Is "PXE - MOF: PXE ROM. exit" then below I don't get, "No Bootable Device - Insert Boot Disk and press any key any" why?

I bought the lifetime windows, defender security system, I also downloaded the windows repair and ran it, I even cleaned my c drive and defragmented, but I always get the same black screen. This is what it looks like.

PXE - MOF: Exit PXE ROM.

No boot device - insert boot disk and press any key

/} In this area here, I slash turns clockwise

Does anyone know how planned it and most importantly, how to prevent?

Try to change your startup settings for...

1 CD-ROM
2 USB
3. HARD DRIVE
4. (if available) floppy drive
5 LAN.
You can change it by pressing the button shown next to "Boot Order"

    Hello

    1. What is the brand and model of the laptop?

2 have you made any changes to the computer before the show?

Method 1:  Change the boot order in the BIOS settings:

    See the following steps:

Important: BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

    (a) start on typing Dungeon either F1, F2, F10, Esc, or DEL to enter the BIOS Setup.

Warning: some manufacturers use F10 for recovery of the system.

    (b) glance to "Drive Configuration", "Boot order" or similar

    (c) check the second drive the first boot device CD/DVD and hard drive.

    (d) to save the settings and exit.

    Method 2:

Step 1: Trying to boot into safe mode and see if that helps.

Start your computer in safe mode:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

If step 1 work, try step 2

Step 2:  A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

    Hello

Message PXE is a typical sign of a malfunction of the HARD drive.
Why? Because the laptop is trying to boot from LAN.
    Why LAN?
Because other bootable devices have not been found.

I would recommend so check the first page of the BIOS. If the HARD drive is not listed, this means that the HARD drive is faulty and should be replaced.

I think that there is a "insert the disk and press a key" after that, but I'm away from home and have not all disks (not sure if there are home either!). So I tried a few off/ons and now does not go as far as the Toshiba screen.

Obviously HDD is not recognized correctly, but the question is why.
It's new model of laptop, and you should contact Toshiba service as soon as possible.

    Hello

This seems to indicate that your computer is unable to boot from the hard drive and then attempted a network boot rather dictated by your BIOS boot settings.

There could be several causes of hard disk boot failure. Some of them will be really bad new especially if you are not saved. I doubt that this forum will be able to help more. My suggestion is to take the PC to a repair shop, preferably one that you can get a referral for.

There are normally 3 possible reasons of this error you have.

    1. the BIOS boot order set to Network Boot: BIOS settings to check the boot order.

    2. check the cable connections between the motherboard and the hard disk.

    3. doesn't have a hard drive.

  • Satellite L500 - boot PXE ROM message

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite L500 only a few weeks, after a reboot I got the following error message,
"For failure of Realtek PCI-E Ethernet Controller PXE - E61 Media Test, check cable PXE - M0F outgoing PXE ROM.

I tried everything I could think off, ultimately exploitation 0 cash to restart to try to restore the factory default, however the laptop just made the turn, loading the operating system, drivers etc, restart, then back to the loading of the operating system again. I suspect the PXE - E61 error indicates the hard drive has developed a defect and will need to be replaced, but I would avoid to return under warranty if possible.

Could someone either confirm that there is nothing I can do other than return under warranty or offer me a fix?

    Thank you very much
    Brettie

    Hi Brettie,

I had a similar problem on my laptop HARD drive became faulty after a few weeks. I think that this is not uncommon and can still happen, so all data must always be backed up on a second disc. But for example I have a laptop that is already 4 years old and the HARD drive still works like the first day! ;)

    > it back under warranty if possible.
Of course, you can fix this problem under warranty. Simply contact your local authorized service provider and explain your problem. They will help you!

  • Portege R200 - PXE - E61: media test failure - insert system disk

PXE - E61: media test failure, check cable of
PXE - MOF outgoing PXE ROM

    Insert system disk in drive

Now my model isn't a hard drive and I bought second hand, so I have no recovery disks.
I checked the HARD drive and its seems connected properly.

Would I need to buy an external drive and try a system disk or is there anything else I could try.

    Any suggestions or advice?

PXE - E61: media test failure, check cable message appears because the laptop has attempted to boot from LAN.
    Why?
Because it could not start the HARD drive, or another source like CD/DVD drive.
Usually this happens because of faulty HARD drive.

    So how to fix?

I think first of all you will need to replace the HARD drive.

Since the Portégé R200 doesn't support CD/DVD drive, you must install the system using bootable flash USB stick memory or you would need to buy an external CD-ROM USB drive that would be compatible with protégé R200

    Hello

    Check if AutoPlay is enabled.

Important: this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756/ ) how to back up and restore the registry in Windows

The AutoPlay feature may not be turned on. To enable automatic playback, follow these steps:

    a. Click Start and then click Run.

    b. type regedit and then click OK.

    c. look for, and then click the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CDRom

    d. double-click Autorun and see if a zero or one is displayed in the value data box.

    ·         If the value for Autorun is 1, go to step e.

    ·         If the value for Autorun is 0, right-click Autorun, and then click on edit. In the value data box, type 1 and then click OK.

    e. look for, and then click the following subkey:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

    f. double-click NoDriveTypeAutoRun to see its value. If the value is 0xb5, AutoRun for CD-ROM is disabled. To enable the Autorun feature, follow these steps:

    g. right-click NoDriveTypeAutoRun.

    h. click on change.

    i. in the value data box, type 91.

    j. Select hexadecimal and then click OK.

    k. exit from the registry editor.
