  KB972270-security update will not be installed. I checked the services.msi for windows install, automatic updates, intelligent transfer background and services of encryption to make sure that they are started and automatic mode (by microsoft chat); I disabled my AV (Endpoint), checked to make sure that all other facilities are made, and it will not be installed.   I am running Vista Home Premium SP 2. An automatic security update failed to install 12 times so far; «security update for the Windows Vista & Windows Server 2008 (KB979906).» The error code displayed is 643.   Try to download and install it manually by downloading on your desktop and install it. Insert the number to get the good update and choose the one corresponding to your version of Vista: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx

  If this does not work, try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem.   Follow the procedures described in the article.  Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall.  Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

  Safe mode is different from boot were the clean boot will help disable you any of third-party applications or starting points which is the source of the problem.
