Is it possible to force Media Player to view files flac in the music category?

Right now it showed that other media, its really annoying.  In addition, it seems that Media Player does not support album art for files flac.

Thank you

Hello

The extension Flac (Free Lossless Audio Codec) isn't a type of supported Windows Media Player file. However, you can use your favorite search engine to find an application that can convert the file to a supported by the Windows Media Player file type.

Important: Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

    Hello silvanfay,

When you get the blue screen on your computer? What were you doing when it appeared?

Have you changed your save location of your music files?
If so, to try to resolve the problem, open Explorer, under libraries, click the music tab and click Properties. Now make sure that your backup folder of choice is defined as your backup location. If not, click it and then click on the button "game save loction". It is perhaps one of your configuration settings which are not correct.

  • Document from Windows Media Player AND MS Windows open on the same screen

    Hello.

I'm doing a very long media (recorded voice) transcript of court recorded on Windows Media Player in a document typed on MS Word (using Windows XP).

I would like to know if it is possible to have Windows Media Player and my document strikes MS Word open on the SAME screen.  I am currently switch between two programs using my bottom toolbar.  It is extremely time consuming and not very well.  Ideally, I would like to open my Windows Media Player, in a small screen on the right upper side of my MS Word document.  This would allow me to work out of the same screen without having to click will result in my bottom toolbar to switch between these programs.  I'm sure that I explained properly :-).  ANY help, suggestions and advice will be highly appreciated.

    Kind regards

    AJS

You should be able to do it by opening the two programs, then right click on the taskbar and selecting "Tile Windows vertically".  Just make sure that they are only two open programs.

This screenshot shows WMP and WordPad, because I do not have Word installed, but it should work exactly the same thing:

  • Media Player will not stop playing when the close button is hit.

My media player works fine until I try to close. When I watch a video clip, I make sure that I have 'stop' the clip before I "close" (the little red button with an X in it, which is suppose to close the program) the player or clip will continue to play in the background. If I brings up the Task Manager, it will display no programs running, I can still here the clip and I'm going to start > all programs > media player always plays the same clip. It is not suppose to do this right? If it is then how can I change so it 'close' media player?

    Hi major347,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft answers Community Forums.

This one seems to be really weird when you began experiencing this problem?

You have a connected PDA that uses the media player? Sometimes Windows Mobile Device Center has been continuously the reactivation of WMP.

Another possible issue of the keyboard that you use may control the media player. There are known of the problem with the Logitech keyboard software. Try this if you have a Logitech software update.

Try to open the Task Manager is trying to kill the wmpsideshowgadget.exe process and check if it shutsdown.

If it works there, then, open the CONTROL PANEL

    Double-click WINDOWS SIDESHOW

Uncheck everything that has to do with WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER

You can also try to disable sharing in media player click on... Tools-> Options-> library-> configure share-> uncheck the two 'media find others to share' & "share my media".

    Check if it works.

If all the above fails try to perform the clean boot

  • Media Player rename my files

I use Media Player to rip music which I then transfer to the device that I use to listen to music on. (I.e. I do not use media player and laptop computer for playback)

Usually, I rename the files ripped and sometimes the name of the album folder. I do change the name via windows once the extraction is complete. I've noticed recently by tearing a multi-disc audiobook only occasionally of media flashed up to 'update database' player at the bottom of the screen then my renowned files would disappear to be replaced by old records and old names. He ripped disks 1 through 14 ok but it started doing this after drive 15 and its name change almost all disks and files by putting them back into the original with the original names folders.

Is there a setting to stop the media player to do this? Once his torn I really envy media player for absolutely nothing do with the files.

Hi Vivien - it should be possible, Yes. First of all check the following setting in the wmp library "organize" tab - "options" - library... Make sure that the section highlight is disabled. -Ric.

Don't know why Windows Media Player does not accept your mpeg.

    Just a suggestion:

If you don't have a video converter, google for a free Converter. No need to buy a.

    Hello

If I understand correctly that you are unable to read a file through Windows Media Player, because it is an error message saying that the file is not supported. However, you could read the same file before, is this correct?

Please post information for a better understanding of the issue.

    1. What is the format of the file you are trying to read or file extension?

    2. are you referring to a file played on a CD / DVD or stored on the computer?

    3. What is the exact error code / message appears when you try to play the file?
    4. What were the recent changes of hardware or software that are performed on the computer before the question?

You can deal with this issue

    a. file corruption

    b. incorrect Windows audio Codec

    c. the file (if it is available in the Windows media player library) is moved or deleted.

Can I use windows media player to play mp3 and have the recigition speech to convert to text?

You can get on a conversion of 70% in reading a file in Windows Media Player using something like Dragon Naturally Speaking to convert. If you set the playback speed to slow in Windows Media Player to play > play speed, you will get a better result. The best option is to download the file to an audio transcription service, but which generally costs 0, 50-1, 00 per minute of audio.
