I asked a friend if our windows live account email sends a notification to his address book without asking permission first. Is there than an opt in or out that he missed?

  • Can't make new account names?

I recently wanted to start my own project of entertainment using multiple Skype accounts open at the same time, but now, whenever I want to do a Skype account, there must be an email under the username. I created my Skype account with a username and has so very many people, but now each new account has their e-mail displayed as their e-mail or something like "live: example". How can I fix? It would be unpleasant visually when others click on the person and display their user name as an email.

You can create a new Skype account with a Skype name of your choice using this form:

  • While creating a new account, my own disappeared "computer administrator account.

When I created a new user account for my girls, my own family's missing "computer administrator account. Everything that I have now is my "acct kids" who says it is my "admin acct comp' now and all my icons, Favorites, all is gone and can't find it. I didn't delete it, I don't think. When I go to remove user accounts, it isn't here either. I made a password for my account before it disappeared however. Can I retrieve it somehow like that? I'm so disappointed.

It is a feature, not a bug.

Windows XP has a built-in account named "Administrator" (without the quotes).  The design idea was that you should only use this account for "emergencies" and not to use it on a daily basis.  This is because that the accounts of users, sometimes, be damaged, it is useful to have a verified account with full administrative access that you can use to fix things.

To "enforce" this idea (or at least to encourage users to follow), as soon as you create a new account with "Computer administrator" privileges, Windows XP hidden administrator on the Welcome screen.

The administrator account is still there.

If you have Windows XP Pro, press CTRL + ALT + DELETE twice during to the home screen when you are logged on all accounts.  You will get the "classic" logon window  Enter Administrator as the user and the password defined.

If you have XP Home Edition, you must start the computer Safe Mode by repeatedly pressing the F8 key just after the restart.  If you see the Windows logo, you waited too long to start typing and have to start over.  You can use this method without failure for XP Pro as well.  Once Windows starts in Mode safe mode, the administrator account appears on the Welcome screen.

You have two options at this point: (1) make a new "computer administrator" account for your everyday use and copy to administrator stuff (and then let administrator not used except for emergency situations) or (2) create a "computer administrator" account that you will use that with the exception of emergency situations and make administrator appear on the Welcome screen.  I suggest you to option (1).

(1): see "workgroup" mode here--> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811151 account 'Administrator' you used is the "corrupt" account the "new user profile' is the new account that you create which has"computer administrator"privileges and you will need to log on to an account with "computer administrator" privileges to do all this - which can be the 'kids' acct (which, depending on your position, does not have these privileges).

(2): make the administrator account visible on the homepage: http://www.theeldergeek.com/missing_administrator_account.htm
C:\WINDOWS\ERUNT allows you to make a backup of the registry before start you.

Note: once you have things under control and have a spare part "computer administrator" account, regardless of how you choose to do, I suggest you do your children has a "Limited user" account to limit the amount of malice, they are able to do (of course, if they are more than 8 years they will be able to find a way to work around this problem).

  • Windows Mail (Windows 7) blind sending send copies

In Windows Mail (Windows 7), how can I send a copy of an email to anyone? How can I email blind copies of e-mails to members of a contact group?

You use Windows Live Mail in Win7 or you hack into Windows Mail (Vista) in there?

This is for Outlook Express cutter works with all three e-mail clients although some terms may differ. (e.g. vs. Address Book Contacts list).

To use the functionality of the BCC (Blind Carbon Copy), in a new message window, click View | All headers and type the addresses separated by a; Or: Click the button to. You will see your list of contacts and the choice to put them in the To, CC, or BCC field. Click on an address, and then click BCC to add it. Repeat for all of the contacts you want. (Note: most of the providers have limits as to how many messages you can send both a. 25 is common, but it varies).

Put your own address in the box to. That's the only name/address that any recipient will see. If you leave the field empty, some people may not receive e-mail because of message rules they put in place, or restrictions imposed by their ISP.

You can also make an entry in the address book using your e-mail address, but put something like the mailing list in the area of the display.

    *********************

You can also create groups if you send e-mail to the same people often.

To create a group of contacts:

You can create a single group name (or alias) to use when sending a message to several contacts at the same time. Just create a group name and add individual contacts to the group. Then just type the name of the group in the box for when you send mail.

    1. in the address book, select the folder in which you want to create a group. Click New in the toolbar, and then click New Group.
    2. the Properties dialog box opens. In the group name box, type the name of the group.
    3. There are several ways to add people to the Group:
    a. to add a person from your address book list, click Select members, and then click a name in the address book list.
    (b) to add a person directly to the group without adding the name to your address book, type the person's name and e-mail address at the bottom of the Properties dialog box and then click Add.
to add a person to both the Group and your address book, click New Contact and enter the appropriate information.
    (d) to use a directory service, click Select members, and then click search. Select a directory service in the drop-down list at the end of the text box. After finding and selecting an address, it is automatically added to your address book.
    4. Repeat for each addition until your group is defined.

    Note

    a. to view a list of your groups separately from the list of address book in the address book on the view menu, make sure that folders and groups is selected.

    b. you can create multiple groups, and contacts can belong to several groups.

If you want to send to a group without addresses are displayed for each recipient, open the address book and make a new entry. Enter the name of the group in the area of the display, but use your address. (Some Internet service providers require a legitimate address in the line to and recipients will know it's from the Group).

Click on the button to. Enter the name of the group using your address. Enter the group in the BCC field.

  • How do I add e-mail addresses in address book in bulk?

I received an email with a bunch of e-mails (a few cc, some). I want to copy all the addresses to the Clipboard, so I put in my address book list I created. Or I want to stick to a new empty email.

    Thank you!

Right click on something that looks like an e-mail address should offer an option to add it to your address book. Allows you to deal with them one by one.

    Or download the add-on:

    https://NIC-NAC-project.org/~kaosmos/morecols-en.html

and allows you to add all the correspondents of a message to your address book.

    For even broader scope,

    https://NIC-NAC-project.org/~kaosmos/index-en.html#EAC

allows you to designate several messages to analyze email addresses, including in the text of the message.

How to install modules in Thunderbird.

  • move the e-mail address to address book

When an e-mail arrives and I want it in my address book, how do I do that

When you view a message in the messages pane, a tab or a new window, you will see a star to the right of the address of the sender. If the star is filled with color that is already in one of your address books. If the star is not filled with color, you can click on it to add it to your address book. Click on a star filled will open the Edit dialog box so you can make changes or additions to this contact.

This isn't the same star which is located to the left of the message header in the Inbox window.

  • Everyone in my address book at once with my new email emailing address.

I want to inform everyone in my address book to my new email address. I want to send to everyone at some point, BUT I don't want to show all the email address when I send this email. I want to protect their privacy. Is it somehow highlight addresses, I want to receive the email with my new email in there address? I don't want to have to type each e-mail address as a BCC in the message. Ouch! Help please, anyone.

    Open a window of writing.

Turn the sidebar of Contact immediately if it is not already enabled. F9 will toggle it on and outside.

Depending on what size your address book is that you must do in small groups of contacts in order to stay out of the box like look of spammer.

Select the contacts and use the Add button to the IAB to add them to the message.

control + a will select all

If you need to break into small groups, select the first contact, down 20 or more contacts and hold down the SHIFT key while clicking on a contact. This will select the first, last and all contacts between the two.

    Repeat if necessary.

  • How to share a contact in the address book by e-mail?

I am trying to send email coordinated in a mailing list of my address book to a colleague. I have tried to go to the option of attachment but does not include the option to contact address book. Also tried to copy what I can paste into the body of the email without success. How can I share these coordinates please?
    Thank you

What your correspondent need or want?

It has well established standard for the exchange of contact information is the vCard that encapsulates many of the fields commonly used in a Contact entry.

If a vCard file is suitable for you and your correspondent, this add-on:

    https://NIC-NAC-project.org/~kaosmos/morecols-en.html

has a nifty feature for sending cards in attachments. Then your correspondent can probably just add to her address book. If you copy the simple details, such as name, address, e-mail address phone no, then the person has put everyone in his address book by hand.

If you open the mailing list in your address book, you can probably drag each item in the body of a new mail message. But it's more work than necessary for you and the recipient, which will need to manually add everyone in his address book.

With this module, you should be able to open the mailing list by selecting it in the address book, and then use ctrl + a to select all, then right click and select 'Send as vCard'; It will open a new message with all the attached selected Contacts.

Lists have generally a standard presentation, so a list in the e-mail client is rarely useful in another. If you use Thunderbird, you can use this module to export the list to a .tha or THM file that could import another user of Thunderbird.

  • How to add an e-mail address to my address book from an e-mail?

Someone sends me an email and I don't have their email in my Thunderbird addressbook. Is it possible to enter their information in my address book without having to retype all in my address book. In other e-mail programs I used, all I had to do was click on the message and click on a menu item drop-down which would be simply copy all the contact information in a new address book entry. Is it possible to do this in Thunderbird?

When you view a message in a tab or the message pane there is a star to the right of the address of the sender. If the star is filled with color the address is already in one of your address books. If the star is not filled, click on the star to add. Click on the star a second time to open the Edit dialog box to add more details about the contact.

This isn't the same star which is located to the left of the message header when you view the Inbox.
