K299nb envy: want to extension memory to the laptop k299nb

Hello

I have ordered this laptop in a store but specified that I wanted improved to 16 GB memory.

Now, they received the laptop but just called me to say that they do not see a way to upgrade the memory (no slot?).

Since I ordered it by specifying the upgrade of memory, I have probably will refuse the item.

But somehow I can't believe that memory is not expandable?

I have searched this site high and low but can find nothing about possible improvements for this model.

Can someone tell me where I can find this info?

THX

Since no one has replied, I went ahead and disassembled the laptop.

It was indeeda second slot for memory and now I have 16 GB :-)

  • Question on the extension memory on the Satellite A80 117

I have a question about the compatibility of memory.
(The A8-117 is a Centrino 1.6 GHz (Pentuin M 730 processor) with Frontal 533 MHz bus and 2 MB of level 2, Intel® 915GM Express chipset)

At the moment I have 1 chip of 512 MB (333 MHz, 2.5 CL) installed. I intend to switch to 1.5 or 2 GB. So what bothers me is: can I install a DDR2 533 MHz modules on this laptop (in this case the old 333 MHz one out)?
Official website of Toshiba only 333 MHz DDR are provided, so that the 915GM express chipset allowes it.

If it is not possible to 533, I guess I'll just buy 1 extra GB of 333 MHz DDR.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

At first, I want to say, which is always recommended to use RAM compatible and tested modules. On this way, you will be sure that it will work well and without any problems.

According to the specifications of the laptop you can upgrade RAM to 2 GB max and compatible modules are: PC2700 512 MB (PA3312U - 2M 51) and 1024Mo PC2700 (PA3313U-2M1G).

You can use faster RAM modules, but for me it is really not necessary. The specification of the laptop is the 333 MHz bus speed and faster modules will be not useful for laptop runs faster. It is best to buy 2 x PA3313U-2M1G and you will have no problem and portable will runs much more quickly than before.

  • Extension memory on the Satellite 2410

    Hello

I intend to expand the memory of my Satellite 2410 601. It has 256 MB DDR at the present time. I plan on using a memory module 256 more to extend the total memory to 512 MB.

I want to know is whether I can use one of the DDR memory module available in the market? Is there compatibility problems?

    Hello

    You know this site?
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=5548&ft=m&St=3

Here you can find details on the compatible memory modules for Satellite 2410 601.

It seems that the laptop is able to manage the PC2100 200 pin memory (266 MHz) DDR SODIMM!
You can upgrade the memory up to 1 GB (2 x 512 MB) max

    > Are there compatibility problems?
You should generally have compatibility problems. It is only important that you use the supported modules.

  • A barrette added MEMORY makes the laptop no power up

    Howdy all

I have a T450s, I just removed the HARD drive and replaced by an SSD, works very well.

Now I want to add 8 GB for for the 12 GB max RAM, I bought this from amazon...

    Crucial 8 GB DDR3 single 1600 MT/s (PC3-12800) CL11 SODIMM 204 pins 1.35V/1.5V Notebook Memory CT102464BF160B

I think it is compatible, I talked to a girl at crucial, and she said it was. BUT... when I add, the laptop of dead acts, power button does nothing, no noise, no light, nothing.

Does anyone have any ideas or advice to help?

Too bad. I thought about it. If you plug in before power on/off, it works. Battery alone, it wouldn't. Now it starts normally.

  • the upgrade of memory in the laptop memory game

I just got a HP Envy DV6-7213NR: laptop and I noticed he has 4gigs memory generic.  I would replace that memory with memory game.  first whats the memory limit that this notebook can handle memory wise?  the laptop is running 8.1 win I was hoping to put 8 GB of kingston hyperx.  is it feasible?  Since there is an open additional memory slot

and were therefore is the best place to get memory for the price.  This will be a lapop games so I need speed so if kingston is perhaps not the corsair anaswere or another set of ram would work.  This is my first laptop and any advice you can offer would be apprecieated thx.

The following illustration shows what is compatible with your laptop.  Memory DDR3-1600 Mhz , this is what is supported by the BIOS and motherboard.  To upgrade beyond 4 GB, you will need to install a 64-bit operating system. Your laptop has no BIOS options which would have a game system that allow the installation of modules of memory (high performance) of higher bandwidth.

  • Plan to install Win'a again. & operating system on the hard drive clean. We hope to upgrade memory of the laptop later, having heard it's op system stop working.

Supposedly the installation process corrects the operating system on the computer's particular configuration and any changes cancel the operating system to function.  Dosen't seem very friendly for computer tinkering.  Having read both 1) that only the motherboard is recognized and fixed 2) or that all the components of the laptop are fixed on and nothing can be changed.  Anyone know if any of them are true? Thanxs, Steve

(Vivid RAM) memory or not should not make the installed Windows 7 from functioning.  If you change to another laptop and Windows 7 is OEM, then yes the Windows 7 will not work correctly.

I put t know why you are not able to remove this cover, but it should be fixed with one screw only and after the withdrawal of this screw, you must simply remove this cover that was placed in the middle of the lower part.

    By manual:

Install only guaranteed compatible memory modules of well know manufacturers of memory. If you do otherwise, there is a good chance of your laptop is not even of booting into Windows or cross the BIOS POST.

  • I want to increase the memory on the 2210CDS Satellite

I have an old Toshiba Satellite 2210CDS/6.0 I want to give to charity. Until I do, I wanted to increase the memory from 64 MB to 128 MB minimum, because he seems excessive paging of memory under Windows 98, it slows down a lot too.

The original 64 MB memory module is marked PC100-222-62, Toshiba p/n THLY6480H1FG-80. I ordered since equivalent barrettes memory 128 MB (PC100-222-620) from different sources. They fit well, but the memory is still limited to 64 MB, as evidenced by the page to configure the BIOS and Windows pages 'system '.
The computer has only one memory location. What I am doing wrong?

    Ruud Hartog

    Hello

This laptop is very, very, very ;) old

However, the laptop can be improved up to 160 MB. 64 MB internal memory + 128 MB additional memory module

The Toshiba recommend using these modules:
    128 MB - PA3005U
    64 MB - PA3004U

Usually after upgrading the BIOS should automatically recognize the module.

  • HP dv6 envy: want to know on the best internal hard drive to replace it with

Hi friends... I return my hp dv6 want 3 years and it has worked well for me so far, but since last month, everytime I turn on my laptop, a message is popping indicating that YOUR HARD DISK has FOUND YEAR IMMINENT FAILURE AND there NEED TO BE REPLACED and I studied a lot of posts here regarding this problem and everyone was asked to replace it with a new one. I don't know what drive should I replace it with. Could someone please help me in this regard. I need the following details:

    1. where can I find new internal hard drive HP ENVY DV6 1 to buy?

    2. can we replace this hard drive with the hard drive to other companies? (such as seaggate)... If so, so, please let me know

    3. can I replace the hard drive with a hard drive of 1 to solid state?

    4. links to vendors who sell internal hard drive?

    Please help me friends...

The answer is Yes in all areas. The laptop will accept any 2.5 inch wide disk SATA 9.5 or 7 mm thick and which includes mechanical hard drives and Solid State drives. Where are you located (one country)? Hard drives and SSDS for laptops are a part of the goods. You can pick them up at a Best Buy or Frys if you live where there are no Frys or you can use amazon.com or newegg.com or similar online service. The prices vary a lot, so it is useful to get a good deal. A 1 to SSD can run more than $300, you know. Need instructions for installing and/or migrating software? • HP ENVY 17 Notebook PC: Memory installed in the new HP envy 17 t

Software HP Support Assistant displays Kingston 8 GB 1600 MHz memory installed on my HP ENVY 17 Notebook PC. Equals this Kingston memory installed the Kingston 8 GB 204-pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) computer laptop memory model KVR16LS11/8 I intend to buy to upgrade my Envy 17 and 16 GBs?

Yes, that's the correct stuff. The Kingston can operate at 1.35 or 1.5 volt. Before the upgrade, although I advise you, you remove the RAM that is in it and watch it. Is - this 4 black memory per side or 8? Match what you have.

  • Add memory to HP ENVY Phoenix 800 - 070st - free space for the locations of memory behind the radiator.

    Hello

I ordered a HP ENVY Phoenix 800 - 070st with 16 GB of memory and is to be delivered Friday. My question is how much clearance is here to the sticks of memory in the slots behind the radiator and the radiator has to be removed for adding memory to these two locations. Will it take low memory footprint, or is there room for mem sticks with heat sinks. It won't be here until next week, if just trying to plan ahead.

    Thank you

    Bryan

    Gateb, welcome to the forum.

I can't find any warnings about any of your concerns in the specs of HP.  However, having said that, I suggest wait you receive the computer to make purchases.  HP isn't necessarily embracing third-party updates.  Memory performance with heat sinks can be very important, as you know, or you have asked the question.  Better safe than sorry.  Just my $. 02.

Moreover, it is a great computer.
