  First of all, I use a PC and I am creating a 'fixed provision' epub using Adobe InDesign. I have included pictures and buttons to navigate through the book, and everything works fine, until I try to use search in Adobe Digital Editions. The search function works fine in ibooks, then I tried to open it in any other ebook readers, which has blurred my text and images, this Adobe Digital Editions software did not. For this reason, I want to stay with using Adobe Digital Editions. All text is online, so I know this isn't the problem. I tried to save the file as a "Reflowable" epub, even though I know that this will not work for me, just to see if the search function would work, and he did. So my question is, why can I not use the search feature of Adobe Digital Edition with a provision fixed epub, and is it possible that I can fix it?

  If anyone wonders, I found a solution to this problem, but also problems with fonts does display correctly in the Adobe Digital Editions software.

  Basically, you download the trial and it works with InDesign. It will also allow you to make a Kindle Edition, which is excellent. Basically you pay $99 for every epub to create it is less than 50 pages, and $199 you will get an epub with an unlimited number of pages. It also adds a lot of great animation features.   I think I got it. Go to programs. Click Action Center. Go to the bottom left corner and click on Windows compatibility Trouble Shooter. This tool will guide you through the rest of what to point and click on specific points related to the Adobe Digital Editions software and its compatibility with Windows 7. There are options for tackling many programs that are running in these guests. Choose.   ADE is not a very good reader FXL EPUB. Try Readium for Chrome or Kobo, iBooks.

  I am running Windows 7 64 bit, my OS is a new installation (3 weeks). At random times during computer use, adobe digital editions trying to move (even if it is already installed), and then several error messages spawn saying "an instance of the editions of adobe 4.02 Installer is already running". Sometimes, this will result in 20 + error messages even if I immediately press the button cancel on the installer.

  I went through my whole computer and deleted all instances of the installation exe editions, checked my startup in msconfig, run malwarebytes; Spybot; most of the security; empty temporary files; uninstalled digital editions and install I tried using the command prompt.

  The guest seems to occur more frequently after starting my computer, sometimes I get a string of instances separated from 3-4 in the first 5 to 10 minutes to boot. But the installer happens then also randomly during the use of the regular computer, even when idle. This is getting very frustrating because it that the installer requires my screen alone, drag me out of whatever program I was using at the time.

  Any help would be much appreciated, please let me know if I can provide more information to solve this stupid question.

  Well, I found my own solution, it can help you as well. When I got the error to install it, I opened the Task Manager and tipped into the 'processes' tab I've selected one of the instances of the error, right click and press "open file location".

  It took me to the file in my windows user account, which seemed to be some partially installed temp files. Delete this file (shift + delete), and the stupid problem should disappear.

  I found a thread similar to this discussion even and they suggested uninstall ver 2 and by installing the version 1.7.2.  I did, but it still doesn't work.  I then uninstalled the version 1.7.2 and reinstalled ver 2 and it seems to work now.  I was able to download and transfer books from my library site in the Kobo reader.  I also downloaded a book of samples of your library and I was able to open it now.  I don't know what was the cause of the problem earlier, but it works fine for me now.

I'm still stuck on a screen that does not allow me to use my mouse to the start of the Digital Editions. Y at - it a patch or a certain type of update that I need? If so, how can I update or use this hotfix if ADE keeps me from using my mouse? I have about 140 books in ePub format on my ADE. I said earlier that I had only 40. I was wrong. I have about 140 pounds. Together are 140 ePub books too for ADE to manage?

  Hi all

  I found through my personal computer, a system within Windows 7. This system is under programs. You access the Action Center under programs. On the bottom left says Windows compatibility Trouble Shooter. Click on this word list. Use it with any program that you have problems with your operating system. You can choose from a list of every program that you have.

  I went to this selection system under programs and clicked on Action Center. I then clicked Windows compatibility Trouble Shooter. Upward came a command prompt. I used this prompt to choose my software Adobe Digital Editions 4.0.3 or other version I have now. I ran the diagnostic and invites another came to change the compatibility to XP. I did start at the moment. If I have more problems in the future, I'll know to clear the program, download the same program and then apply this compatibility Windows Trouble Shooter to my methods that have stopped working.

  This should explain things well or keep guessing you, but that's exactly where to go in Windows 7 to learn more about the problem you are experiencing and how to solve.
