just installed Firefox V8; It is supposed to be a bookmarks button, but I did not!

I have the front/back arrows, area URL, a search box Google, the Adblock plus button and the home button. And nothing more... Where is the favorite button announced? Or how can I create it myself?

    Windows XP SP3 problem

Recently, I met a problem with my PC and was forced to use the system recovery. Now I'm back to factory settings and try to install Windows XP Service Pack 3 on my computer. Windows Update won't work for me, that whenever I try to update I get [error number: 0x8024400A]. I think it's because I use Service Pack 2, or that's what I concluded after researching the problem, anyway.

This is not my real concern, however. Because I could not get the update automatically, I tried to download and install the "Windows XP Service Pack 3 Network Installation Package for IT professionals and developers" myself. The first time I did it, I restarted the PC after the installation and was met with "We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this. "  I went into safe mode and went to a just system restore point before SP3 was installed, but now I don't know how to install it correctly without encountering this problem after reboot. I'm hardly the easy just stick with SP2 when there are potentially important available updates. How can I get Windows Service Pack 3 is installed on my PC?

    It's certainly interesting!

If the cause of your problem is to have a HP PC with an AMD processor and an original image on your hard drive (and of course it sounds like this is the case), the solution should be to rename the file intelppm.sys and launch the sp37394.exe patch. Once done, the SP3 file that you downloaded from here:
    SHOULD work!
I'm puzzled why there is no intelppm.sys file in your directory C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers.
Since you recently returned to square one with your PC ("return to factory settings"), then you may as well run the patch from this page:
and try the SP3 Setup file again.
But, first, let's be absolutely sure that we are both using the same terminology. Please answer the following questions:
    1. have you safely backed up ALL your data?
    2. what method did you use to ride "back to factory settings? I think that your choices have been a destructive restore (full) and a (partial) non-destructive recovery. The first erases the disk and leave you with a pristine image and NOTHING ELSE (which means that all of your programs and data get deleted). The other (which does not always correctly) is supposed to leave programs and data intact.
  • Just installed firefox. connected to one of my accounts, g-mail, but cannot connect to a 2nd. Message: "cookies not enabled", but they are. What now?

I just installed firefox. I was able to access my major account google mail, but when I try to access my second and third google email account, I get a message "not cookies are enabled". I checked and cookies are enabled, but I still get the same message. I'm not tech savvy and don't really know what to do now. I need to access my e-mail, so it is a major obstacle. I love Mozilla and really want to go back to IE. I've done everything that has been proposed, but the message persists. Not found an answer fairly simple in the forums. Please help.

Maybe your Google cookies have become confused or corrupted. It would be interesting to compensation in order to see if that helps. Here's how:

Everything a page on google.com (can be find, does not need to be Gmail), try either:

    • Right click and select View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies".
    • (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > 'view the Cookies '.
    • Click on the globe or padlock icon in the address bar > additional information > "View Cookies".

In the dialog box that opens, google.com should be filled up. You can delete all the cookies for the site individually here.

Then try to reload the page and sign in again. Who help me?

  • What should I do with the square firefox orange now that I just installed firefox on the desktop?

I just installed Firefox because I had trouble with my Safari browser and Fixfox has been recommended. I have an apple computer, it's a macbook pro. I downloaded the app and it put in the application and put the fox icon and the world down on the dock on my screen. I just discovered a square orange button that looks like an external drive that is located on the right side of my desktop. I don't know what to do with the orange button and I don't see any information in this respect. Thanks a lot for your help. I look forward to all the cool things I read on the use of this product.

If this icon shows once again then make sure you install Firefox properly and once done, drag the Firefox icon to the trash.

Thank you all for your kind contributions, thoughts, questions and answers!

Regarding the tab move the question, which itself resolved after a few reboots, with no further action taken by me. Thank God!

nameany2 is correct; most people know many things to try.

But every once in a while an obscure answer will appear on this forum that I would not have thought, thank you all.

I think it is Adobe Flash which crashes my browser. I don't have no tendency to grow by opening several tabs. (Flash is notorious, and I get tired of 'update', more of what updates are marketing ploys.) This thread is not about this, but I hope it's useful to others with this problem.

Good work, everyone. I appreciate the work you put in!

  • I just installed Firefox 6, and the report does more - the same problem you had with Firefox 5. What is going on?

You prompted me to install Firefox 6 tonight, because it addresses serious security/stability problems, but when I did this, the report icon has disappeared from the address bar. Reinstall the latest version of the report was corrected not it.
It's the same thing with Firefox 5 a few months ago, and it has taken report per week to develop a new compatible version.
Why this happened again? You not check this before launching new versions? Or, why at all not least we warn in advance that some programs will not work for X days? I prefer to be without the latest Firefox for a week or two, and no report - not least because that my Bank, I have to use the report.

Please advise as soon as POSSIBLE.

  • I just installed DW 13.2.  Linked files (all CSS, scripts...) "are not on the local disk" - all works in CS6. Help..?

I just installed DW 13.2.  Linked files (all CSS, scripts...) "are not on the local disk" - all works in CS6. Help...

When I insert one of the page of the Web site, it shows in the design window.  But when I try to bring any document linked in the left window, code, it is empty and the message says: "whatever.css is not on the local drive.  Also, when I click on LIVE, the file looks like she does not see the file CSS, no images.

The same site looks and works OK in the DW CS6.

    I'm on Maverick - 2012 Mac Pro - 2 x 2.66 12-core, 64 GB of RAM.

I configured the same way as CS6 preferences.  Same location of the site, same links.

Am I missing something?  What should I do?  I uninstalled the DW CC, cleaned pref and installed it again.  Same question.

    Help, please.

I think, I solved the problem, but I still think that the Dreamweaver does not recognize the addresses.

I then drive CC_A BB_A Web sites (these are the actual names of the readers).  It's always the disk 'data', apart from the OS, but with a different name.  everything works.  Opening files referred to in the script window, 'live' works as supposed.

I can only speculate that readers 'CC_A' name has confused the program called CC.

I can find no other explanation, since, in addition to the name of the drive - everything else is the same.

    Thanks for trying to help.

    Hello Tallydupp, welcome.

Do you by chance have Google Desktop? Some users have reported interference problems in Winodws 7 while using an older version of Google Desktop.
Try to uninstall it if it exists.

  • I really hate this version 23.0 requires me to have the band to tabs. I want to remove it. I tried to install version 22 of the archive, but it did not work.

I rarely use tabs; When I work, I prefer individual browser windows. For a single window without tabs, tabs band is clutter and space wasted. Previous versions of FF has allowed me to remove the tape to tabs in the options. Now on v.23 I can't. How very, very boring.

I tried to install the previous version, v.22, from the archives, but it did not work. I would be grateful a way to remove the band to tabs in v.23, or further instructions for down to v.22

    Thank you.

The following may not be the only or most effective way to get the view you want, but that's what I saw recommended so far.

You can ban the entire tab bar, or when only several tabs are open, by using a setting in the Tab Mix Plus extension.

  • I gave permission to import bookmarks from safari, but they did not. Firefox file poster not import.

I just downloaded firefox on my mac. I dragged in applications, and then on the desktop. It opens, he asked if I wanted to import bookmarks from safari, yes ticked.
But he did not and audit assistance told to use the file - import from firefox, but the file does not import indicated in the diagram above
How can I get my hundreds of bookmarks please?

    This can help you.

    Export bookmarks from Safari

Go to file-> export bookmarks. Safari stores bookmarks in a HTML file. Save the HTML file on the desktop or any other location of your choice.

    Import bookmarks into Firefox

Go to bookmarks-> show all bookmarks. This will open the bookmarks library.

    Click on import and backup...

Select Import bookmarks into HTML... of the menu drop down.

Locate your exported HTML file from Safari.

You can use Safari bookmark exporter to export bookmarks to a simple HTML file when exporting to a file HTML is not supported by Safari.

  • How can I place a STOP button on my toolbar. I would like to stop firefox from loading a page by pressing the STOP button, but I can't find it in the toolbar options.

How can I place a STOP button on my toolbar. I would like to stop firefox from loading a page by pressing the STOP button, but I can't find it in the toolbar options.

First of all, if you have the menu bar show. (File-Edit-View-History-Bookmarks-Tools-Help), then you won't see the orange FireFox button because in the new version of FireFox button replaces the menu bar. You can believe that's the way you want by clicking on 'View', then place your cursor over "Toolbars" and check or uncheck menu bar. If you have the display on menu bar, click on 'View' then drag down to "Toolbars", then descend to the right and go to 'customize '; a click on it. Then, when the next screen appears, even if 'Reload' is not displayed on this topic, it appears somewhere upwards in your toolbar. (Mine was above the Google search box). Put your cursor on it and drag-and - drop to the left of your address bar. The "Stop" button should be left more than the button 'recharge' in order to get two separate buttons for these tasks. If the 'Reload' button is further to the left, then you get a single button that performs the tasks at the same time. I hope this helps.
