

  • iPhone 6 s - 100% carbon copy backup/restore to iTunes - is that possible?

    Hello

I am trying to find a way to save/restore an iPhone via iTunes installation so that the restoration of places any return on the phone with the same configuration (essentially, an exact clone of the original installation that is being backed up).

Questions that I met with attempts to use iTunes for backup/restore:

    • Passwords and other security information do not restore.
    • Applications not getting restored
    • WIFI networks not get restored
    • attached randomly do not restore (some, not all).

iCloud backups solve this problem (sort of).

    • It takes an internet connection takes too long and medium, and you are left without a phone can be used for a period of time, so that the restore process is complete. I'd rather do it via iTunes.
    • Passwords and other security information do not restore.

Any help please? In the end, I'm looking for a way to backup my phone to a PC and restore it so it looks identical to how it did before the backup.

For a long time (perhaps in the iPhone 4/5 days?) this process described above works, 100%. Apple changed something in recent years.

    Thank you

    Bob

The backup does not contain music or apps, because they should be in the media library iTunes on your computer, and if you synchronize right after that the restoration of the backup is then reinstalled. Normally this is done automatically when you perform a restore if you not to interrupt.

Passwords and health data are only saved if you choose encrypted backup.

There is no way to make a backup "image" of the phone, but if you use Encrypted and let run until the end, that it will restore everything the way it was.

Visit Time Machine FAQ of Pondini helps with Time Machine. It is a vast site with almost everything that you need for using Time Machine. You will not find a better resource for Time Machine in one place. Due to the disappearance of James Pondini is the site is no longer updated. Therefore, some information may be somewhat outdated.

Yes, you can as long as you understand that you will lose everything that is currently on the phone.

    (1) settings > General > reset > erase content and settings

That will make the iPhone as new.  Then, during the installation process it again once will ask you if you want to restore from an existing backup.  You can then restore the scheduled backup.

  • lost or stolen iPhone. It is w / 'Find my iPhone', later received email that it has been found. No call and impossible to recover, now phone is in offline mode. I am leasing through the iPhone upgrade program. Help, please.

6 sec more lost/stolen iPhone. Turned on the 'lost' Mode and displays the number to call if found on-screen. It is w / "Find my iPhone", went up, no response from any home in the area. Later received an email that it was found, still no call to the number on the screen. Several unsuccessful attempts to get it back, now the phone is in offline mode and says that the history of the site is not available. I left a note on all the doors in the place indicated on the "find my iPhone" describing my phone lost and left a number to call. I am leasing through the iPhone upgrade program. Help, please.

There is no way to locate now, unless the one who found it exerts a force on you contact on this number you posted

The good news is, since you have find my iPhone, they will not be able to reuse the phone even if they are trying to restore. Unless they know your password, or you have a valid proof of purchase AGFI won't be deleted.

So if the person who found the phone knows about it, he or she would rather go back because it would be of no use to them.

  • backup/restore problems

So, recently, my iPhone 6 had a lot of questions (most applications would be closed from the opening, I couldn't update apps, all the texts and iMessages disappeared, Messages turns uses a lot of storage despite the removal of all, etc.) and a person on one of these forums recommended to back up the phone, restore factory settings and then restore the backup to the phone. I got no problem with that, until I tried to restore the iTunes backup. When I try to do, I get the following message: "iTunes can't restore iPhone «...»» "because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iPhone, which is being restored. "I read that to solve this problem, I just need to delete the backup but the problem is that it's the only backup I had to restore my phone. Is there a way to recover this backup or is my only option again?

    Thank you in advance.

It seems that the backup could have caused all the problems you had. Backup, restore factory settings and then restore the backup are a standard troubleshooting step, but if the backup is corrupt, you can not use and you can not get corrupted.

You can restart all and try again, but I think that the results will be the same. You need to restore as new.

  • change the backup/restore disc

can I change this disk will my backup/restore point to? He uses my external drive now even if I didn't change it. I have a laptop & cannot bet that the external drive connects or is connected.

    HI RJHinSA,
You can go there. This is guidance on how to change to the high places.
If you need more information, simply open help, support and type "how to make the backup.
Change when you save your files

When you configure your computer to automatically back up files, you specify a location where the files will be stored. You can change this location if you run out of space in the current location or you want to change the type of storage location (for example, a DVD, a hard disk on your computer or a shared folder on another computer on a network).

    1. Click to open the backup center and restoration.

    2. Click on change settings.

    3. Click on modify backup settings and follow the steps in the wizard. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

I would like to know where exactly the backup is, so I can save to another location, for example Dropbox.

  • ActiveSync let me backup once, then no more backup/restore option

    Hello!

I use ActiveSync 4.5 and WinXP S3, but it is also on the SP2. I have a HTC P3300 with Windows Mobile 6.

The first time I plugged on the desktop computer, he offered to perform a backup and created a. STG file. The thing is, after that it is synchronized with the default options, which included crushing 0 Outlook 2007 contacts in my contacts 1700 in the HTC. I try now to get back them with the STG file but whenever I connect my HTC on the desktop, the option "Backup/restore" disappears on the menu 'options', which is kind of weird because if I disconnect the device I see the option (grayed out, however).

Any ideas would be very appreciated :(

    Thank you in advance,

    K.

.... I've been there and done that. Arrgh!

So, here is a link to the site XDA... phone mobile site btw. There is a STGviewer that should allow you to open the file and remove what you need.

  • Planning Protection System (Backup/Restore Points)

It's actually a repeat of my previous post unresolved since a couple of months.  I want to program creating AUTOMATIC backup/restore by 'System Protection' points.  I don't know of DATA BACKUPS.  I just "let the question slide"... pending, until today when I received an e-mail inquiry HP which brought me back to the question.  I decided not to continue the previous thread, because it degraded in my frustrating rantings.  Here is my original post.

    . . .

I have a HP Pavilion Elite HPE-110 t, Windows7 Home Premium computer.  I want to change my schedule for the creation of the Protection system of backups of the system (not the data files).  It seems that it is currently set for monthly backups (unless, I suppose, a '' significant '' event occurs).  In accordance with the recommendations of the new documentation of the computer, I have not shut down the computer during the night; I let it go to sleep so that automatic "tricks" can occur on the calendar.  Occasionally, the next morning, he has rebooted & waiting for my password.

I just had a problem with the icons on the desktop freeze... has not responded to the command.  I considered what to do a system restore, but in my research, I was told that there is no restore point.  I started to panic... I didn't know that the magic words were "system protection".  Now, I think that what I was told was that my data had not been automatically saved.  Finally, I took a deep breath and restarted.  Fortunately, which fixed the problem of the frozen... icon but he left the more serious problem of no backup/restore points.  I dropped everything & began to study.

Finally, I ran into Control Panel / System / System Protection & found 2 points, including 1 that is apparently automatic around midnight the 21st of each month restoration.  I decided to increase the frequency of twice a month.  But I'm only the DVD RW drive to a backup destination.  This is not what I want.  I want the same destination (original) does not change. I guess that's the drive C (or D-Drive).  All I want to do is change the programmed frequency.

I used before backup/restore points on other computers without problems.  Everything was pretty simple & straight forward.  What I'm missing here?

Thanks for any help that can be provided.

    Hi Jim,.

Well I think I have a solution.  It seems that Scheduler tasks won't that create 1 catering point in a 24 period time - after 24 hours has passed, it will create another since the first trigger, which becomes valid.  Forinstance so (after 24 hours), if the trigger is to create a restore point at startup and at 09:00, if you started the computer at 08:00 a restore point will be generated and relaxation at 09:00 will be ignored.  That is why, in a time which is within 24 hours of the last created Restore point does not work.  In the screenshots following are parameters that should allow you to set a time for your restore point planned to create.  There is a way to check if it works - after setting the calendar, you must remove the existing restore Points.  Then, you should find that the next outbreak valid (ie the defined time period) will now create a restore point as shown in the last screenshot.  Details on the removal of the existing restore points is at the end of the third screenshot - just remember when setting the time you want your restore point to create, give yourself plenty of time to edit the task and remove the existing restore points.

With the above setting is applied, Task Scheduler to close, open windows control panel, open system, click on the System Protection link, click on configure and then click on Remove to remove the existing restore points.  Once completed, just wait the time set the trigger to activate.  After a few minutes, you should see the task is executed correctly and created a restore when you - these are my results below.

As you can see, the Restore Point reports correctly that it was created at 19:50, the time that I put in the Task Scheduler.

If you have any questions in this regard, please let me know.

    Kind regards

    DP - K

  • Backup/restore of errors Windows 8 feature is not available in a portable workstation environment

I get the following error message when you try to disable the calendar jobs '

Backup/restore of errors Windows 8 feature is not available in a portable workstation environment

    I'm on a desktop computer,

Thank you James. This procedure has helped and I can see the option to backup again to 8/7 of window control center. What I did wrong in the first place was canceled the backup on an external disk, formatted the disc one plugged a new drive. Then, I was not able to click on the link "Backup." Its now fixed. Is some other problem with the problem of recognition of backup or drive window, try this procedure by Michael below.

Follow these steps to remove the value of register Windows To Go:

    • Open regedit.exe
    • Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control
    • Delete this value: PortableOperatingSystem

You'll probably notice that the problem reappears when you connect a USB drive in the PC. Subsequent removal of this drive will cause the PC to crash. This occurs because the unique identifiers of the USB drive and the internal HARD disk are the same. To resolve this problem, the simplest method is to "clean" the disc. A cleaning will destroy all data on the disk, so backup first.

    1. Open diskpart.exe
    2. Type "list disk" to determine the number of disk to the USB drive.
    3. Type "select disk #", where # is the number of disk you determined.
    4. Type "own."
    5. Type "exit".

Restart your PC. You can use diskmgmt.msc and diskpart.exe to repartition your drive USB to use it normally.

  • X100e backup/restore

Hi, I just bought a x100e with preinstalled Windows 7 and wonder how to make a system backup/restore correctly. I need to install Ubuntu in a few days and create/edit a few partitions that exist (I guess that this will replace mbr) and I want to be able to restore the initial state of the system. So, what's the best "workflow" to save/restore, System State or reset to factory settings x100e (witch is probably most interesting for me) in my dulling?

Hi and welcome to the forum!

You can create discs of recovery on a USB drive or burn it to DVD by attaching an external optical drive, old method to see this:- http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/Creating-x100e-recovery-media-on-USB-stick/ta-...

With recovery discs, you can restore your system to factory settings any time you want.

This before installing Linux, otherwise you will not be able to once you have installed Ubuntu.

    I hope this helps.

I'm trying to import and backup/restore/Choose file... / after backup correctly and I see the file, but there is no JSON extension. What can I do?

I backed up my favorites using 'import and backup/Backup' on an external HD, installed Windows 10 and went to restore my bookmarks and noticed the file named "Firefox bookmarks-2015-09-04"had no extension and does not work."

Please advise! Thank you! Sincerely, s

If you add the .json extension, it works then? Why people who design browsers or extensions them do create files with no extension name, in spite that these extension names are essential to make the files can be restored? I could never understand that.

You will find this bookmarking a page (by clicking the star next to the address, or to go in bookmarks > bookmark this page is precisely what we must remember the pages.) This is a feature common in web browsers, and it's very very useful in many situations, including the memory of the location of the pages that you want to see later, allowing access to the pages that you use frequently and other things too.

If you want to know about session restore, there is a helpful support article here which I think also has information on version 3.0. However, I invite you, once more, update, since older versions (including 3.0) are is more sustained and have known security flaws. In addition, you will not lose any no matter what functionality at all (unless you use modules that are no longer usable by the newer versions, in which case you must contact the authors of Add-ons for support and ask them to update their software), is free and very easy to do.

If you need other help at all, whatever it is, tips, troubleshooting, step-by-step procedures, feel free to ask here.
