  Bassically I want to add text to a chain control / indicator without losing the formatting of the previous text.

  For a part of a program that I create, data will be transmitted to and from a serial device. I want to display this data in a chain control / indicator and change the color of the text of certain strings depending on data type (sent, received). Basically as a nice log window.

  

  At the moment, I update the chain control / indicator by reading the text and concatenated with the new string. However, this method removes the colors of previous text :-(

  Is it possible to add data to the control of the chain / indicator without losing the text previous formatting?

  I started to create a sub vi who reads a text both character and adds a new element in an array (offset color and text), if the color is distinguished by the previous character. Only problem is it seems to be quite time CPU.

  Actually, no. This means that you will have to use workarounds. Your workaround solution seems a bit involved. Basically, all you need to do is just to keep track of the pairs of end start/selection selection that must be colored in a table. Then just you loop in this table to color the text marked by the power positions.

  An alternative is to use a different indicator. Rather than an indicator of the string, you can use a table with a column. You can then set the foreground color on a cell by cell basis, and add a new line (row) will not affect the coloration of the previous lines.

  Yes.  Click on the email at the top of the page and highlight the bottom and shift, click.  Then delete the whole thing.

  Usually the excel add-in has been backwards compatible, I have not tried all the features, but what I used seems to be ok.

  In the latest version of Acrobat Reader DC you can anchor the hand tool in the upper part.

  Please make sure that your Acrobat Reader DC is updated (check the update under the Help menu).

  Then click on the button at the end of the floating toolbar.

  I'm sorry, but the hand tool to pan on the document is available in the bottom floating toolbar.  There is no way to add it to the toolbar at the top.

  This seems to be the behavior of the design.

I'm embarrassed by the ceaseless appearance of what seems to be a (Heavy Red Box) Navigation frame that appears by pressing the hand tool to select a new location.   You click and drag IMMEDIATELY to use the hand tool. There is no way to change this behavior.

  You can use an arrow to label image where with the normal state the image of the arrow must be different from the current state.

  I would like to delete all lines that do not have an "Ident" between the values of 3AD00000 and 3AD0001E. So for the data above the fourth row would be removed. The only way I can see to do this is to form a 1 d table. Is there a better approach?

  After you've sorted your data, you can use the function InRange. Combined with a "search in 1 table D", you get the range you really want.

• overset text when creating background using the rectangle tool

  I met a strange problem that I can't solve alone, and I can't describe it well enough for a search engine to see if anyone else has experienced. I have a document with text and graphics on the page. I've created a header in the master document, but as soon as I tried to create a background color by dragging a rectangle on any page, it says that my header text is overset. I tried to send the bottom at the back of the document in the rearrange menu, always in excess. Tried to create the background on another layer below the text of the header... always in excess. Curiously however, when I clicked on the Red '+' symbol in the text box and click outside of it (as if I had to create a new text box to continue the overset text) will be the text magically adjusted comfortably inside its original text box (and no new text box is created). So I thought that solved the problem, but all the lines of text in the body of the document are always in excess. I have the piece longer than 100 boxes so I don't want to do it manually... and even when I try to adjust the text box to solve the problem "in excess", I have to drag the right text box at the edge of the page so that it is some text can reside outside the area covered by the master page background.

  It is clear that indesign is to see the bottom not as background at all and instead a foreground that covers the text, but what is weird is that this isn't matter if I send it to the back, and it affects all the graphic elements, text. Is it a kind of void master page that I'm missing/don't understand? Thanks for the help!

  It can be a text wrapping, try to select text block, then go to the object menu > text block Options > General > ignore the dressing.

• What is the 'right' way to add a partial outline / shadow to the text? And when outline you text?

  This is part of a book cover, I do it for a project that will move to a digital printing press. I like the combination of white and blue green, but I wanted to add a little more punch, so I added the part contour black.

  

  Issues related to the:

  (1) is there a way to right way/wrong to do this? I simply made a copy of the live black text, then sent behind the white copy and pushed him down and more. Is there a reason why it's a lower approach to the use of a shadow effect?

  (2) currently, all text is still alive. Should I change it to outlines before the last PDF to send to the printer?

  Shadow wouldn't be too good, because it causes the pixelation.

  But you can create a fill of the text object in the appearance Panel. Move it below the characters. Apply the effect > Distort & transform > Transform to move down and to the right.

  In this way, the text can be changed easily if necessary

  When you create the PDF file for printing just incorporate the police. Should happen automatically if you do not change the embed settings
