It's the patch tool

I select the patch tool, Yes, the one that looks like a patch. I make a selection in the area I want to fix it. I make sure source is selected in the options bar. I, place the pointer in the selection, and then drag the selected area on the border of the area where I want to taste. Nothing happens. If I drag

the selection COMPLETELY to the area where I want to try to, the patch shows well enough in the area to be repaired. This as long as I keep my keypad button. Because I have it, the patch goes away and the field goes back to its original look, (which needs to be fixed).

I used the tool quite successfully a few months ago so of course I forget something, what?

CS3 Mac 10.5.8

If you are working on the background layer, while having another open above the background layer you will get this result. Make sure that you are working on the correct layer.

I hope this helps.

  • Where is the patch tool?

I'm clicking on the spot Healing Brush tool, there seems to be a small arrow angle but is not spread out to show me the features of the patch tool. I'm looking for the bar and clicked on the healing brush icon then unchecked the box of current tool and he raised some points but no patch tool.  I bought the plan creative photography of cloud Student and Teacher Edition (one year), I figured I'd get some of the basics.  Patch tool is not in this basic plan?  Please let me know.  If she is not how to level to get these items as patch tool?

  • How can I remove the info bubble can appear when you use the patch tool?

Removing the unwanted parts of an image or repairing older images, the tool most used by me is the patch tool. When I select a patch and move a bubble with measures to know how far I moved this patch appears and seems to ALWAYS be in the way. Some areas to repair are extremely magified and can make or break a natural looking image or not. Darn measure bubble seems to be placed in the possible location of the worst for the exact location of small elements. How can I activate this info bubble from popping up as I'm not why she's still here?

You can disable it in Photoshop (Edit) > Preferences > Interface by setting the values of Transformation Show Never

  • Cannot locate the patch tool. Please advice.

    Hello

I just installed Photoshop CS6 extended version and I can't find the tool room inside. I can't find Lasso tool but can not find the patch tool in the tools list.

    Kindly help.

    Thank you

Hello and welcome to the Adobe Forums.

The Patch tool is bundled with the corrector. Click and hold on the icon of the Healing Brush tool, you will see a menu of bundled tools. The Patch tool is here.

You can also use Adobe Help to look for features of the basic tool.

  • Selection is not so after using the patch tool

When you use the patch tool, I make the selection, choose my area so he can patch any and it patches fine.

BUT the area that I chose to be patched is still remain selected with mobile dotted around it and I have to CTRL + D to deselect before I can patch another area.

Thought that it is unchecked on old machine and it drives me crazy trying to touch up some jobs where the patch tool Gets a real workout...

    Spin CS5 (12.1x64) on a new Windows 7 64 bit machine, using a Wacon Intuos 4 w/latest driver.

Any help is very much appreciated - thank you!

ETA: I just checked on our laptop (XP) running 32-bit CS5 and the patch tool worked as I remembered - after connecting, the region is been selected until I hit the left button of the mouse and selected a different area of patch.

Look at the tool options bar, you probably want to have new selection enabled.

  • Can I create an action that includes a shortcut for the patch tool?

I am trying to create an action that includes a shortcut for the tool room.  I changed the patch (now R) tool shortcut to be different from the correct place (J), it works fine on the keyboard, but it will not record in action. Is there a way to include this point in the action?

Something do not have in stock, and there is no menu item for the function you want to save.  The easiest way around your problem is to create a tool preset for the tool part then record by selecting this predefined in your action patch toll to pass to the tool room.

  • I'm having a problem with the patch in PS:CC tool

Please see this video, as it will demonstrate the problem more clearly than anything I could say.

    http://www.screencast.com/t/bVkNkapww

When you use the patch tool, I select an area, then click on and drag to an area that I want to replace this content selected with. This replacement must be a direct replacement of 1:1 (WYSIWYG). However, when I release the mouse button, rather than fill the selection area with exactly what I've been, I get - good - stuff. Sometimes, it seems that it running a blur instead of a patch. Sometimes it appears like he is trying to patch, but pulling in the area. There is almost always a blur involved effect.

I tried to ask on some forums and people stop me changing my brush settings, but the patch is a selection tool, not a Brush tool. There is no brush setting to change.

I don't see any pen options, which could partially explain what I see. It looks like a setting high feather is enabled.

I tried to reset the tool room, as well as all the tools and even deleted the entire PS config file (ugh, that sucked) but the problem persists.

Any thoughts on what is causing this problem and how to fix it?

Again, please see the video because it will clear up almost any question what the problem actually looks like.

For the sake of clarity and to save people time, Todd wonders about the behavior of the hotfix when using it to repair the area next to the young boy the tool head.  Todd gets a fuzzy dark tone well enough regardless of the options he uses.

IMO that is what I expect to happen due to the proximity of the other image that is the boy's neck and the lines of force of his shirt.  I would not choose to use the patch tool in this situation.  Content Aware Fill allows a better dagger shot it.

  • Problem with the CS5 patch tool

Hi, I have this problem that is boring with the patch tool that every time I use it, for example, drag the selected area to a new location, that it sticks to the selected area as if it was stained, such as feathers, and I almost can't use it. I checked the selection and is not ragged, but still, the selection being pasted is stained. All the settings that I don't know?

    Thank you.

To meet this criterion, you describe the function of the Clone Stamp tool.

  • Healing Brush and Patch tool

Can someone please teach me how to use the healing brush and the patch tool? I didn't get the video!

    Hello
If you are struggling with the video - it might be useful in providing a link and by showing how you are getting lost.

Reading in the meantime, this might help: retouching and repair photos

Also some examples of a recent wedding:

In the first, I used the Healing Brush tool spot, value "Content Aware" to paint on a sheet at the foot clamps in a wedding photography. It was literally just paint on leave and then releasing the mouse button (or a pen) and Photoshop filled in the region.

The second was an area with the pattern and the spot Healing Brush tool could not match the pattern exactly

I chose the region of the offending piece of the grass, the patch the Source value tool, and then drag the selection to another box patch until the model matched. When you release the mouse, Photoshop has mixed model

The third was the abolishment of a from offending lamp from a background.

In this case, I used the Healing Brush tool.

I selected the source (i.e., what part of the image to paint with) whenever by holding down the ALT key while clicking on and then painted on the station. By choosing a variety of sources in different parts of the background, I have avoided the repetition of pattern tree.

    I hope this helps you

  • Feature patch tool

Can't seem to get the patch tool to work as described in a tutorial. When I drag the selected area to overlay on the area I want to patch and release the mouse button, nothing happens, i.e. no patch. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

As suggested indirectly, try the Healing Brush tool (note: not the Spot Healing Brush).

Choose the source of the layer that you want to retrieve the news of (or use the option sample all layers), then choose the layer on which you want to copy the info in and use the corrector.
