  Hello

  I want to add tags to my applications for categorization when I drop them into the Applications folder. In my way of novice, I created a folder Automator action where I add Spotlight comments to the app, but that's not what I want to do, I want to label it. The only other option is aimed at Finder label but that gives you just seven color options. I want to have a promt asking me what tag I want to attribute to the request, exactly as it does for the Spotlight comment action. Is this possible with Automator or should I look elsewhere, like AppleScript?

  I have two solutions to bypass, where the first is a combination of Automator and Hazel (probably consume more memory) where I use the Spotlight comment action in Automator and then let Hazel tag of the file via a dynamic tag (comment Spotlight under 'other' element of choice). But it is almost useless, because if I just replace an existing file, the workflow is not triggered, in this case only if a new file is added. How can I make the workflow work on new and existing files? The same thing happens when I use the alternative workaround, I integrate Quicksilver in an Automator workflow to send the item (file) to Quicksilver if I where he can score. Any suggestion is welcome!

  With or without Automator, AppleScript script would be the way to go.  You'll have the same problem with actions folder be it, however, they are only triggered when a component is added to a watched folder.

  You can use the URL of cocoa class to add your tags - this topic of the mailing list has the script library routines (note that you can use directly in a script of El Capitan).

  It is certainly possible, in fact, it should be fairly simple how experienced you are with computers. Hand, you have a few options I can think. Was of course since I am not aware of what kind of hard drive in your old computer, you will probably need to buy an additional cable\cord\connector to connect to the motherboard, and if it is an old IDE drive, you can buy an IDE to SATA as one of them.

  This is all assuming you want to keep the hard drive installed on the PC. And although it may sound intimidating or difficult to do, it's really not! If you can put some screws with a screwdriver, you will be able to install the old drive if your new PC. Simply enter the model number of your PC to the HP drivers & support web page or click on the following link: upgrade and repair, (this is for the model number you provided) read the first couple pages & then proceed to PDF page #17. Read & review the instructions once in a relationship, print out the instructions if necessary, collect tools (flat head screwdriver & anti-static bracelet), then just follow instructions & take your time paying attention to the illustrations. It is frankly less work & easier than typing all of this out.

  Either way, you can easily connect to your computer must use one of these: existingUSB-adapters IDE that allows you to directly access a device of ATA/ATAPI IDE interface. Everything is a matter of preference and what you are comfortable doing.  To find these items I already mentioned, just google 'em and either find a computer store nearby and investigate with them or order from a decent distributor in your country for the best prices. Overall, there are many more options that I've listed here, but they are all relatively will do the same thing; that is the type of player, you must convert a USB cord. Hope this helps!   7zip, Winzip and Winrar are free tools, so it is suggested to use those because you are able to open other compressed formats. The forum is a community of volunteers and not Microsoft employees.

  Trial period over Illustrator myand I will not buy it because I don't use it professionally. That's why I downloaded a similar software (Gimp) to continue with my projects. But when I tried to Open with Gimp the AI designs I was working, it displays a message telling me to open files with Illustrator to select the option 'create a PDF file'. The problem is that I can't use Illustrator. How can I open them then?

  Hello. I am looking for assistance in the next issue. I have a script that helps me to look for a file name and rename it and I have a script that looks like a file and moves it to a new folder. I need one that will combine the two aspects in one based on the example as follows:

  I have a picture but need to rename the same file in several versions. (i.e. original image name 7HABLH.jpg to be copied to a new location and renamed with several different names 6HABLH_01.jpg, 6HABLH_02.jpg, 6HABLH_03.jpg, etc...). This produces even a lot of pictures and are all contained in a CSV file that is configured as below

  

  My end result would be the image in the folder/column 'OldImageName' is copied into a new folder and renamed the folder/column "NewImageName." Hope my request is logical that I am a poster the first time also trying to learn the script but I don't have a lot of time to achieve and could use as much help as possible.

  Check the messages to the new folder and deleted items. Have a a + in front of them?

  Go t the location where you want to create the new folder, right-click and select new/folder. Name the folder.

  Go to where the files, select the files and then use the right mouse button to drag the files into the new folder. When you drop the file, a pop-up menu, select the Move option.

  Package your indesign file (file > package)

  It creates a new folder with all the files inside.

  Select the newly created folder.

  Right click - send to > compressed Zip

  Once you compress a file, it is wise to use this folder packed right now.

  That's why archive your old files so you don't mix them up.

  1. right click on the interested file called 'test1.abc '.

  2. click on 'Open with' option

  3. Select the application needed to open the file

  4. Please activate option "always use the selected program to open this type of file"

  5. click on ok

  Subsequently all "* .abc" files (test2.abc, test3.abc etc.) are opened by preferred application (selected) you in what precedes.
