Faster analysis

Hello world

I'm relatively new to LabVIEW and here's my work: I need to import a very large data (16 MB) of a long string of 16-bit binary numbers.  I will analyze these data in 4 columns of 16-bit numbers, until the end of the file.

development: If the data were a meter (represented in hexadecimal) and he started of 0000, 0001... FFFF, 0000, 0001, etc data would look like this:

0000000100020003000400050006000700080009000A000B000C (and so on for a file of 16 megabytes).

I must do this:

0000 0001 0002 0003

0004 0005 0006 0007

0008 0009 000D 000 b (and thus, delimited by tabs).

I have the VI attached to this function, with the flexibility of the analysis it in any number of columns, while counting and change accordingly.   I also used the loop iteration 'i' as the registry change by multiplying it by the number of columns needed by using "Write on the worksheet file."  I then compared the time 4 meter (in this case) and compared to the length in bytes of the total file to identify the expressions of folklore to complete the loop.

This program works.  The problem is, it takes too much time to analyze this way for a 16 MB file.  Adding separators tab and transport returns increase the output file in a 30 MB file and it takes about 2 hours to analyze in total.  I did this as eloquent and simple as possible, but Im wondering if there is another method to do that to make this faster (covering less than one hour).  Is there a limitation in LabVIEW that im overlooking?  or simply my CPU is too slow?  work with the berries usually this slow?  each comparison of the length of bytes and counter after each loop iteration takes up most of the time?

I think that my lack of experience with labVIEW finally takes its toll when you work with large files.

One thought: get your writing to the file of spreadsheet in the while loop continually will slow down your WAY down.  Add a shift register and use it to store data until you reach the end of the file and then write all the information in the worksheet.

  • Windows Mail sends a single attachment in the form of several parts in several emails

When I send an email with an attachment that is larger than approximately 100 KB, Windows Mail it sends multiple messages.  Here's what happens:

I try to send a message with an attachment that is larger than 100 KB.  When the tasks window comes up, slot the tab 'task', he says:

    "Send 5 messages using"Silverstar".

[The number 5 is just one example.  He tried to send anywhere from 2 to 9 messages instead of just the 1, it should be sent.  The number seems to be proportional to the size of the attachment.]

The part of the progression of the window, said

    «Sending message 1 of 5 (part) 1 of 5...» "

When the 5 messages are received, they are identical, with the original filename of the attachment automatically added to the subject line.  In all the messages received, the accessory itself is unopenable, and its name was changed to '5'].  When I opened the attachment that works, the other 4 have received emails are automatically sent to the deleted items folder.

Who receives these messages often get a warning from the attachment suspicious or it is blocked by their anti-virus software.

This problem just started suddenly after that Windows Mail worked fine for centuries.

Here's what I tried to do to diagnose the problem:
I checked all my internet and dial-up connections, but all parameters were normal.

I thought that the problem could be caused by a virus or a worm, so I checked all my security settings and ran all my scans of security...  Avast! Antivirus, Postini, Spybot Search & destroy, Windows Defender and Windows Firewall.  [I keep up to date and run fast analyses daily and weekly in-depth analysis.]   All the scans came negative.

So, what should I do now?

Come on in ' tools | Accounts | (electronic mail). Properties | Advanced tab "and make sure the checkbox"Break apart messages Ko upper (xx)"has not become activated accidentally."

  • Index and lines in cluster

Thus, according to Oradoc: create an index if you frequently want to retrieve less than 15% of the rows in a large table. The percentage varies greatly according to the relative speed of a table scan and how data are distributed in what concerns the index key. Faster analysis of the table, the percentage is lower; more grouped data line, the higher the percentage.

    two or three paragraphs down

With regard to the part I bolded ~ say rank clustered tables may be good candidates for indexing for tables/columns that would otherwise not indexed (I have an idea, the grouping is relative to the indexed key. I also know how it effects rebuild an index vs colescing).

Is the instruction above a correct support on my part? I don't need a detailed analysis, I want to know if my assumption is correct as I go even further. I have read a bunch of google links, but this isn't the area on indexing, I want to focus on right now.

    Thank you very much

No. (you said you didn't want a detailed analysis!)

I'm now sure what you mean by "tables line cluster" but done doc refers to a regular job with a regular index table.

And by "more grouped the data in row" doc refers to the factor of grouping of the index which is the index blocks how should be read to find the data you want.

The data in the table can be in a SINGLE command. There will be one or more columns that define the order. This order will put the data with the values for the columns in the same block and ID of these blocks is then more likely to be in the same block index if you create an index on those columns.

This article by eminent expert index Richard Foote comments on factors clusters

    https://richardfoote.WordPress.com/2013/05/08/important-clustering-factor-calculation-improvement-fix-you/

And it explains an interesting new twist available only for the 12 c.

    https://richardfoote.WordPress.com/category/clustering-factor/

There are several percentages thrown around as to when an index "could" be used. This quote from doc mentions 15%, others mention 20% or say things like 'low cardinality' and others.

The reality is that there are other factors involved and you can't really base a decision on a percentage. A grouping factor will be useful for controlling a given and an index on the columns that determine the order of the data. So for a second index (third, etc.) the factor will not help.

And you insert, update and delete data, clustering factor will also change. To influence the clustering factor, you literally sort ALL data, which of course means a full table scan and data transfer.

It might be useful for a small set of use cases involving rare LMD data warehouse tables that are loaded in mass.

    Always test.

  • Windows 8: BSoD random-ing

No idea why, my cell phone 6 months old was blue screen-ing on a random basis.

    System Specs:

    Manufacturer: ASUS
    Model: K55A-HI5014L
    Processor: Intel iCore i5 - 3210M @ 2.50 GHz
Graphics card: Intel HD 4000 (on-board) graphics card
RAM: 8 GB 4 GB enhanced
    OS: Windows 8

RAM chips both (two 4 GB sticks) have been tested on an identical system. Same manufacturer/model/specs. No problems in the same terms. This has happened in the past before adding the second stick of 4 GB, both of which were exchanged for other sticks, tested, replaced the two primary sticks and continued on.

All the drivers are up to date according to the manufacturer.
Intel HD Graphics 4000 (64 MB by default) has been updated with generic drivers of Intel.com.
^ Has been increased from 64 MB of RAM of 512 MB dedicated with the BIOS in stock

BIOS is updated according to the manufacturer.

Laptop is at the top of a computer laptop cooling pad - connected via external power supply - on a constant basis. Once where that is not the key is when I'm away from my office, at a friend's House, or travel.

Devices in use is a Logitech wireless mouse (mini-dongle is not removed unless they be stored in the bag, in which is stored inside the mouse's), Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989 and OEM micro USB cable and wired controller Microsoft Xbox 360 brand. Headphones I use fed current by a free USB port on laptop and has 3.5 mm headphone/mic separate jacks. Tested with USB power and external spare slot. No difference when BSoD that happens.

CPU fan only turns on and begins to "work hard" by playing the games graphics-large. Web browsing, chat on Skype, watch videos (Youtube/Twitch.tv/whatever), the cool rest - same system using do not block cooling - for an extended period of time (5 hours on and off battery voltage)

Power management is set to Power4Gear High Performance while it is plugged into an external source and energy savings of P4G while on battery.

Not really sure what more to say, my laptop suddenly BSOD on not the case. He had moments when I watch videos youtube or casual browsing for hours with Firefox and all of a sudden - BSoD. Several other times I was in the middle of a game (Dead Space 3, Prototype 2, Team Fortress 2, to name a select few) and a Skype call with a friend when all of a sudden - Yes.
↑ Firefox is up to date, and to my knowledge - Flash is also updated. I don't use Internet Explorer, and Chrome.

Temperature wise the bottom of the computer is frozen with the cooling pad and the CPU fan is not in overload.

I even leave my computer in the middle of the night to update Windows as needed with the periodic BSoD - just came out of no where. (Wake up to the beautiful sound of BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR is not exactly a wake-up call that I want to hear before it restarts at 03:45 in the morning). The spirit - I keep my laptop in the middle of the night - sitting at the top of the computer laptop cooling pad - without worrying in case someone needs to put a hand on me through Skype, I can hear the tone in my sleep.

Around the 5th of this month (August), I tried to reformat (not with update of Win8) with ASUS recovery partition, but unfortunately the problem persists, as it happened 8 times during the month. I have 8 available minidumps if requested.

I tried using a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate edition on the same computer through multiple startup in the past and had no problem with BSoD for a full month until I switched to Windows 8.

To my knowledge, Windows 8 is updated to auto-updates, and most of the optional updates is installed without Bing and Bing Desktop toolbar. Alongside this, Malwarebytes reports nothing wrong to a complete and fast analysis.

Probably a little too necessary info, but can get the details worked. Got this laptop in February as a laptop replacement for my previous. Works well. Only stickler is Windows 8 blue screening out not the case.

Not really what else. Would really like to have a response out to reinstall Windows 7, which now seems to be the only other choice.

    Edit:

I forgot to mention: recent BSOD were SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED, as well as one selection of others that I don't remember off the top of my head.

As well as the recent BSoD I have captured, has been a fairly long list of errors in programs (Bing, weather, Photos, Zune Music/Zune video/Xbox Live games, etc.) - programs I don't USE even - with a Kernel-Power (41) (63).

  • Performance tests: bind variables

When you write a SQL for the application, I want to do some performance testing of SQL before providing to JAVA developers. I understand that I need to test using bind variables, can someone guide me how do? What are the best tools out there to achieve? Please provide some guidance. Thank you!

    Rinne says:
I read more about bind variable and I can test the use of bind variables. I understand that testing SQL using bind variables is a closer representation of the real world. Even when queries have large tables, the performance would be similar if I run the query using literals twice (to avoid hard analysis) compared to tests with bind variables? I am trying to understand more thoroughly the need for tests with bind variables. Why we take more time than the other? Thank you!

The main thing is that the opimizer will / can do if bind variables different optimization techniques are used or not.
There are two contradictory effects its regarding the binding settings.

    Effect 1: Reuse of cursor
If the same is done again and again and again. Maybe different sessions. Then using binding settings is essential. Why? Because the same cursor can be reused, which saves a lot of time for analysis. This occurs mainly in OLTP systems. The idea behind this is that to do the same action, just for a different ID (ID in order for example) will result in an identical implementation plan.

The result: Faster analysis time and less consumption of memory, because the same cursor can be resused between different sessions.

    Effect 2: Correct assumptions

According to a filter expression, some using the value of the OBC will make an assumption based on statistical data the number of rows is returned because of this expression and the value.
Speculation between a literal value and a bound value may be different. In many cases exist technical opimization (bind peeking etc.) to the same literal conjecture binded proposal.

But there are exceptions, for example a condition such as the following will result in different estimates

    column between 10 and 20

    column between :P1 and :P2

There are as well other effects.

Result: The CBO can make assumptions better if literals. But most of the cases the proposal is identical.

Conclusion: Literal values are useful if you do large queries where the output size depends strongly on the parameters provided, and where you run that very few of these (OLAP) queries.
Binding settings are usfull when the same execution (OLTP) need a grand plan number of queries.

  • Why my internet slow down to one analysis when it should be faster?

I have 12 mb internet but im only get around 3 mb down load speed... why?

Could be one of many things:

    1. what type of connection do you have?

If the optical fiber, you should get the max of the link more closely, but with ADSL (supplied on a pair of copper wires), it can vary enormously according to the length of the line. For example, I tried "up to 24 M" on a pair of copper, but due to a very long line of the Exchange, I had only actually about 6 M.

So what type of internet connection you have? And if his livery on standard cables, how long your line is?

    2. its possible, it's a malware problem, but if there are no other symptoms, unlikely. However, it doesn't take long to download, install, update (updated by right-clicking on its icon and 'run as administrator' then go to the update tab) and run a scan with Malwarebytes free to check. It don't take long and it's free.

    3. you can do a speedtest here http://www.speedtest.net/ try speedtests running throughout the day at different times (and if possible during the night) for a few days. This verifies that the D/L speed is several times. The other speed probem is the congestion on the internet or your local connection (not yours but your access provider) PSI can also 'Butterfly' test traffic and running in peak and off peak periods should show if it happens. In this case, contact your provider. that is, if during the day 9-11 and 14:00 - 17:00 say you get 3 m, but during the night between 22:30 and 04:30, you get 9 M, then its likely to be congestion.

    4. If you think that your PC is at fault, you can then ask a friend to upgrade their PC around temp connect via your boradband and run a speedtest to see what brings?

You can attach files directly here. Just change the .tdms in .txt extension or add the .txt extension: ZSXD.tdms.txt

By getting rid of the Type of dynamic data (also called the Type of dynamic data wrong (DDT) by some experienced users of LV), you can use the functions of simple data manipulation to get what you want.

The attached VI shows a possibility. I replaced Express file VI close reading of measurement with TDMS Open, Read TDMS and TDMS functions. The Read function returns an array of signals rather than DDT. Your file onlyhas a waveform in the table. Inside the loop, I used Subset.vi of waveform get WDT to select a part of the wave. I replaced the Express VI spectral measures (and more DDT with .vi FFT (Mag Phase) spectrum) and the Express VI of statistics with RMS.vi and a few primitive. The structure of the event causes the while loop to go only when you change the index controls or press the Stop button. The timeout shift register allows the loop run only once at startup and after that only when a control is changed. Your original progam turns the loop as fast it can read the file, if something has changed or not.

  • HP 8500 has more scan not scan - I hear a fast spin and the book will not draw in the charger

HP 8500 has more scan not scan - I hear a fast spin and the book will not draw in the charger. I tried a reboot, including disconnect the motor from the power analysis. A software update was just pushed through today as well, but the problem with the scanner was before this update. This update took place after the power has been turned off, then on again.

The problem occurred this morning during a prior scan + back. I heard a click or pop/fast spin, something that indicates something was wrong, when he tried to feed on the 1st backsheet through for the scan of the back. Now, it won't take what anyone, even to make a copy using the feeder.

When I look at the roll holder bar above paper, I noticed that it does not drop down to make contact with the paper he move to the scanner itself. I remember having this problem once before - there are 2 years, while the warranty was still in effect and does not remember how it was resolved.

Any suggestions would be welcome. I don't want to buy another printer just to get the scanner to feed again. The printer itself is fine and scan from the bed is not affected.

For anyone interested, I sloved the problem of roller scanner do not push the paper into the ADF.

I turned off the printer last night. Today, I removed the power cable at the back of the printer and then unplugged the power cord from the wall. It was off for about 30 minutes. I reconnect the cable to the printer and the wall, the printer running and waited about 10 minutes. So tired the charger scanner again. It worked and I don't know why.

Yesterday, I tried a version of what I found in the documentation for HP support. He said to do, but not to turn the printer off first. He has not worked for me.

I don't know if my path has really had no effect on the results, but it works now and I don't have to think about buying a new printer for awhile yet. I like this idea!
