is not the window Defender sufficient virus protection?
Windows 7 repeat myself that I should get antivirus protection... is not the window Defender sufficient virus protection?
No, Defender (on W7) by itself is not enough. Get an AV package as well. There are a lot of those who are free to choose to include MSE.
Note that if you install MSE, it replaces the defender and defender will be disabled.
PS - Defender on W8 is not the same as the Defender on W7

1. about date of first notice this behavior about 3 weeks ago.
2. subscription of BitDefender Antivirus date about 19/07/2010 expires on 18/07/2011.
3. no application for protection antivirus has been installed before installing Bitdefender Antivirus because this application installed after Format my machine.
4. before the formatting, I was also using Bitdefender Antivirus 2009, but after using AVG Antivirus free - trial and I never use free trial Norton or McAfee for this machine.
Between
I never use Norton or McAfee free trial for this machine.
Note that I didn't ask if YOU had never used or installed a trial free Norton or McAfee, I asked if a such Norton or McAfee free trial camepre-installed on your computer when you bought it?
If that were the case, the test free Norton or McAfee have been re-installed, but not valid, when you reinstalled Windows. If this is the case, you MUST uninstall the free trial AND download/run a specific removal tool & restart BEFORE you install updates or Service Packs and upgrades of IE AND BEFORE installing your new antivirus application (for example, BitDefender).

deleted the windows on windows defender and impossible to reinstall! Message comes out and says that I should not install windows defender, because it came with windows vista. How can I try to fix it when I have windows Defender on my computer?
You can not delete Defender in Vista.
It is part of the Vista operating system.
You can only activate / it:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-Windows-Defender-on-or-off
Enable or disable the Windows Defender
Many anti-virus have conflict Defender (McAfee, AVG, etc.), and turn it out / conflict with it.
Microsoft Security Essentials, it turns off because it has its own version.
See you soon.

Windows Defender vs Microsoft Security Essentials
What is the diffenrece between the Windows Defender and Microsoft Security Essentials? One is more recommended than the other or guarantee better security than the other? .. .or do they use the same definition files and also provide a safe protection?
Please feel free to share your own opinions and thoughts on the comparison of the two programmes. It would be much appreciated.
If you run either of these two programs... That who and why?
Thank you friends.
Windows Defender is not an anti-virus program. MSE is a comprehensive security program and that you want to use. -

Hello
If you use Norton, AVG, Avira, Microsoft Security Essentials, McAfee, etc. the default action is for Windows Defender must be disabled, that these AntiVirus programs have their own Antispyware Applications.
There is nothing to worry.
Using both programs at the same time can cause system conflicts, etc.
If you are using one of the above AntiVirus programs, this Information from David O - Support Engineer shows you how to manually enable Windows Defender (disregard information from uninstalling; not possible in Vista):
"Go to start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. Look for Windows Defender.
Right click and select Properties , ensure that Startup Type is automatic.
Once modified, click apply and OK.
Quit and restart your computer. Check the back take the same path to confirm that Windows Defender has started"
.
If you want to have additional protection against malware using the version FREE of Malwarebytes AntiMalware:

And for now, change startup Vista programs without using Defender, use one of these methods:
"How to use MSCONFIG in Windows Vista"

Or the program Autoruns for FREE:
"V11.21 Autoruns for Windows"
