  I have a command that I want to insert in an RMAN script. It's actually an OS command, you rename a file (the log generated by the script file). Here is the command I use:

  /oracle/backup/database_backups/BackupLog/"rman_backup"`date '+_%Y%m%d_%H%M%S'`".log"';

  When running, it fails with this error:

  I tried different qutations to mark this '+' as a special character, but could not find the right way to get rid of the error.
  If someone has already encountered this problem, please let me know how to solve.

I want to share a folder (with option of folder of VMWARE) my machine windows 7 because this folder contains the tools that I use on my Windows 2008 VMWARE. Is there a command WITHOUT AC for a shared folder with my Windows 7 PC?

• VMware Player tells me to 'host reserved RAM', but the option does not exist.  Is there a command for vmx to this file?

  I am running VMware Player on a host Ubuntu 14.04, Win 7 pro x 64 comments.  When I start the client OS VMWare gives me this warning

  The OP said "I'm under VMware Player on a Ubuntu 14.04 host" so the file name and path you mentioned is not applicable.

  @LukeJS host on a Ubuntu (Linux) from the file name won't get the .ini extension and will be simply called the config and will be parked at/etc/vmware /.  So with the machine virtual shutdown is not suspended and VMware Player closed then a Terminal used the following command.

  sudo nano/etc/vmware/config

  Then add the following line.

  prefvmx.minVmMemPct = "100".

  It is essentially the same parameter that gets the value of the UI of VMware Workstation preferences for submission in response to the message that despite the instructions contained in the message does not exist in the VMware Player preferences user interface.

  I have a batch file that returns the status of the database to a file ex: "OPEN." Now I want to read the output file and search for the string 'OPEN' to an another batch file. any suggestions?. This is similar to the unix "grep" command I want to be done in the windows batch file.

  Google found some questions, but not editing responses.
  
  So far:
  -J' checked folder & users rights.
  -J' found some files in /tmp/ - yes I have "backup" the archivelogs saved to-delete files in / tmp - I only active archivelogmode so that I can onlinebackup
  -J' managed to connect via rman and run REMOVE OBSOLETE manual - result above.
  -Real I delete the game one by one to find the set of problems. (delete backupset 12345) in the list manually.

  additional: is there a way to let the oracle to remove the archvielog directory-empy after you remove newspapers to breast?

  This isn't RMAN question by saying, but it is related to my RMAN script. Part of this RMAN script is below:

  RMAN target / catalog log ${RMANID}/${RMANPW}@${RMANSID} = ${TMPFILE} < < EOF

  When the script runs, if I run ' ps - ef | the command grep rman"(of my own code as 'oracle' user or user), I see following:

  Oracle 32522 32492 36 15:32 pts/1

  00:00:01 rman target / catalog rman/rman2013@rmancat log = / tmp/oratmp32492

  Is it possible to hide the values of variables (Id, Pwd, SID) of the "ps - ef" command?

  Otherwise, any other an alternates?

  I changed my script and broke the order by following two lines, and now I don't see the username / password when I run "ps - ef" command:

  From:

  RMAN target / catalog log ${RMANID}/${RMANPW}@${RMANSID} = ${TMPFILE}<>

  TO:

  RMAN target / log = ${TMPFILE}<>

  Connect catalog ${RMANID}/${RMANPW}@${RMANSID}

  I created a test file, use TextEdit, named test.commandand saved to my desktop.  The file contains these commands:

  When I double-click the file, however, it sometimes just opened in the Finder.  Other times, I get an error message saying I don't have permission to run the file.  I thought that the chmod command was to manage the authorization, but maybe I'm not using it correctly.

  You must # follow-up by the! as the very first 2 characters of the file.

  And as bash is the default shell, you should probably actually tell

  #! / bin/bash

  The chmod + x command should be performed after you have created the file test.command, not inside her.

  Another way to run shell commands is via Automator-> run the Shell Script

  Automator has no need to open a Terminal Services session to process orders.  But if you want to have the command display something, it might be simpler to use a .command file, although there are ways to view things in an Automator app as well.

  It passes the command, but it does not run.
