Is my macbook air powerful enough for 2 monitors

Is my mac powerful enough

It depends on what model you have.  See "about this Mac" from the Apple menu, then download the free app Mactracker since:

http://Mactracker.ca/

Select your model of macbook air and look under the tab "memory and graphics.

It seems that the models after 2012 are capable of driving 2 monitors.

I hope that you are not in a surprise but a MacBook Air not backup to iCloud. It can record data in iCloud drive (if you saved it specifically to this place) and can synchronize Photos, Contacts, etc to iCloud if you had set it to do. You can use any computer and connect to https://www.icloud.com/ to see what is stored. I hope this is good news and that it contains what you hope.

  • The CPU is not powerful enough for Oracle database 11g?

The CPU is not powerful enough for Oracle database 11g?

I installed the datatase Oracle 11 g on my host by using the default configuration of oracle yesterday. Today, I find some the alert message: "CPU usage is 86,79%, through attention (80) or critical (95) threshold.» The average value of the CPU usage is 80.85% and I have to wait for more than 10 seconds for opening a page of the EM.
My host is HP workstation xw4200. CPU is 3.4 GHz. No other applications on that host.
I want to know: what is the main reason for the shortage of CPU resources? Because the database Oracle 11g itself is exhausting CPU or because there are a few configuration issues?

    qkc wrote:
1 is it true that most of the CPU is exhausted by the EM control tool?

    It's quite possible.

It is also one of the reasons why we encourage people to drop EM Database Console and switch to EM Grid Control. The burden is then on another server.

    2. why this index has been added in advance by Oracle Corporation? It does not seem that each tool is set up perfectly in advance.

It was probably not required under ideal conditions, in which it has been designed and tested.

Why is your environment not identical to the designed conditions that use Oracle? ;-)

  • MacBook Air suddenly restarted for the first time

So, today I just internet browsing (Firefox) and using Spotify and my computer to reboot due to a problem. I'm a Mac user forever, and the computer never restarted itself. I sent the diagnostic and data use to Apple, but I don't remember what it was. Now I'm checking Console and I see a panic report related to the kernel. What is going on? It is a software problem? I have a Time Machine backup to the case where.

My computer is a 2015 Macbook Air running El Capitan 10.11.13

    Hi aliendays,

I understand that you had a kernel panic on your Mac and are eager to find out what caused it.   Without a little more information since the report of panic or knowing what you found in the Console application, I can't really tell you.  However, I can give you some information here about the kernel panics and some troubleshooting steps to overcome them.  You're already the most important step in keeping your Mac backed up with Time Machine.

  • My machine seems powerful enough for C4?

    Hey guys and girls,

I have a machine from 2012/13, and I'm not sure it's good for the C4.

Here are the specs: hp pavilion slimline s5-1414 PC

2nd generation Intel Core processor i3-2130

4 GB of DDR3 system memory

    1 TB harddrive

    Intel HD Graphics 2000

    Win 8

This computer has been sitting around the House for a few years unused. I thought maybe I should do when shopping for a new PC, like this one, HP ENVY Desktop - Intel Core processor i5-12 GB memory - hard 2 TB silver 750-114 - Best Buy

but I'm not sure. Any advice?

    dionusos123,

Your "desktop" HP slimline system is severely lacking for first Pro CC for the following reasons:

    (1) the i3-2130 is not only a dual-core CPU (albeit with hyperthreading), but also the older generation Sandy Bridge CPU. And no dual-core processor, even with hyperthreading, does so in Premiere Pro as a mediocre one quad-core Intel i5 CPU of the same generation of CPU.

    (2) 4 GB of RAM is the absolute bare minimum amount of RAM even run first Pro CC at all, according to the official Adobe system requirements. 8GB is the minimum amount of RAM practice that is needed to run the first Pro CC reasonably well, but 16 GB or more RAM is recommended. (S5-1414 has only two DIMM slots; therefore, the maximum capacity memory DDR3 system is 16 GB).

    (3) your system is entirely based on the integrated Intel HD Graphics 2000 on the processor, who is old enough to take does not support the Mercury Playback Engine (MPE) GPU acceleration at all. It does not yet support OpenCL, CUDA let alone. Therefore, your system when first executing is permanently stuck in MPE software mode only, that uses only the CPU for rendering. But with the central unit is also low, don't expect anywhere near smooth performance. In addition, while the system motherboard has a PCI-e 2.0 x 16 slot, limits the height of a graphics card upgrade to low-profile cards.

    (4) as some authors have said, a single drive hard for absolutely everything (including the OS, the project and media files and exports) is woefully inadequate. You need at least a second drive - but your system may not have enough space in the box for a second disc. However, the system has two ports USB 3.0 at the front of the case, but because the chipsets Intel in series 6 as the H61 which is used in this system slimline HP lack native USB 3.0 supports, a third-party chipset is used for USB 3.0 functions.

And as others have said in these forums, the minimum requirements of the system of Adobe first Pro CC 2015 are a joke: such a capable minimum system will launch the first, but you won't actually do anything at all within the program.

In other words, I would recommend saving up for an entirely new system.

  • Logic Pro / Pro Tools on a Macbook Air

Looking to buy a Macbook Air 11 inches for portability. You wonder how Logic Pro and Pro Tools 12 X running on this, logic especially since I'll probably use that more. I was able to run Logic Pro 9 very well on an old iMac (2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB of memory) - more than a dozen securities using several plugins - although if I remember well Pro Tools 11 had more problems. Storage space is not big, but I use an external hard drive for non-current projects.

I'm no problem under Logic Pro X and Pro Tools on a MacbookAir 12.

However, mine is the version 13 "and 2.2 ghz processor i7, 8 GB of RAM, so it's the highest specification.

And I use an external flash drive.

I recently met a guy, he runs Logic Pro based 11 "Macbook air, without problems, if it does not use a lot of tracks or plugins.

the macbook air is too large, very light.

I would go for the higher specification that you can afford to really, with the 13 "those offers a bigger processor.

with Pro Tools, you suffer on the basic 11 ".

  • MacBook Air ceased to recognize Vizio TV via HDMI

    Hello

I have been connecting my 13 "mid-2011 MacBook Air to my smart Vizio TV with a bolt of lightning for a HDMI cable for a while now to stream online TV. It's very simple. (Forgive me if these descriptions are a bit off, but to the best of my memory). With connected to the laptop, once that the cable is connected, the TV/HDMI adapter as well as the choice for the choice of display Built In both appeared in the display preferences panel. I choose the HDMI connection, go to the "input" on the TV Panel, select HDMI source, and that's it. Connected. Lately I had trouble with some buffering, and it was suggested to connect the TV as another option in this Panel of preferences on the airwaves. Unfortunately, I can't remember what we called this connection/option. But I did, there are options for the proposed resolution, which I brought from 1080 to 720 (another buffer solution I'd come through). Everything connected very well, and the entire installation sank my program with no buffering either. I felt that I had sent to my problem of buffering. Until...

The next time I went to connect to TV, he did not appear in the display of the preferences panel. Indeed, the Panel itself was different, simplified. I tried the "hold down Option detect poster", reset the SMC, zap PRAM and nothing.

For memory, the Macbook Air still connect to my monitor ViewSonic Desktop via a bolt of lightning to the HDMI adapter connected to a HDMI cable. In fact, I thought that it might reset everything that was causing the problem, but it didn't.

I am trying to determine if the change of the type of things screwed connection. It's the only explanation I can find. Any comment is welcome.

    Patrick

Info extra, when the cable is connected, the Macbook Air flickers a couple of times, the screen goes black and says "Data recovery" as he usually did, but said then "Signal"!

Of course, this does not solve my question. I don't know why, it is marked as such.

  • I have a new macbook air, how can I sync it to my current macbook pro?

Hi forum, I'm sure this question has been asked several times.  However, when I did a search I could not find an answer.

In any case, I have a new macbook air I bought for travel purposes.  At first, I didn't want to sync it with my macbook existing pro... now, I think it was a bad decision.  And... I can't understand how to "marry" the two.  I would like to use the macbook pro as my 'home' or ' base' machine.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Thank you

    edevinco

You can sync things like photos, contacts, calendars, reminders, notes, etc. through the settings in the Apple menu > System Preferences > iCloud.

If you have any documents, you do not want to be on both machines and synchronized you can do this by turning on iCloud drive in this same window of preferences and before moving the documents in iCloud drive folder. A way convenient to make this file accessible is to go in the preferences from the Finder, click on sidebar at the top of the Preferences of the Finder window and put a checkmark in front of iCloud drive in the Favorites section of this window.

  • Is powerful enough to run Creative Suite of MacBook Air?

I have completed about about my Creative Cloud 30 day trial and would sign. However, I am also picking a new macbook to run it. I have not a laptop for the time that I was using my iMac for everything. What I want to know, is the new MacBook Air, which was launched yesterday powerful enough to run Adobe creative applications? A macBook Pro looks the obvious choice that like it's my second computer and I used to use it as much as my iMac I focus mainly on the weight and the price - I wil he uses mainly on a trip a few months each year, but I still need to work efficiently with creative cloud. Can you please specify?

Yes, any MAC that exceeds the 10.6.8 can run creative cloud.

The specification techniques for various applications of SC 6 can be verified here: http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/tech-specs.html

Hope it will help you decide better. !!

  • C external drive for MacBook Air

I need an external drive C ONLY for transfer applications such as TurboTax, iBank, etc disc to hard drive on the MacBook Air. Bought an external drive of C & computer recognize no more disc stuck in drive C. visit mandatory at the Genius Bar to eject the disc. Genius used Apple and immediately recognized hard drive. My very small requirement & will use player for videos, music, photos, etc. Probably use no more than 3 times a year. Intended to save a few $$$ to by not buying is not Apple drive.

I'm on the right track? Number of external market readers if some should work correctly. Now very hesitant, but he must overcome this obstacle.

    Thank you

What is external drive C you mentioned? External DVD drive? It is probably not entirely compatible with your MacBook Air.

If you have another Mac that has the DVD player, DVD sharing would be best way rather than using your C drive.
