  I am a newbie with iMovie 10.1.2. In the middle of the picture below, what is this red arrow and the small icon (maybe an icon for a clip?)? I have no idea how it got there, its uses, its meaning or how to get rid of. (Small stays icon where you see, with the red arrow as if it is attached to the arrow). The red arrow behaves more or less like a slider. If I move it to the playback head, he likes with the playhead. Unless the reading head is in the gap between the clips.   It's the slider you see when pressing the R key to select a range in a clip. The arrow is red until you move it over a clip and then change to black. It should move with the skimmer. You see this continuously even when not having not touch R? If the restart if iMovie should erase.

  I think it's maybe a browser message. Click the icon of your message, click the menu button. Select the display folder and then click browser messages. I hope this helps.

  I bet that's exactly what it is, I see the< symbol="">

  I just put my calls forward and symbol appears on my home screen, as well.

  Press your green dial key to enter the call log > Menu > Options > Call Forwarding and do not forward and this symbol will disappear.

  But plesae not that change your call forwarding may affect your voicemail settings, so do it with caution.

  On my computer, there are a number of icons in folder with a square in the left corner and inside room is a blue arrow pointing upwards to the right.  Although I can remove access is denied to those folders.
  I created a network to move files from my old computer to this one so that they can have something to do.

  What part of "leave alone" was unclear? ;-) Seriously, just leave them alone! You can hide them by checking the option hide hidden files in Control Panel > Folder Options. Even though I like to show hidden files in Windows XP, I hide in Vista (unless I'm troubleshooting) because otherwise things seem to be so messy. You can do the same thing. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!
