My brother-in-law works for Adobe and it bought creative cloud for me and he sent me the redemption code to download. I live in the Japan and its telling me that it was bought in a different region. If you are sure that you won't need Lightroom 5 more, then it is safe to remove it. There is no interdependence between different versions or even different updates to Lightroom. Each new installation of Lightroom, upgrade or update, is a complete new installation of the program.

I subscribe to creative cloud for more than a year. I heard that after this year, I still want to be able to use the software. However, I would not be able to update until I subscribed again?
