IPsec VPN with Cisco AnyConnect and 1921 ISR G2 router

Hello

Is it possible to establish a remote access VPN IPSec using Cisco Anyconnect client with router Cisco ISR G2 1921.

If someone does share it please the sample configuration. as I've been on this topic since last week a.

My Cisco rep recommended I have not try AnyConnect a router ISR or ASR.  So I used an Open Source client.  Don't say that AnyConnect won't work, just the route I took on my project.  I work good known configuration for a 1921 with strongSwan as a Client.  It is with IPSEC and IKEV2 using certificates for authentication.

I can successfully establish a tunnel between openswan linux server and the isa550.

    Patrick,

as you can see on newspapers, the software behind ISA is also OpenSWAN

I have a facility with a 892 SRI running which should be the same as your 29erxx.

Use your IOS Config dynmap, penny, you are on the average nomad. If you don't have any RW customer you shoul go on IOS "No.-xauth" after the isakmp encryption key.

  • PIX IPSec VPN with Cisco 877W

    Hi all

I am trying to create a VPN between a PIX and a Cisco 877W tunnel but can't seem to get the tunnel. When I do a 'sho crypto session"on the Cisco 877, I get, he said session state is declining, then changed to NEGOTIATE DOWN, but it is now down again... Please find attached the configs for both ends... Are there commands to confirm that the tunnel is up other than to try to ping the remote end? I would greatly appreciate any help lift this tunnel.

    Kind regards

    REDA

    Hello

Based on the configurations of joined, to do some changes. For example:

    1. the isakmp policies do not match on the router and the pix. Make sure the hash group Diffie-Hellman and life correspond on the 877 and pix.

    2. the access list for the ipsec traffic must be images of mirror of the other.

    3. make sure life of ipsec on the two peers.

    I hope it helps.

  • IPSec VPN between Cisco ASA and Fortigate1000

    Hello

I find a useful document on how to create a tunnel VPN IPSec with ASA 5510 firewall Fortigate 1000...

the configuration of the coast FG is done without any problem, BUT the document (. doc FG) said I must configure the ASA with a GRE interface and assign an internal IP address in order to communicate with the FG...

The question is: How do I configure the interface on the SAA ACCORD?

    Thanks in advance, Experts...

    Kind regards...

ASA firewall does not support the interface/GRE GRE tunnel.

If you need to have GRE configured, you will need to complete the GRE tunnel on router IOS.

If you want to configure just pure tunnel VPN IPSec (lan-to-lan), here is an example of configuration on the side of the ASA:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/ps6120/products_configuration_example09186a0080950890.shtml

    Hope that helps.

  • Remote IPSec VPN - client Windows 7 and ASA 5505

    Hello

I'm having trouble with configuring IPSec VPN with Cisco ASA 5505 and Windows 7 client native VPN remotely. My client PC Gets the VPN IP pool address and can access a remote network behind ASA, but then I lose my internet connection. I read that this should be a problem with the split tunneling, but I did as it says here and no luck.

Windows VPN Client settings, if I uncheck "use default gateway on remote network" I have an internet connection (given that the customer is using a local gateway), but then I can't ping remote network.

In the log, I see the warnings of this type:

TCP connection of disassembly 256 for outside:192.168.150.1/49562 to outside:213.199.181.90/80 duration 0: 00:00 0 stream bytes is a loopback (cisco)

I have attached my configuration file (without configuring split tunneling, I tried). If you need additional newspapers, I'll send them right away.

    Thank you for your help.

    Petar Koraca

That's what you would have needed on versions 8.3 and earlier versions:

    permit same-security-traffic intra-interface

    Global 1 interface (outside)

    NAT (outside) 1 192.168.150.0 255.255.255.0

However I see that you are running 8.4 so I think that all you need is this (I never did on 8.4 so it may not be accurate)

    permit same-security-traffic intra-interface

    network of the NETWORK_OBJ_192.168.150.0_24 object

    dynamic NAT interface (outdoors, outdoor)

Give it a shot and let me know how it goes.

  • IPSEC VPN with Dynamics to dynamic IP

    Hello

I tried IPSEC VPN with dynamic IP to dynamic (router to router) for some time. But still can not auto-établir the tunnel.

Is someone can you please tell me if it is possible to do?

If so, please share with me the secret to do work.

    Thank you!

    Best regards

Rather than the Crypto map, I would use the profile of Crypto.  Then, establish you an IPSEC tunnel.  The beauty of the profile, is that you can run through it routing protocols, and you do not have to change constantly the cards whenever you change the topology of the network.  The "* * *" in the timer event is "minute hour day week month" so "* * *" is updated every minute.  In Tunnel destination, it's an IP address, not a hostname that is stored, but when you set it, you can put in a HOST name and it converts to the moment where you configure it to an IP address.

    So, if you type:

    config t

    interface tunnel100
    destination remote.dyndns.com tunnel

    output

    See the race int tunnel100

    It shows:

    interface Tunnel100
    tunnel destination 75.67.43.79

That's why the event handler goes and becomes the destination of tunnel every minute what ever the DDNS says that is the new IP address.

I have seen that two of your routers running DDNS.  They will have to do this.

  • I have a desktop with windows 7 and a linksys E1000 router and you want to connect a laptop with windows 8, it will work router?

I have a desktop with windows 7 and a Linksys E1000 router and you want to connect a laptop with windows 8, it will work router?

Yes, it should work perfectly, if wired (Ethernet) or wireless.

Click on the network icon in the Notification area

Click on the available wireless network that you want to connect

In the list of available wireless networks, click a network, and then click on connect.

Some networks have need a network security key or password. To connect to one of those networks, ask the network administrator or service provider for key security or password.

  • Setup for use with Cisco Anyconnect VPN IPsec

So, I had trouble setting up VPN on our ASA 5510. I would use IPsec VPN so that we don't have to worry about licensing issues, but what I have read you can do with and always use Cisco Anyconnect. My knowledge on how to set up VPN especially in iOS version 8.4 is limited, so I've been using a combination of command line and ASDM.

I am finally able to connect from a remote location, but once I log in, nothing else works. What I've read, you can use IPsec for client-to-lan connections. I use a pre-shared for this. Documentation is limited on what should happen after have connected you? Shouldn't be able to local access on the vpn connection computers? I'm trying to implement work. If I have VPN from home, should not be able to access all of the resources at work? According to me, because I used the command-line as ASDM I confused some of the configuration. In addition, I think that some of the default policies are confused me too. So I probably need a lot of help. Here is my current setup with the changed IP address and other things that are not related to deleted VPN.

NOTE: We are still testing this ASA and is not in production.

Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated.

I would recommend buy AnyConnect Essentials. The cost of the license is nominal - list of US $150 for the 5510. (piece number L-ASA-AC-E-5510 =)

Meawwhile you can use the Cisco VPN client inherited with IKEv1 IPSec remote access VPN using profiles *.pcf.

I believe you can also use the client Anyconnect client SSL or DTLS transport access remotely (non-IPsec) without having to buy the license Anyconnect Essentials for your ASA focus.

As an aside, note that if you want to use AnyConnect Mobile (e.g. for iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry etc.clients) you will also get the additional license for it (L-ASA-AC-M-5510 =, also price US $150)

  • ASA 5510 Anyconnect licenses with Cisco Anyconnect VPN IP phone

Hi, hoping someone can shed some light on what I'm just more confused over trying to get by. Not sure if this goes in the section IP Telehpony or here...

We have an ASA 5510 with the base license. We need to install IP phones to home teleworkers, and I understand there are Cisco IP phones that have built-in VPN clients to enable a tunnel to the central private network. IT seems that you can't use Anyconnect VPN to do this, and I am trying to establish what upgrade licenses, we must apply to the ASA, as both Anyconnect licenses that you get for free on the SAA is not enough.

    This is the phone that we seek;

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/prod/collateral/voicesw/ps6788/phones/ps10499/ps11005/data_sheet_c78-603725.html

I want to know is the Anyconnect Essentials license will work with these IP phones?

When I do a version of the show,

The devices allowed for this platform:

    The maximum physical Interfaces: unlimited

    VLAN maximum: 50

    Internal hosts: unlimited

    Failover: disabled

    VPN - A: enabled

    VPN-3DES-AES: enabled

    Security contexts: 0

    GTP/GPRS: disabled

    SSL VPN peers: 2

    The VPN peers total: 250

    Sharing license: disabled

    AnyConnect for Mobile: disabled

    AnyConnect for Linksys phone: disabled

    AnyConnect Essentials: disabled

    Assessment of Advanced endpoint: disabled

Proxy sessions for the UC phone: 2

Total number of Sessions of Proxy UC: 2

    Botnet traffic filter: disabled

This platform includes a basic license.

It shows "AnyConnect for Linksys phone: Disabled", it is the same for the Cisco IP phones? It is the kind of specific license, should I seek for Anyconnect on IP phones or will Essentials?

    Hi Leo,

you will need 2 licenses: an Anyconnect Premium license and a permit «Anyconnect of Cisco VPN phone»

ASA 8.2 and earlier license "for Cisco VPN Phone" has been named "for phone Linksys' it's the same.

  • IPSec VPN between Cisco and ScreenOS

    Hello

I'm trying to set up a simple IPSec VPN between a Cisco 2911 router and a Juniper Netscreen ScreenOS (not exactly now the model) device. Initially the debbuging seems good (QM_IDLE), but the ISAKMP Security Association is deleted.

The guy managing the Juniper device send me an extract from his diary:

Is there something special that needs to be addressed when creating a VPN for Juniper devices?

    Greetings

  • Router configuration Cisco for the IPSec VPN with VPN in Windows 7 builtin client

Where can I find an example config for IPSec VPN where Windows 7 native client to connect to the Cisco routers. I use the cisco 881w, in this case.

    Thomas McLeod

Native Client Windows supports only L2TP over IPSec. Example at the end of this doc may be enough for you:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/security/vpn_modules/6342/configuration/guide/6342vpn4.html#wp1036111

I've not personally configured L2TP/IPSec on IOS, only on ASA, so cannot be 100% sure that the config in the link works, but the general idea should be ok.

  • HotSpot iOS 9.3.1 works do not with Cisco AnyConnect

Does anyone else have this problem? Since the upgrade to 9.3.1 iOS I am more able to use one of the hotspot from my iPhone to connect to the VPN from my company using Cisco AnyConnect.  I can still connect via Wi-Fi, but not with the iPhone 5s or 6s hotspot feature.

    Ideas?

    TIA,

    DM

Hello, I'm from the Italy, and I have the same problem on my 5 64 GB iPhone.

I have updated to iOS 9.3.1 and now I don't have the Hotspot feature in the phone settings Menu.

What is happen? I work with this feature and now I need to change the phone!

  • WILL IPSec VPN with mapped IP question

    Hello

I am trying to configure two Cisco routers (1801 & 837) for VPN IPSec de ERG. One of them has a static IP and the other is a DSL connection; so a dynamic IP address. We have a few additional static IP assigned to us through DSL connection. So I try to use a static NAT to get the VPN connection. Unfortuantely, the VPN connection does not come to the top. Can anyone help... ? The configuration of the two routers is attached here.

FYI:-J' I try the same config with a loop back, also without success. But if I just change the IP address of the source R1 to be the dynamic IP address, it works fine. But, since it is a dynamic IP, I can't implement this.

Thank you in advance to you all...

    Nimal

    Hi Chris,

If public IP address 22,33,44,55 is routable R2, you can use the p2p gre + ipsec vpn. You can test it by creating an address of loopback on R1

    lo10 int

    22.33.44.55 Add IP 255.255.255.255

    and ping 22.33.44.55 source R2 11.22.33.44.

If this public IP address is routable, you can use your configuration.

  • ASA IPSEC VPN with public IP dynamic

    Hey,.

I have never deployed IPSEC VPN tunnel using ASA on two sides of a side using public IP dynamic production. I normally deploy VPN Tunnels with both sides using public static IP addresses (not always a public IP address on ASA directly however).

So I wonder how stable it works with a static public IP and the other side uses dynamic public IP?

    Thank you

    Shuai

If you use certificates and psk or main mode and aggressive it will work very well. I have a number of production sites using this method.

  • IPSec VPN with DynDNS host problems after change of address

    Hi guys,.

I have a weird problem on an IOS router.

I need to implement IPSec VPN L2L.

Because of the security requirements of each site needed a clean pre-shared key. Sites dynamic IP and it's

    why I use dyndns.

ISAKMP crypto key KEY hostname XXXXXXXXXXX.dyndns.org

    CMAP_1 1 ipsec-isakmp crypto map
    define peer dynamic XXXXXXXXX.dyndns.org

First of all, it works fine, but after the change of IP address it no longer works.

Debugging, I discovered that it resolves the new IP address but IPSec attempts to connect to the previous INVESTIGATION period.

I tried this on two other IOS, 15.0 and 12.4

    This debugging output:

I'm building a lab to find a solution for this.

The other side is a VPN Linksys router, I tried with an IOS router on both sites also, but I got same results.

I tried with DPD, ISAKMP profiles don't... no help.

    Hi Smailmilak83,

Configuration of a static encryption with a specific peer card creates a society of surveillance for the peer. Dns lookup he's now only the first time, he tries to connect, after which it's just going to be her generate a new key. If she would ideally use the value peer in the his and not the config or a dns lookup. So, it is wise to use a dynamic encryption card.

Please try to use a dynamic encryption instead of a static map. Although there are some limitations including crypto being initiated only at the other end, we can work around keeping the tunnel directly.

    Hope that helps.
