  In General, you should always pass to the last possible system like you meet the specs for, as long as you do not have "must have" applications that do not meet the requirements of the system.

  Several things you should do before moving...

  1. If you have questions on your current system don't their compound by installing above them. Solve them first, and then upgrade.

  2. check HARD drive for free space. At least 8.8 GB of available storage. Preferably more.

  Of course you can upgrade to El Capitan. But I think better if you can change the internal hard drive (SATA drive) in the SSD drive. You will get better results, faster than still, you only have 4 GB. This is mine... MacBook pro in early 2011.

  The App Store has to do with your documents?

  The only version of the opening running on El Capitan is opening 3.6.

  It is not an update, you can download. It must be purchased from the App Store, and Apple has stopped selling opening from the AppStore. Opening is no longer supported. You can print is more books in Aperture, for example.

  If you want to stick with Aperture, however, then talk about the AppStore support to sell you a redemption code to be able to download the latest version of Aperture.

  Photos is not really a professional tool. The features are comparable to iPhoto.

• Retrieve the backup Time Machine to iPhoto with El Capitan

  I had issues with my hard drive and decided I do a backup of my computer using Time Machine, install a new hard drive and reinstall my OS X. Once I had installed my new hard drive, I used my old one (via a 2.5 USB eSATA cable) to install from the recovery partition and I was prompted to install OS X El Capitan. All this went well and I've been operating pretty quickly.

  The problem: I have a file "iPhotoLibrary.migratedphotolibrary", I found in my new Time Machine backup the Photo app does not recognize. I saw that you can always download the latest version of iPhoto, if you can find it in your App store, but I never bought iPhoto isn't in my tab "purchased."

  Possible solution?: I have earlier versions of Mac OS X in my tab 'Bought' in the App Store. I can download one from OS X, put on a bootable disc, partion of my hard drive and install OS X on the new partition? I say, older versions will iPhoto and I can open my file "iPhotoLibrary.migratedphotolibrary" and export my photos from there?

  I really want to do: Have a way to import my file into the new Photo on El Capitan app.

  We have a server that has been recently upgraded to El Capitan with new version of the application server is installed. We have activated with Open Directory for all users of the file-sharing network. Network users who connect get this error message when registering files excel on the server:

  

  When this file is then reopened, there is an error saying that the file is damaged and you want to try to fix it. The repair never works.

  What happens 9/10 times only Excel files on our server Mac users and different computers. Open Directory has been rebuilt and added users, but we have the same problem. All users (about 8) use Macs with Yosemite and El Capitan. All users use Office for Mac 2011. Server running OS X Lion mountain with server before, while we went through a deletion and installation to make sure that we started with the parameters of charges. All data is stored on a separate internal hard drive "Data HD" and is separated from the HD of server where the OS is installed. Permissions for data HD and all folders in have been re-spread so we are sure they are 100% accurate overall. Server has 16 GB of memory, so I highly doubt that it is actually a memory problem. Users are able to save Excel files on their desks from the end server, so it is certainly related to the server.

  Everything worked fine with the previous operating system. Any suggestions would be super useful. I'm pretty tech-savvy Apple, but this one left me speechless.

  Have you tested AFP vs SMB?

  Default value is SMB.

  Try to force AFP using: afp: / /.

  If the question of the effects of the SMB only, then disable SMB (my preferred solution when there is no windows user) or activate the ACL for SMB.

  You didn't say exactly what permissions have been propagated and they were ACL or POSIX.

  To migrate your iPhoto library to Photos for Mac, drag it in the Photos icon in the Dock.  Photos will read the iPhoto library and create a new library of pictures of him.

  If you have existing question in your system current, then things could get worse if you upgrade simply. My personal choice is always do a clean install of newest version of Mac OS X.

  Make your own installer from El Capitan flash drive using the El Capitan tool:

  It's all a bit mysterious... as to who it is actually to blame. I am running el capitan with diversity and it works quite well. It is true that very rarely, I have to restart eyetv. But not to restart the computer.
