ITunes is not installed

Whenever I try to install itunes no matter what I I get the error message "Setup errors met before itunes could be configured.» Errors occurred during the installation of your system has not been modified. Please rerun the installation program, or click Finish to exit. "I called apple and nobody seems to be able to help me. I talked to a few technicians. One of them had me create a new user account and try to install itunes on this account, it did not work I got the same error message. Then, another technician had me try to do it in safe mode and run as administrator. I got a message saying something to the effect "this action cannot be performed in safe mode please try to complete the action when the system is not in safe mode or restore your computer to a previous state of good" two technicians told me he did not sound like a problem with itunes, but with the computer itself and the last technician advised me to talk to microsoft so I'm posting this question. Can anyone help? It would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

Shay

There are various different problems which give rise to similar messages.  Here are a few things that can help.  If you get any errors along the way, please register completely for display in case you can not install it to succeed.

Re-download the package iTunes, but before that in this case, temporarily disable your antivirus (if you download directly from Apple, the file will be safe).

Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK) and type the 2 following lines, pressing ENTER after each line

    msiexec/regserver

Close the command prompt window and see if the installation works.

  • ITunes will not install.

When I try and install ITunes I get a message saying a program in the windows package install could not executed.

I tried all the suggestions in the nets, but nothing works.

    You have any other suggestions?

    Thank you.

    Phil

If you really tried "suggestions", I have nothing more to add.

But you might want to take a look at the following:

To perform a "clean" iTunes installation uses this technique proposed, from Support of Apple HT1926 article.

Warning: uninstall utility for cleaning Windows mentioned in the instructions below has been removed from Microsoft download servers because sometimes it seems more removed he was supposed to (I think that this phenomenon was linked to the bureau uninstalls).  You can still get utility Windows Installer Cleanup--> http://majorgeeks.com/Windows_Installer_CleanUp_Utility_d4459.html here is a free alternative Revo Uninstaller. Before using these cleaning products, you must create a restore point from the system first (or back up the registry with C:\WINDOWS\ERUNT).  See http://windowsxp.mvps.org/registry.htm a complete disk image would be safer if you have this ability.

Go to control panel > Add/Remove programs
    Remove these applications:
    1 Apple Software Update
    2. Apple Mobile Device Support
    3 Hello
4 iPod for Windows (this may or may not exist, be it, it is not necessary, then we can remove it)
    5 iTunes
    6 QuickTime

Open my computer > C: > Program Files
    Delete this files (if present)
    1 iPod
    2 iTunes
    3 QuickTime

    Empty your temp directory:
Open my computer > C: > Documents & Settings > username > Local Settings and delete the contents of the folder called "Temp".

If you don't see the local settings, enable hidden files:
Tools > Folder Options > view tab
Select Show Hidden Files & folder, and then click OK

Once this file is empty, restart the computer

Download & install the Windows Installer Cleanup utility:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/290301/
Launch the utility: start > programs > Windows Installer Clean Up
Select one of the applications mentioned above and click on remove

    Restart the computer
Download & reinstall iTunes from here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

  • iTunes will not install on Windows Vista

I couldn't get Itunes to upgrade to the 9.0.3 version which is on the site of Apple - and which is compatible with my iPod and iPhone.  I went through all the troubleshooting tips website from Apple and even they contacted 4 times.  Nothing seemed to work.  It is now uninstalled from my computer (with Quicktime).  I downloaded the latest version on my desk (actually about 5 times!), but when I click on it an error message comes up saying: open file security warning.  The Publisher could not be verified.  The file doesn't have a valid digital signature that verifies its publisher.  Are you sure you want to run this software?

When I click "Run", nothing happens.  I tried to run it as an administrator, and the same thing happens.

    I would appreciate help!

    Hi TFloor,

I suggest you try the following steps:

Step 1: Turn off User Account Control and then try to install ITunes.

    1. open user accounts by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking user accounts and family safety, then clicking on user accounts.

    2. click on Turn User Account Control on or off.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

3 uncheck use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer to turn off UAC, and then click OK.

Note: It is not recommended to turn off UAC, we just try to limit the problem, please turn on UAC after installing iTunes on the computer. See the link below for the procedure:

Enable or disable the User Account Control

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-user-account-control-on-or-off

    If the problem persists,

  • iTunes will not install in Windows 7

iTunes goes without installation under Windows 7

    Dear Marilyn:

Apple article you mention has not worked for me.  What works was initially open an additional account on my Windows 7 computer, different from the single user account (with administrator privileges).  Also the new account has administrator rights and iTunes + QuickTime installed smoothly.

Reasoning that Windows 7 was installed an update on Windows Vista, which in turn has also installed an upgrade on Windows XP, it was decided that the original user account and possibly Windows 7 have been somewhat corrupted, a new installation was completed and new iTunes + QuickTime installed smoothly, which confirmed my suspicions.

This clean reinstall was pretty easy for me because my documents and data are stored on a separate hard drive and Windows 7 and MS Office 2007 as well as a few other programs were to be installed again.  This policy of mine dating back a dozen years ago saved my data in last May when Norton Antivirus could not stop a virus that filled the unwanted operations (C:\) disc, making it unusable, but could not touch disk D:\ and E:\ where I keep the documents and the videos of music/respectively.  I now use Kaspersky Antivirus, which stopped a malware that Norton had missed and contaminated by the new C:\ drive I had to buy and install.

    Thanks for your concern,

    Manfor

  • ITUNES WAS NOT INSTALLED PROPERLY, PLEASE REINSTALL ITUNES ERROR 7 WINDOWS ERROR 127

Help. I SEE A TON OF POSTS ON HOW TO FIX ARTICLES SIMILAR TO THIS, BUT I AM SCARED OF HAVING TO GO TO THE NEXT STEP. I DON'T KNOW WHAT RELATES TO ME AND I NEED MY MUSIC, OR I'LL TURN INTO A FAT RECLINER/COUCH POTATO AND NEVER WORKED AGAIN.

When I click on ITunes now I get everything first:

The procedure entry point CMTmeRangeMakeFromDictionary could not be found in the CoreMedia.dll dynamic link library

Then I get the error to reinstall Windows 7 error 127

Like many others, I tried to update my Itunes, after 10 years (if it's not broken don't fix, * it)

In my programs, I now have APPLE APPLICATION SUPPORT 32 BIT AND APPLE APPLICATION SUPPORT 64-BIT. OR FIX IT. I GET THE FATAL ERROR MESSAGE WHEN I TRY.

Should what step I do now? I read a lot of posts where people spend 4 hours uninstalling in a certain order and it did not work.

Please someone help me with a current solution, many that I see are really old.

    Thank you

    Martina

These errors can usually be fixed by removing the offending dll, then fix the component it is programs and features Control Panel. CoreMedia.dll belongs to Apple Application Support and are normally in

    C:\Program Files\Fichiers Files\Apple\Apple Application Support or

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support.

For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review other cases and a list of documents to support further down the page, in which case one of them applies.

More information area has direct links with the current and recent buildings if you have problems to download, must revert to an older version or want to try the version of iTunes for Windows (64-bit-for old video cards) as a workaround for problems with installation or operation, or compatibility with QuickTime software or a third party.

Your library must be affected by these measures but there are also links to the backup and recovery advice it should be necessary.
