Issues of Bridge CS5 XMP / Camera Raw

I was using a bridge normally to browse photos / pdf for ect. Suddenly, almost 'out of the blue', he stopped to store any settings and the changes I made to the photos.

For example: I open the bridge, double click on photos (RAW format), camera raw opens and then I make a few alterations. Click on 'done '. Camera raw closes. Normally an excerpt of this photo has been updated and the settings stored in the XMP file. Now, all this simply does not work: I can make any adjustments, but when I click on "done" it closes the Camera raw without saving the changes. Purge the cache does not work. It does not open the file directly from Photoshop. I checked the permission to access the file individual and photo and they are ok. Does anyone have the same problem?  Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Try resetting Bridge preferences.  Bridge to close then restart bridge and immediately press Ctrl + Alt + shift until reset it the settings dialog box is displayed, then select Reset preferences.

When you open archives diferent to the trial in Camera Raw, always miss some of them. You can open all archives or one of them individually. But if you open 4 archives, Camera Raw only get 3.

Or if you open 6, camera raw doesn't get 5 or 4. A few times, after cancelled operations, opens automatically archive missed.

The problem persists, exactly in the other computer.

What can I do about it?

    Hi mbaye,

Please try and update the Photoshop CS5 for the last update.

Reference: Adobe - Photoshop: for Macintosh: Adobe Photoshop 12.0.4 updated for Adobe Photoshop CS5

If the solution above does not work, then uninstall the Photoshop CS5

    Restart the Mac.

Install it again using the link: Download CS5 products

    And then try it.

Let us know if it helps.

  • Cannot open the Canon 650 d Raw files in PS CS5 [was: Camera Raw]

    Hello world

I tried to download my raw CR2 files to my photoshop cs5, but keep saying

"Could not complete your request because the file appears to be a model of camera that is not taken in charge by the installed version of camera raw."

My camera model is Canon 650 d which is supported and I downloaded the latest raw update but whenever I go to help > all Plug-ins

It keep saying that my version is 6.3.0.79

The 650 d requires that Camera Raw 7.1 or later version.

    http://helpx.Adobe.com/Creative-Suite/KB/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

CS5 is only compatible with Camera Raw up to version 6.7. So cannot open files 650 d Raw in CS5.

    http://helpx.Adobe.com/x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html

So you must upgrade to CS6 or CC or convert your DNG Raw files using the Adobe's DNG Converter for free. Then open and edit DNG files in CS5.

  • PS CS5 for Camera Raw updates

Hello, this forum is new to me but I have been using CS 5 PS for a few years now.  My problem is that I had to buy a new computer, an iMac I come, but after the installation successfully my CS5 software, it is now telling me that it can't open the raw files.  As a photographer, you know all how extremely important it is to work in RAW.  I tried an update for it with no luck, can anyone point me in the right direction for an update to cs5 for gross photoshop?

I should probably mention that I'm shooting with a Canon 5 d mark II and III

Any help would be really appreciated.  Thank you very much! ~ Lisa

You must disable Gatekeeper because CS5 updates are released before that date and have never signed. Therefore, you will get the error of file "damaged."

Temporarily, set it to 'Everywhere' and try again.

Canon 6 d id NOT taken in charge by ACR 6.7.1. He was supported for the first time in ACR 7.3 requiring CS6 to run.

Therefore, you will never be able to open the 6 d directly CR2 raw files in CS5.

If you don't plan on upgrading, you can download the Adobe DNG Converter 8.3 free and autonomous (always use the latest version, it is not related to your version of Photoshop in all), install it like any other application, then run it on each batch of CR2 files to convert them into files DNG raw that you can then open in your version of Photoshop and ACR.

  • How cn install camera raw on my computer.  I have CS5 but no separate camera raw application? Thank you

How can I install camera raw on my computer.  I have CS5 but no separate camera raw application? Thank you

Camera Raw is not a separate application that can be identified and used separately from Photosho. It's a plug-in which is available from Photoshop or Bridge or Photoshop Elements. When you try to open an image raw plug-in is enabled if it is able to recognize the files created by the camera used. However, support should be provided for each individual camera model. Updates must be equipped with this new medium. The latest version of Camera Raw that can be used with Photoshop CS5's Camera Raw 6.7. You can find what version of Camera Raw in the Photoshop Help menu, and then click plug - ins-> Camera Raw. If the specified version is earlier to 6.7, then you can click on help-> updates and get an installation of the latest version of Camera Raw, you can use. If your device is newer than what was supported in Camera Raw 6.7, then you must use the DNG Converter or buy Photoshop CS6, or to subscribe to the plan of creative photography cloud ($ 9.99 / month).

  • Cannot open files in Camera Raw in Bridge CS6

    30/05/2014

Believe that this problem happened after automatic update to Adobe (but not sure).

Always transferred files from camera in the bridge, then make some changes by opening JPEG and RAW (NEF) files in Camera Raw in bridge.

Now, "open in Camera Raw" is grayed out and I can't find a way to open files with Camera Raw inside Bridge CS6.  This seemed to happen suddenly and without new software or applications added to the computer.  All the other apps/software works well.

Have you tried various bugs found on Adobe community discussions without success.  Now ongoing problem for more than a week +.

Am able to open files in Photoshop without problem, but want to be able to make some quick changes using Camera Raw, open files from Bridge CS6.

I use Bridge CS6 Version 5.0.2.4.  (as part of Adobe Creative Suite 6).  Update says I have the latest version of the bridge.

I use an iMac with Intel Core i7 processor computer

    OS X 10.8.5

Found others with this same or very similar problems on the forums but it either can't understand access plan/patches or impossibility of complete instructions on my computer.

See for example: Camera RAW update the question with Bridge CS6

Since this link/discussion, we find this "solution":

Updated Camera Raw 8.4, Bridge CS6 Mac OS is not display the image metadata, or allow you to edit images in Camera Raw.

Manually install the camera Raw plugin 8.4.

    1. Exit Adobe Bridge.
    2. Download the file below.
    3. Find and double-click on the downloaded file to unzip it. The resulting file is camera Raw.plugin.
    4. Navigate to the folder Macintosh HD.
    5. Open the folder/Library/Application Support / Adobe / Plug - Ins / CS6 / File Formats.
IMPORTANT: Navigate to the folder root of the library on your hard drive, not the library folder in your user folder.
    6. Copy the step 3 Camera Raw.plugin file Formats folder.
IMPORTANT: This new file overwrites the file already in this folder. It is important that a single camera Raw.plugin file located in this folder.
    7. Open Adobe Bridge.

    *Camera Raw.plugin.zip
Mac OS Camera Raw plugin 8.4 for a manual installation

However, when I try the above, I have these questions:

    1. when I double click on the downloaded file, my computer opens PhotoShop and an error message is displayed, that States "could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this file type."  (I think this may mean my computer is automatically unzipped the file, but I'm not sure about that).

2 not quite sure I don't know how 'navigate to the folder Macintosh HD' suggested in step 4 above (OK, I'm new on Mac; since a long time PC user...)

    3. when I am in the 'Finder' and click on 'GO' while holding down the button 'Option', I find "library".  in this context, I find ' / Library/Application Support/Adobe ", but there is no 'Plugins' folder in the subfolder"Adobe ".

4 don't know how if I'm in the 'library root' on my drive hard vs 'library under my user folder '.  (New, new Mac...)

I have NOT yet tried to make a "Uninstall" and then re - install Adobe Creative Suite 6 together and I would like to avoid that if possible.

Absolutely would LOVE it if Adobe would simply push an update that should fix this problem or if someone could explain to me how I could restore the previous version that worked perfectly for me.

Any help, suggestions (in very basic, simple terms that any fool again in the world of Macintosh can understand) would be appreciated.  Very frustrated with Adobe at the moment.

Especially like the switch to Mac, but with this and my picture to come to a sudden stop workflow, have doubts.  (But I guess that the update of Adobe for PC can cause problems as well).

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

    30/05/2014

Literally minutes after I posted the above, I thought that this myself and now I'm a happy camper and things are back to normal!

Here's my question/error: as a new Mac user, I was not negotiating/find files on my hard drive correctly.

In case there are others out there with this same question (and I'm apparently dense):

Here's what I did which resulted in a correction:

    First steps:

    1 exit/close bridge

    2. as stated in the post above, go to this link to download the Camera Raw Plugin file:

Issue update to Camera RAW with Bridge CS6

Link to download is towards the end of the instructions, but I try to insert this link for download here:

    Camera Raw.plugin.zip

    3. once the file has been downloaded, find her using "Finder" click "Finder" and look on the options list on the left side of the Finder window to find "downloads".  On my computer, clicking on "Finder" these options appear in the list on the left:

    All my files

    Air drop

    Applications

    Desktop

    Documents

    Downloads

    Movies

    Music

    Photos

    4. download you just made should be at or near the top of your download list should be designated as 'Camera Raw.plugin' and will be 83.5 MB size

    5. I clicked (two fingers on the touchpad) to bring up the drop-down options menu and choose 'Copy 'Caméra Raw.plugin' ' this list to copy the file.

Now, you copied the plug that will correct this problem.  The second set of steps below will guide you through how to replace the file that is located on your hard drive with this record in the file you copied.

Second series of measures (and this is where, as a new Mac user, I was confused at the beginning)

    1. even once, click 'Finder' on your Mac.

    2. the top of the screen, find 'GO' and click on it.  ("File, edit, view, GO, window, help", you should see "Finder" in the upper right corner of your screen, then click on the THUMB)

    3. in the drop-down menu that appears, click on 'computer '.

    4. then double-click on "Macintosh HD" to open your hard drive

    5. then double-click on the "Library" folder to open that.

    6. then, click on "Application Support" folder to open that.

    7. then, double-click the "Adobe" folder to open that.

    8. then, double-click on the "Plug-Ins" folder to open that

    9. now double click on "CS6" to open this folder.

    10. Finally, double-click on the "File Formats" folder that appears.

    11. NOW you should see this:

    12. click right (two finger press if you use a Tablet) to open the options window.  Select 'paste' by clicking on this option.

    13. you will be prompted with an option to keep existing file replace GOLD file.  Choose "Replace" according to the new "Caméra Raw.plugin" file in this folder.

Finally, if you now go back and open Bridge CS6, you should be good to go.

Hope this helps someone out there.

I hope that future updates to Adobe will be better.

  • I have Photoshop CC 2015, how do I install Adobe Camera Raw & Bridge?

Our IT support tried to download creative cloud but everything is labeled 'Trial' and it is a licensed copy of Photoshop.  Bridge has been uninstalled when this computer has been updated since Photoshop CS6.  Y at - it a separate installation of the bridge and Adobe Camera Raw?  If not, is there a full version of creative Cloud available to be installed with Photoshop CC 2015?  Thank you.

    Hi Jim-Wy,

You can download Photoshop CC2015 from this link: Photo editing software | Download the free trial version Photoshop CC

It would download setup of creative cloud you need to run and he would start the installation of Photoshop.

Bridge CC can be used in another application that can be installed via creative cloud app itself.

Camera Raw is a Photoshop plugin that could settle with the installation of Photoshop.

  • Settings in Bridge CS6 camera raw does not

I'm editing photos in Adobe Bridge CS6 using Camera Raw settings.  It was great to work in a first time.  But now, whenever I open a photo in Camera Raw window, he has some sort of effect on it.  Photography has red spots in many areas.  The Red patches are not permanent, but it makes it very difficult to see the photograph well enough to change it.  I tried "Clear settings" and "Camera Raw Defaults" under "Settings of development."  And I have purged the cache in Camera Raw preferences.  I also tried update bridge under the 'Help' menu, but no update is available.  So boring.  Can someone help me leave "see red"?

Odd. I saw that as CS6 had the GPU acceleration before it was abandoned. HM.

I just went full DPEP in my previous posts. Laughing out loud

When you were talking about red spots, it is salient facts clipping (and shadows, as appropriate) underway. Click on the top corners of the color histogram to disable them.

O keyboard shortcut (that's an O as October) active / disables cutting highlight; U activates / deactivates the shadow clipping.

  • What is the last camera raw update for CS5?

I would like to know the last camera raw update for CS5 support a6000 Sony raw files. I also need to know how to upgrade the plugin.

The latest version of Camera Raw that you can use with Photoshop CS5's Camera Raw 6.7. To get support for your camera, you need Camera Raw 8.4 or newer. You have several choices:

1 use DNG converter 8.4 or newer to create DNG copies of your raw files and modify those in Photoshop CS5.

2 subscribe to the plan of photography creative cloud and to get the latest Photoshop and Lightroom.

    3. Add Lightroom to your workflow by buying a stand-alone license for Lightroom 5.
