Is there a way to make Virtual Center to report older versions of tools like OK?

I ask this question because we don't have the luxury of being able to always upgrade VMware tools to the latest versions until appropriate testing has been done.  So with this in mind is it a way to Virtual Center to report a specific version or more like ok?

In my environment we only the chance to perform updates VMware tools every 6 months and on a specific version that has been carefully tested.  Tell VC only reports as obsolete tools if they are inferior to this version?  If new tools are added with patches later they would not get installed with the function "Auto Update" until we are ready for it.

Thank you!

Nope.
