  Is there a way to disable the Windows updates.  You should go to Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Services / click Services.  In the new window that opens, scroll down to the entrance of Windows Update.  Right-click on it and select "Properties".  Then choose "Startup Type" in the middle of the page.  Then choose "disable".  Windows Update is disabled.

  Method 1: Run the fixit.
