iPhoto book background

Someone knows how to change backgrounds in iphoto books?  I have a Mac12, OSX Yosemite 10.10.5.  Instructions do not match what I see.  Thank you - Clydethedog

What version of iPhoto? For OS 10.10.5 you have that iPhoto 9.6.1 - with iPhoto 9.6.1 open book and click Layout in the lower right - tray available funds, display in the right pane of the iPhoto window

  • Transfer an iPhoto book to Photos

Just found out that you can not do a book in iPhoto more - but I'm doing good now (a lot of work!).

So my question is: How can I transfer Photos to iPhoto book to finish the job?

You can open the iPhoto photo library. It will create a library of Photos transferred.

But your book may not be migrated in the form of an album, see this support page:

How Photos handles content and metadata for iPhoto and Aperture - Apple Support

A few photos and calendars, books with themes Photos is longer supported, migrate to Albums.

You probably have to re-create the photo book.

Or alternatively, finish the book in iPhoto and export it as a PDF file, then printed it by a different service.

Photo Presto can print PDFs of books created in IPhoto, a printing service as possible.

You can also use the Preview on your new Mac app to split PDF pages of your book in iPhoto in separate JPEGs, one for each page of the book. Then add these JPEG files as photos full-size in an empty Photo book with Photos for Mac and the printed by Apple.

for a better recreate the photo for Mac Book, from the lPhoto library migration.

  • I want to reprint a 2010 iPhoto book

I want to reprint a 2010 iPhoto book. They keep books of which a long time ago?  I still have it as a jpg.  All pages are saved in jpg format.

Apple keeps the files pdf for only 30 days.  To change the position you will need to get him out of the library that was used to create and order the boot initially.

For future books, you can consider what I do: create a new separate library for each book.  We can use iPhoto Library Manager to move photos between your work and the library book library.  If you use Photos PowerPhotos will do the same job.

  • How can I get a new one book in iPhoto Book PDF 2005?

I have the PDF of a book in iPhoto that I had printed in 2005.  How to make a book printed to this file?

You may submit the PDF file for Presto Photo to have it printed, see this link: https://www.prestophoto.com/create/iphoto-aperture-book-printing

Apple print is more books iPhoto.  If you want your book printed by Apple, extract the pages of your PDF file in JPEG format, for example in the overview.

Then create a new photo book in News Photos from Apple for Mac application.  Just use the JPEG format you got from your book pictures full page in a new book of photo.

  • Add photos to iPhoto book

Hi, I use iPhoto 11 and I am a first time Photo Book customer.  I started one of my events assistance, but how do I add photos to a different event?

    Thank you

Get them right at the entrance of the book on the left pane.

However, apple no longer support documents printed from iPhoto as it is is more developed. If you are not able to order this book at Apple. You will need to use a left 3rd printer.

  • iPhoto book questions after iOS update

I recently updated my MacBook Pro (2012) to the iOS of Maverick.  So, I had to update many other applications, including iPhoto. I had a book filled with pictures of family of 2015, but had not printed.  The book came through after the update, but not all of my placed photos are here. I have a few other books (which have already been printed), and their pictures were very good. In any case, I can restore the photos without having to recreate hours of work?  The pictures are still on my Mac. So frustrating!  Thank you for any advice and comments.

Several members of the forum pointed out that the Apple Support told them, that you can not order books iPhoto after March 31. So, everything you do, hurry to order the book.

The book came through after the update, but not all of my placed photos are here.

If you have removed pictures of the library, they will be removed the book as well and will show black.

If the photos are always in the library, get them back to an empty place holders.

  • iPhoto book card and calendar each shuts down the system

iPhoto slide show and Album both work normally.  The book features, card & calendar show a loading... indication, but almost immediately the activity stops and no entry except force quit is available.  A problem report is generated.

A problem earlier with iPhoto had recently been resolved.  The problem and the solution are in the Discussion iPhoto 9.4.3 frequent crashes presented by iGardener December 14, 2015 and involves the removal of two of googlemap and S60v3.rar. html files The used at this stage iPhoto library is smaller... less than 200 photos.

The above solution made me very happy and grateful for the discussion forum.  I have this post in hopes that I can return these functions of iPhoto.

    Greetings from Jerry-a-Tic.

A solution to the problem that I reported when I continued to look for Discussions of iPhoto.  Specifically, MattyMiles interviewed on "iPhoto, photo books, calendars, cards of ' back on November 14, 2009.  A recommendation, due to old Toad, the user to verify the "Theme" folder to HD/Library/Application Support/iPhoto has led to a solution for the problem I raised.

The Themes folder and the database file was, from its date, a new file, apparently created when I reinstalled iPhoto in a vain attempt earlier to solve the 'problem of crash induced Google'.  Fortunately, I had a copy of the folder themes, which turned out to be a backup.  Replace the existing folder and the Themes.db file to the location of the HD , solved problem.  A reboot is not necessary...

Thanks to MattyMiles and old Toad.

  • IPhoto 1.5 book

I used Iphoto to create books to print in the past and and worked very well. I started working on a book in the 1.5 version and found there is no way to manipulate the page layouts. I would like to change the size of the frames (holds the photo), turn them, move them. Is this possible? If this is not the case, why Apple spoil a good thing? If I can't handle the photo internships, then I'll look into another service, which allows options.

No, it is not possible.  You can only change the fonts, but not change the layout of a page and add textfields.  In the Photos, you must choose a ltheme which is close to the desired layout and use it as it is. Photos a themes had more than iPhoto, so you should be able to find a theme with page layouts, you can use.

If you have installed iPhoto (version 9.6.1 works on El Capitan), you can have your iPhoto books printed by another service. Just save the finished book in PDF format and send it to Presto of Photo or a similar service.

  • Apple iphoto still produces photo books

Apple still produces photo books and is it possible to produce them using a pc?

If you have iPhoto, you can always create photo books, but Apple does not print iPhoto books.  Printing products Apple store is only printing books created with the Photos for Mac News, see: https://www.apple.com/osx/print-products/

If you create a book in iPhoto, you can save it as a PDF file and send it to other printing services, like Photo Presto.

Photo Presto will be shipped around the world, see their pages:

Can I use iPhoto to makle books and print them o my printer?

I use an iMac in early 2009 with a lot of free GBs and El Capitan.

You can save your opening books or books iPhoto in the form of PDF files and print them on your printer.

In iphoto, you can also select your book and the ⌘P of the key combination allows to print the paper on your printer.

  • Use iPhoto or Photos for books?

Hello. I have more than a dozen iPhoto libraries, one for each year. What I do is make albums and then the books for my trips or a book each year. I'm back doing the books. Now with the Photos app (and faster, etc.), I wonder if I should migrate my iPhoto library Photos and allows to make albums and photo books? Is there any advantage in doing that? It would mean that I'll end up with several libraries of Photos, because it cannot allow me to combine several iPhoto Library in pictures.

I thought I would like a link libraries, instead of importing thousands of same photos in the new libraries of Photos. So the main question is whether or not there is an advantage in the migration of all my libraries of iPhoto in the libraries of Photos, or simply stick with iPhoto and make my books there. Thank you.

You can no longer print books in iPhoto in any case, because Apple has stopped the iPhoto book printing service.  If you want that your books printed by Apple, the new Photos.app as the only option now.  Photos Presto can print your iPhoto books, if export you it to a PDF file.

If you open an iPhoto photo library, the library migrated will not need a lot of extra storage, see this document: Photos saves disk space to share images with your iPhoto or Aperture - Apple Support libraries

Long term, it will be best to take Photos for Mac, because iPhoto will be less intense.

A few options: If you also have the opening, you can easily merge all iPhoto libraries into one before migrating to Photos.
