I just updated my Mac of Sierra software.

I can't open iPhoto but it's saying that I need to upgrade to the latest version. He directs me to the App Store to download the latest version, but there is noting that the article is not available in the US store.

You need iPhoto 9.6.1.  What version you have installed?

Updated the AppStore tab does not work any longer for iPhoto, because Apple is it is no longer for sale. You can update only by reinstalling as described in this tip to user:

Cannot update iPhoto because it is not available in the App Store

But the update is available for versions of iPhoto 11 associated with your AppleID on the AppStore.

    Hello

My Iphoto has decided that it does not open or update.

I am currently using OS X El Capitan version 10.11.5, I think it is a recent update and could be a problem cause (but I don't really know)

You need iPhoto 9.6.1 on El Capitan.  But you can only upgrade to iPhoto, if the version you are using a version installed from the AppStore or associated at least your AppleID on the AppStore.  If iPhoto came on installer DVD and you have not purchased it from the AppStore or he did not come preinstalled on your Mac with OS X Lion or newer, then you can is no longer up-to-date.  Apple has stopped the development of iPhoto, and update is no longer supported.  You can only reinstall versions of iPhoto you already own.  It is too late now to convert the DVD of iPhoto versions versions AppStore.

You can open your libraries in Photos for Mac iPhoto library, however. It is the successor to Apple iPhoto. See this support document, how your iPhoto library will appear in Photos: How Photos handles content and metadata for iPhoto and Aperture - Apple Support

    Helen

You must have iPhoto 9.6.1 to run iPhoto under El Captain - http://www.apple.com/feedback/photos.html

However, iPhoto is a dead horse and it is best to migrate pictures and learn (it's a new program offering a new learning curve) because it is usually better than iPhoto and it is the future of the management of Photos Apple

  • new album created in iPhoto does not appear in iTunes when I'm syncing my phone?

I created a new photo album in iPhoto, and this album does not appear in iTunes under the photos when I'm syncing my phone.  an album has 836 photos also but in iTunes when I sync the same album shows that there are only 736 photos... Why are the new photos not added?

    Thank you

This can happen if the iPod Photo Cache in your iPhoto library is corrupted.

What version of iPhoto do you have?

Try to remove the iPod Photo Cache in your iPhoto library, such as described here - see the link: iTunes: understand the folder iPod Photo Cache

    And try to synchronize again.

  • Lightroom: Time to Capture for videos imported from iphoto does not appear in the metadata

Hi, I imported all my photos and videos from iphoto to Lightroom recently with iphoto import plugin.  I think that all my photos have been imported, but I noticed that all my videos have no capture time, while they became grouped in my collections.  But I think that I can still see their capture time in the 'gray' text on each photo.  Why did this happen and how to solve this problem?  I really want my time to capture in video metadata, and I also want to see my videos in chronological order on the right with my videos.   Strangely, the videos imported into Lightroom directly from my camera SD card do not have this problem, don't do that those imported from iphoto.  Thank you!

LR does not correctly manage video metadata in general, and in particular, he often misses capture time.  Sometimes it works: choose a video, make metadata > edit Capture time and then click all change (without actually modifying the corrected time).  If that sets the time of capture at the right time, you can select all the videos of problem, metadata > edit Capture time, and then click all change.   If you have a small number of videos, you can manually fix the capture time to help change the Capture time.

See for more information in the official forum for feedback from Adobe for more details, vote on it and give your opinion: Lightroom: metadata applied to videos in Lightroom is not available in other applications

After importing the photos by email, iPhoto will not open. I receive a notice of default to the screen

  • iPhoto does not update 2016

MacBook Pro 13 "nine bought it a year ago on Apple Store.

iPhoto refuses to update, let the symbol annoying (1) on the App Store icon all the time.

Just receive the message below - "this update is not available with this ID either because it was bought by another user or the item has been refunded or cancelled"

Can I get rid of the reminder? Can I remove > reinstall iPhoto?

This is my first Mac, so don't know how things work compared to the PC.

Sorry - I have tried to capture > copy > paste a screenshot, do not even that! Any ideas? I can't convert it to .jpg, is apparently a .tiff?

I had again, only the an Apple ID, I've had for years, all other apps/OS etc. updates correctly.

Thanks for any help for a question!

I can't convert it to .jpg, is apparently a .tiff?

If you open the TIFF image in the preview, you can use "file > export" to convert it to a JEG.

iPhoto refuses to update, let the symbol annoying (1) on the App Store icon all the time.

You can no longer update iPhoto because Apple leaned over it for sale on the App Store.

The only thing you can try to do, is to update by reinstalling.

    Tip to see Barney:

Can't update iPhoto because it is not available in the App Store.

It will work, if your version of iPhoto appears in the history of your purchases on the App Store.

If this isn't the case, remove the incompatible iphoto application to your Applications folder to get rid of the update notice.

  • After importing Photos, some iPhoto does not

I went of Photos and most of my fact iPhoto library the passage.  However, there are months of imports which do not have.  Apparently at random.

Looking at my HD on OmniDiskSweeper space, my iPhoto library clocks to 173 GB and my Photos library is 163.5 GB.

I'm looking to switch to a new Macbook Pro with the solid state drive and in order to not have stuff in double clogging the SSD with GB of data, I would only transfer the files once, preferably in the photo library.

So the question is, how can ensure me that all photos in both libraries are placed in a

best way to start both and check the photo count

Why exactly do you think that a few months has not transferred?

The total size of library is not a way to check - there is no hope that they will be the same

  • PLACES OF IPHOTO DOES NOT - 9.2.3 - MAC OS

When I go to 'info' - then click on 'places' - the gps is up momentarily then goes - have version 9.2.3 - it allows to work very well - help please

Places don't work is no longer in older versions of iPhoto to all. You must at least have iPhoto 9.5.1 for workplaces.

Apple has not renewed the contract with Google to access the servers using iPhoto.

If you want to be able to use the upgrade of places to El Capitan and iPhoto 9.6.1 (if you can - you can only update AppStore versions of iPhoto).

Upgrade to El Capitan and Photos for Mac.  The two iPhoto 9.6.1 and pictures use different servers for Places.

If you know how to edit the HTML code, you can try the fix posted by cotton-x

You need to register for a private key for Google's servers and patch the iPhoto application.

Mac OS X 10.10.3 and newer include Photos, which is designed as a replacement for iPhoto. If you want to go on the use of iPhoto in addition to or instead of switch to Photos, click here and try following the instructions; you will only be able to do if you got before where associated with iPhoto on the Mac App store.
