  Microsoft Office XP is not compatible with Windows 7.  Office 2003 and Office 2007 are.

  In any case what I do in the meantime is printing pictures on the half of the full paper and then cut to the size of the half. I print pages for a 8.5 x 5.5 book. The format is bleed around the edges of the page, that's why I expect to be able to print on paper of the half sheet.
