Is my netbook at risk after receiving phone calls from phishing?

Phone number calls for me recently which seems to be men Indians telling me I have a problem with my computer.i hung up I was busy and told them to call the later.i now realize that it was phishing.my netbook seems to now develop problems more often.do you think that its all plugged in, I must notify my bank on it.   Thank you chris

You're right that it was a scam; one who is quite common. As long as you hung-up on them and don't give them any personal information, or follow the instructions of the appellants, in particular with regard to connect remotely to your system, your system should be good. It's a scam and with various names and phone numbers, is
    becomes more common lately.

In addition to their money get on your part to do anything of any value,
If you leave them in your computer, which knows what losses they did are

So if you have done so, I highly recommend that you do both of the following

Received phone call from a man named Thomson.  He said he was with Windows in the United States and Florida.   Was given the phone number of 315-506-4544.  Asking for help with problems with my computer detected by Windows.  He said that I was risking my computer and overwriting of files.  Very difficult to understand.  He asked I right click on my computer and highlight all the files with any questions.  I didn't trust this person so I hung up the phone.  I continued to return calls 4 - 5 times.  This doesn't seem to be a legitimate caller.  My security proovider is AVG and they say my computers are recording to date.  Was it a bogus scam

  • IMessages receiving and calls from girls, it does not!

Ms and my daughter share an Apple ID. She has recently updated to IOS 9 and I am 7. I'm receiving his iMessages and receive phone calls from numbers that we share (not all of them are iPhones). What should we change the setting to stop what is happening? If it goes out his "call forwarding" that she does not get my texts to her. Help!

As you are both sharing the same Apple ID you both will receive the same iMessages. The simplest solution would be to have yourself or your daughter, put in place a new Apple ID and this should solve the problem.

Unable to make or receive phone calls after installing IOS 10

    Hi Drovers run,

I understand that after updating your iPhone to iOS 10, you are more able to send or receive phone calls. I know it's important to be able to use your iPhone as a phone, so I'm happy to provide assistance.

Read this article to help to make and receive calls:
If you cannot make or receive calls on your iPhone - Apple Support

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. See you soon!

  • Cannot make or receive phone calls after the upgrade to iOS 9.3

Can't scream: cannot make or receive phone calls after the upgrade to iOS 9.3

    SOLVED

    Went into settings,

    Cell phone,

    Cellular data options,

then change the setting to EnableLTE OFF,

    It's for my at & t att, iphone 6 s

No joy for me.  I can't make calls, but I can not receive or use call forwarding.  So frustrating!

  • Cannot make or receive phone calls after the upgrade to iOS 9.2

Last night, I could make and receive phone calls. This morning I upgraded to iOS 9.1 to 9.2, and now I can't make or receive calls.

Any call I make - other iPhones, to landlines, whether on my list of Favorites or not - says 'call X... '. "(where X is the name of the contact - X is omitted if I don't dial a contact). After a few seconds, the phone says "Call ended." and I get three quick tones.

When they call me, it goes to voicemail once they hear 1 or 2 rings. I don't hear anything. The call does not appear in the 'recent' folder, but I received a voice message.

I don't have to "do not disturb" lit.

My iPhone is a 4 s, which can be a key because my wife has a 5. She has just upgraded and has no problem with calls. We are both on the Sprint network, using 'Ting' which is a dealer - so our actual provider's Ting. My phone says "Version 9.2 (13 c 75)", carrier "Sprint 23.0" and model MD377LL/A."

I turned the phone on and off several times, and also to do a reset (now hold both power and home until the apple logo appears). neither helped. I double-clicked the original key and removed the phone application and all other applications, then restarted the phone application, which also helped.

    WiFi works.

A related issue is to: IOS 9.2 update .

    OK, now it works.

I think that what I had was specific to my carrier - as well as anyone with this problem likely needs to communicate with their provider!

For Ting (Sprint), here's what I had to do:

    1. to connect to a Wi - Fi network

    2. dial # 873283 #.

    3. press the call key

    4. press "Start Service Update" and wait a minute or two.

    5. press on "Full Service Update" and wait a minute or two for the phone to reconnect to the Sprint network.

    6. once the upper line shows that Sprint is connected, I could make and receive phone calls.
