• Can you provide search suggestions my search engine?

  Firefox provides suggestions when I start typing in the search field. I "Provide Search Suggestions" checked and "see the search in the address bar suggestions." When I force quit Firefox and restart, suggestions will appear for my first 2-3 research and then it returns do not provide suggestions. I'm frustrated! Search suggestions are super useful because sometimes I don't even know the full extent of what I'm looking for until I see the suggestions.

  I have attached 3 photos... the first photo shows how not to receive any suggestion, the second shows that my Firefox has the ability to display the options before quickly, he returned to show no and the third shows that I have the right boxes checked to activate "show suggestions".

  The last screenshot shows definitely the problem. Next time that happens, you can try:

  • Disable suggestions, type some text, and then turn it back on again (you can right click on the search bar to call the context menu and make the change)
  • Check if you get below the search bar suggestions in a new window (you can start a new window using Ctrl + n)
  • Check if you get suggestions in the search box on the new page of tabs in Firefox (Ctrl + t)

  I have a too simplified site, simple, ourhealthcarecrisis.com pages, and my client wants the text formatted in a way that I'm not currently able to provide, mainly because I'm still new to creating Web sites. In order to give the appearance of his text, I used a screenshot of the MS Word document that he wants me to duplicate. It is not pretty, at least for me, but like the look to the customer.

  Here's the problem: when he types the name of his site, ourhealthcarecrisis (less the ".com"), in Google it does not see the results he wants. The only text that appears, 'create the FHIA,' comes a version previously downloaded from the site. I don't know how to 'day' information with Google and it frustrates him that I can't do what he wants.

  I know that the search engines are looking for internal text in addition to the metatags and keywords, but for the moment I am at a loss for options. I understand that the formatting of the text itself, is what really needs to be done, but at the moment I can not give him.

  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  Since it is made up entirely of images, this page is invisible to search engines.

  No amount of manipulation will have noticed, and this operation time would be better spent learning creating HTML and web page.

  The best remedy is to enter all the text as living HTML text. Search engines love text alive. Then the search engines will find and classify correctly.

  What did you struggle with what prevents you from entering in all the content on this page live HTML text?

  It's OK again for the creation of Web sites. We were all once. But it doesn't take long to learn enough to properly set up the page with the live text.

• RoboHelp HTML 9 Max pane search controls results

  RoboHelp HTML 9 with WebHelp output...

  I have a two part question. By default, when our users to do a search in compiling dhelp, they see 10 search results per page. Is there a place in my RoboHelp interface where I can change this for the greatest number? I found a line of code in a file *.js where it seems that I could change it manually, but would prefer not to have to do this route in the case which causes involuntary hiccups elsewhere.

  Second part of my question is related to the statement in notes/new features release for RoboHelp 9 State users can control the search results notes max per page on-the-fly as they use the PDF search panel. This feature applies only to the WebHelp and WebHelp Pro and my output is WebHelp. I can see a line of code for this feature in the whfform.htm file but nothing shows like that in the search within compiled help pane. Is this a bug or is at - it a control somewhere in the settings of the RoboHelp project that allows me to activate this option for users? The last 2 lines below seems to control this area. The referenced items in the search pane in the first 4 lines appear ok in my search bar.

  I don't see anywhere in the configuration dialog box to control the number of search results, it seems that you have to edit this file.

  When the user goes to the 'search' tab, they should see this:

• Song in iTunes Store search limits results to 100

  I had difficulties, looking for songs to the iTunes store. When I want to search by title of song (as opposed to the artist), the results are limited to 100.

  I saw a previous answer on this forum here - the answer was to click on the artist name and then click "show all." But what happens if I don't want to search by artist? What happens if I want to discover a new artist I have ever heard before? Here, I love the song white satin nights. I like almost all versions of the song. If I want an instrumental piece or the singer another interpretation, I'm not necessarily see these results because I'm being limited to 100 results.

  Is there a way to simply search by song title (as we can do) without the specific artist search and having results limited to 100?

  When I use any search engine to find information on the Internet, I get results back as usual. However when I click on any of the results I am re-directed to a completely different site. I think I have a virus, but it is NOT detected by my Internet McAfee security software. Does anyone have advice on this?

  I am using Windows XP SP3 and it happens with Internet Explorer or Firefox browsers. When I re-directed I'm unable to click on the back button of the browser, so I have to close the browser and start the search. I am re-directed to sites not just the same. Unfortunately sites I am re-directed to that are sometimes "of inappropriate content.

  My McAfee Internet Security software is regularly updated and my PC is regularly analyzed, but he never finds the problem.

  My PC also regularly receives Microsoft Updates.

  It happens with Yahoo and Google, search engines, although I suspect that this will happen with any of them.

  • What you have already tried to solve the problem
  Save the base of messages (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#6) and then make a file | Folder | All compact.  If that doesn't fix it, then go to file | Identities and install a new identity and add your accounts and then see if it works fine.

• When you use Windows Vista Home Premium search, no results wouldn't come

  When I opened early and try to get whatever it is, there's nothing at all. Or if I tap a file that I know is indexed I try advanced search, select all and fill in the appropriate information and also check that the fi not indexed box. I then start search and he seeks but nothing can't and never has. When it says try search files that does not work either. I do not understand why the search box never showed a file that I know exists and is indexed, or more importantly why nothing comes up at all? Anyone know what could be the problem? Hope you get this feature to work. I use Vista Home Premium and Explorer 8.

  Method 1:

  The most likely reason is that you are looking a limited set of locations. Indexed locations, all of the files used by default, includes most of the places common you might want to search for. However, you can extend your search by adding additional locations to the current search in the search folder. Here's how:

  a. in the search pane, click Advanced search.

  b. click the menu location , then everywhere.

   

  Method 2:

  Also if the index looking for files that you know problems must be located in a location indexed; You may have to re-create the index. This can take a long time to complete. To rebuild the index:

  a. open indexing and Search Options by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then clicking Indexing Options.

  b. click Advanced Options, click the index settings tab and then click rebuild. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

• Search PDX result

  I created an index .pdx via Acrobat file to perform searches through multiple .pdf files.  When you look in the pdx file, results that populate are TITLES of document instead of NAMES of FILES. Is it possible to have the results of the screen to search for NAMES of FILES instead? I'd be happy to rebuild the pdx file, if so.

  All that is needed is a tweak in the Acrobat preferences.
  Select the 'Search' category
  Uncheck the "display the title of the document in the search results.

  You will see the file names.

• Click on search for result code doesn't display the line containing the search results

  I use the latest version of DreamweaverCC2014 on the latest version of Mac Mavericks. I use Dreamweavers find and replace to find code in an open html document. In the search results Panel results aren't clicking on me at the relevent code line in the document. It used to work well in the previous version of DW, I was using.

  In the DW help note it is said: ' display the results of a particular search in context: select window > results to display the search panel. " Double-click on a line in the search panel.   Double-click does not display the line containing the result of the search for me. It seems to work OK in my CSS files, but not in HTML longer (1010 lines).

  I have the same problem with all the HTML files that have external style sheets. for example .

  So it seems to be a bug around that. When you delete the above, double click functionality works.
