Is it possible to create a bookmarks folder that exists as a file in a folder Windows of my choice (my Dropbox folder rather than my Firefox profile)?

For example, I can create a file to archive e-mail Outlook (PST) and place it in a shared folder as Dropbox, open it and work with its content from multiple computers.

Import/export built-in Firefox feature fails on two levels: having to manually manage export/import all sessions and especially, not being only unable to nothing less than the bookmarks together each time file import and export.

I have watched Add-ons, but did not have much luck there.

  1. From topic: config you can toggle browser.bookmarks.autoExportHTML to True to activate the favourites being stored in the old format bookmarks.html, which is currently unused or only used for basic bookmarks with Firefox.
  2. Then use this extension for moving backups bookmarks.html in a folder of your choice. http://www.Pikey.me.UK/Mozilla/?addon=bookmark-backup

You will get that bookmarks are saved in a format that can be easily edited and automate a new file is created each time Firefox is closed. As well as having a number of days of value of backups being saved.
I did this since Firefox 3.0 was released, during the storage of bookmarks went from bookmarks.html to places.sqlite.

Problem is that extension must be "signed" by Mozilla to work beyond 43 Firefox; not sure if the developer - Pike - plans to submit for signature or simply left to die.

Any ideas to do differently, it's probably not in the Firefox Support.

    I tried to replace the contents of the old profile folder to the new folder and I also tried to simply replace the urlclassifier3.sqlite file, but that does not work either.

    Googling didn't help me in the last 24 hours, but surely there must be a way to do it-right?

    Yes, there is a way to restore your bookmarks from your old laptop to the new. Note that profiles just replace the contents of the old folder will not work because your profiles.ini file contains a different profile name.

    I need to introduce the hierarchy to the query find/replace preset files due to a large number of custom presets.  I have a fairly long list of presets organized nomenclature, which add another level of organization would improve significantly their use. Unfortunately, InDesign does not recognize the files I have added to the folder queries search - replace (/ users/my-name/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign / Version 11.0/en_US/Find-Change Queries).  InDesign recognizes only the files that are installed with the program, i.e., glyph, Grep, text object.  And exchanging files is not practical, even though it works.

    Does anyone know if it is possible to add the hierarchy to the presets?

    I hope that this isn't just a feature request.

    The script Panel can be configured as a hierarchy, so you can move your searches saved scripts and store them in folders nested, which show that way in the control panel.

    Here is a model of AppleScript (OS x only) I use, which is easy to modify. You can run one or more searches from a single script, this version works 4 GREP searches to remove white space.

    Edit the lines in my GrepSearch ("yourfindgrep", "yourchangegrep") according to the needs. NOTE! with AppleScript slashes must be preceded by an additional backslash, so it's '\\t+' and not '\t+ '.

    For lost messages, the two most common reasons for what you describe any disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished) or bloated folders. More about that below.

    Recovery methods:

    If you use XP/SP2 or SP3, and are fully patched, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.

    To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.

    Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

    In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

    Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

    Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

    First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

    If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

    If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

    A general warning to help avoid this in the future:

    Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

    Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages.     Of course, it is possible.  According to what the text file looks like to, you can create an external table that treats the text file as if it were a table.  Otherwise, you can always read the file in PL/SQL, using the utl_file package and INSERT of PL/SQL commands.

    You have problems whatever you wantt?  If so, your zip code and explain what the problem is.

    Whenever you have any questions, please post a small example of data (CREATE TABLE and only relevant columns, INSERT statements) for all of the tables involved and the exact results you want from these data, so that people who want to help you can recreate the problem and test their ideas.  In this case, also post a small sample of the text involved file.

    If you ask about a DML operation, such as INSERT, then INSERT statements, you post should show what looks like the tables before the DML, and the results will be the content of the table changed after the DML.

    Explain, using specific examples, how you get these results from these data.

    Always say what version of Oracle you are using (for example, 11.2.0.2.0).

    I created a series of PDF forms on Adobe Pro XI which are designed to be filled out using Adobe Reader (where are saved as Adobe Reader Extended). Once the form is complete there are fields of signature that the user who digitally sign then it disables the specific form fields of editing more far. Next to the signature field, I have a date field that, at present, is using JavaScript to automatically generate the date of business at the opening. However, the question that I have is that I want this field date which will be fixed when the form is signed, rather than update again when the form is opened. Is this possible?

    The document JavaScript that I use to generate the date currently is:

    this.getField("Date1").value = util.printd ("dd/mmm/yyyy", new Date());

    But obviously, this is independent of the signature field.

    How can I create a date field which is set by the current date at the signing?

    I am very new to Adobe in general so I don't have much of an idea about how to go about doing this. Could someone please help me to do it if possible?
