change the backup/restore disc

can I change this disk will my backup/restore point to? He uses my external drive now even if I didn't change it. I have a laptop & cannot bet that the external drive connects or is connected.

HI RJHinSA,
You can go there. This is guidance on how to change to the high places.
If you need more information, simply open help, support and type "how to make the backup.
Change when you save your files

When you configure your computer to automatically back up files, you specify a location where the files will be stored. You can change this location if you run out of space in the current location or you want to change the type of storage location (for example, a DVD, a hard disk on your computer or a shared folder on another computer on a network).

1. Click to open the backup center and restoration.

2. Click on change settings.

3. Click on modify backup settings and follow the steps in the wizard. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Welcome on the Support forums.

To change the location of the backup file, you should first be connected to the Link. Then select 'Préférences' at the top right. In the "Général" tab, you should see the option to change the folder backup at the bottom of the list. Click the file folder icon and you will be prompted to navigate to where you want to backup to be saved.

• RMAN change the backup of data files directory

Hi all!

I have question for RMAN. My backups keep in fast_recovery_area (/ opt/oracle/fast_recovery_area). I want to change the path of my fast_recovery_area to another location. I've changed that through SQL more command: ALTER SYSTEM SET DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST = ' / opt/oracle/backup ' SCOPE = BOTH SID ='* ';

Now, my fast_recovery_area is in this path/opt/oracle/backup. In the fast_recovery_area, I have 4 folders (archivelog, autobackup, backupset datafile). All folder is created in the new location and RMAN write successfully the file on the new location except a single file (datafile). How can I change this option for this folder that writes to the new location. P.S datafile directroy have * dbf files backed up nightly.

Thank you!

You use an incremental update strategy of backup. The level 1 backup is always aware of the 'previous' 0 level backup in the old location, so it is not a fee L0 backup in the new location. You can remove the old backup, run a BACKUP DUPLICATION and OVERLAPPING COPY OF DATABASE for Oracle to be aware that the L0 backup no longer exists. Then, run a fresh backup for Oracle create a new backup of L0.

Windows Live Photo Gallery will help you view the photo format all.

The Photo Gallery is not included with Windows 7, you will need to download the Windows Live Photo Gallery from the following link.

• Resume the backup restore

Hello comrades,.

BD: 10.2.0.4

OS: SunOS 5.10

The scenario is this: I lost all my data files, but it's OK. I have the TAPE backup of them. This database has 1150 datafiles.

I put my DB in condition to mount and began a COMPLETE restoration/recovery:

run
{
restore database;
recover database;
}

Everything was going well until someone killed my Media Manager layer restoration work, thinking it was a silent session:

RMAN-10038: database session for channel ORA_SBT_TAPE_1 terminated unexpectedly

So I started again:

RMAN> run
2> {
3>    restore database;
4>    recover database;
5> }

....

creating datafile fno=38 name=/raid_3/oradata/PV/PV_C03_NRAW_000_2014100100_001.dbf
RMAN-00571: ===========================================================
RMAN-00569: =============== ERROR MESSAGE STACK FOLLOWS ===============

ORA-27038: created file already exists
Additional information: 1

Now oracle complains that the file that is already on the disc. I know that!

Is it possible to tell oracle to restore everything, but directly the data already restored files? In other words, is there a way to resume my restoration process, or what I have to manually type the data files I want to restore instead of the whole database (don't forget that I have several data files of tha 1 k)? I've been in file 760 to 1150.

Thank you

Rodrigo

I think that it would not be re-attempt to data files that have been restored successfully. The re-attempt would be for those whose food was still in course (i.e. have been partially restored). You need to remove these partial files manually and try again. Check v$ datafile and v$ datafile_header (that you can query the database in editing mode) to see what Oracle reports as the size of the file relative to the size of ondisk.

• Suspended-> Snapshot-> change the CPU-> restore-> error?

Hi all

ESXi 4.0. Windows 2003 64-bit.

A user has done this:

1 suspend a virtual machine

2 take a snapshot

3. Add the 1 to 3 vCPU

4. the virtual machine works ok. But somehow the user wants to restore it back.

5. then, to restore the snapshot to the previous state and received the error:

The features supported by the processor in this machine are distinguished by the features supported by the processors of the computer on which the checkpoint was saved. Try to take the snapshot on a computer where processors have the same characteristics.

As far as I know, this error occurs only if move us the VM incompatible host, but we did move any virtual machine.

Is there something we can do to correct the problem?

Thank you.

You must add/change vCPU for an engine off the coast of the VM, not a suspension.

Or have the permit for adding (and, of course, an operating system).

• Replacement hard drive after the failure of the HD, restore disc problem

The replacement hard drive should be the same capacity as the original hard drive.

If your goal is to use a SSD, then you will need to migrate the operating system with a working operating system software cloning.

Samsung, Corsair and other manufacturers sell kits of migration with usb connectors SATA that allow the cloning process work perfectly from a hard disk inherited a smaller SSD.

• How to replace a laptop HARD drive and restore the backup without a Vista startup disk?

Hello

I need to replace the drive HARD internal of my laptop and have a picture of it, created using the backup feature in Vista, on an external USB HDD. However, I've upgraded to Vista XP via a download online and don't have a Vista disc.

How can I create a Vista startup disk that will give access to the backup/restore function, which allowed me to restore my backup to the new HARD disk image once I did the replacement? And is there anything else I forget?

Thanks in advance!

You can borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It is General info how to make a Vista startup repair disk:
Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html
Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.
http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/
ISO Burner: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.
See you soon.
3. click on change settings.
4. This will show the drives internal i.e. your F: drive / on the computer.
