  Something like that is not possible. On the recovery of the media it is an image that cannot be split. As far as I know with CD recovery facilities, it is possible to install the OS on the first partition (if several available). You can also create own partitions.

  "Best" is subjective and relative.  For Windows, installs own is always considered to be 'better', but you lose initially all applications and documents a necessating kind of phase recovery/reinstall, so it's a pain.  Import, conversion, migration should be about the same with the possible side effects of your C: drive is software resized and tripping in several products such as Windows, Office, Adobe products, and al.  The advantage is everything is intact including some State accumulation Windows has in the registry, temporary files, caches, etc.

  I doubt if this would be converted to USB connection since it's an old device that is compatible with XP only. For the best experience in games, I personally suggest you to upgrade the perimeter game, for example, Microsoft SideWinder Mouse.

  It is possible, but not an easy task. As 12 c uses new tricks, must test everything with great care.   There is also an undocumented option to see a dump of debugging of certain other information in a control file if you have access to your trace files:

  alter session set events 'immediate trace name controlf level 16';
  

  From memory I think level 16 is more complete emptying, but there may be another level this report more.
  Do not experiment with this on a production system.
