  I'm a copyeditor work remotely with a designer on a small magazine. I receive and edit copy in Word format, then send the link edited to the designer, always in Word format. It is using InDesign CS5. The problem is that when he sends me proof in pdf format and I make final corrections the pdf, I don't always get the result I was expecting: sometimes he lacks corrections or enters their wrong.

  In order to give me more control over the text, we consider becomes InDesign CC for me, so that I can send properly formatted copy. I know that I could create an exit in InDesign CC that he could use in CS5.

  InCopy would be the best solution for you. InCopy is the little brother of InDesign, but both must be in the same version to work together flawlessly.

  InCopy is a lot cheaper and easier than InDesign as it is lack of capacity of layout, but the two of you need to understand both applications.

  As a general rule, if 2 people work on the same document, they should have the same versions between 2 InDesigns or InDesign and InCopy, any workflow that requires IDML should be avoided.

  Why are there so many corrections in your current workflow? If you do your Word Document correctly and put in place with the styles without any manual format overrides, no hyphenation, no continuous return several it should reduce the number of corrections in the first place.

  Many people find such problems with CS6 in El Capitan. There will be no update for CS6, it has reached its end of life.

  You must go back to the previous version of the operating system, or upgrade to creative Clud.

• Address merge 4 poses while keeping in the order of the stack (not shifted) with InDesign

  I need to print envelopes addressed 3500 postcard.  These must be kept in order to zip.  The way that we want to print it is 4 on 12 x 18.  I know how to use the merge feature to print 4 sets of addresses on a single page, but the problem with this, it organizes in a phased manner.  We want to do it in a way where we cut 12 x 18 in 4 batteries even that can be stacked together and be in order.  What's a sense?

  What I've tried is making 4 separate merged 875 pages PDF files each and using the scripts provided with Indesign to automatically place PDF files on 875 pages.  I tell myself that I could place 4 layers of PDF files with addresses on the other.  The problem is when Im placing the 2nd series of pages, even though I told it to place on page 1, it goes to the page 876.

  Im trying everything I can think of it wrong in establishing the merger or PDF in overlapping, but no luck.  Anyone have any ideas?

  Here's one way, with the excel file.

  It is a bit of copy and paste, but it might do what you want.

  You will need to select and cut the second 875 records and paste them beside the first, then do the same 3 times more. You'll find yourself with 875 total of records, with four sets of name/address.

  You can then use the merge of single record to generate pages in the way you need.

  You posted in an old, dead, forum. But now, I found your message... Acrobat is not compatible with InDesign, they did not need to work together. You should NEVER use always distill with InDesign, export. Acrobat Pro preflight tools has, and the only version you can buy is Acrobat Pro DC.

  Grids do not show in preview or overview of the overlay modes and may be hidden by a full framework used as a background. If it is none of these, it could be the threshold value of zoom - the grid appears if you zoom in?

• Creating applications with InDesign

  I am a user of Indesign, and I plan to take a course on the development of applications with InDesign.  My understanding is that, in order to use this work, we would have to buy a license to use with DPS.  How much is something like this cost?  Adobe buries this information I can say.  I'm looking for a rough idea on what it would invest create a quarterly magazine distributed as an application (we already have the Creative Suite that I currently have to design our magazine as a quarterly print piece).  I'd like to try the interactive features but do not know that I'm going to bother with the course if it is prohibitive create applications.

  Thanks to each of you respond to my concern. I used the glyphs Palettes before but did not expect way bulky to handle the task. With my old Linotype Decoration Pi police, press and it's there.

  I spent several hours before to buy trying to get answers before buying but the support has been no help. I have not sucked into the monthly Plan of the clouds.

  When you open a file in a version newer than the text not redial using the new text engine until you interact with it, somehow, but then recomposes it using the rules of text of the current version and reflow is normal, but often the results of changes for purposes of line that can cause oversets in tables or at end of chapter.
