  • Dell Dock exe "application not found" error after cleaning malware virus and fix registry problems

Hey guys!, I had a problem with malware. (In particular this Vista Internet Security * who seems to knock everyone). I fixed this problem as well as the issue with the thing of my Microsoft Security (which sets the windows Defender) and then I went through and fixed my registry problems who came later as some aftereffect of the virus. (Phew!) Now that it is finally all done I click on my dock dell to go to internet explore and BAM! "Application not found" in an area which the header indicates dell dock.exe. Now I just got through my fixing registry problems so that I have all my .exe programs can open without a problem. All other issues are resolved except this! What's wrong?! Please, someone help. (I can get Internet explore any other way, but it's not my PC and I don't want the owner to think I broke it) PS Can't do system restore I would lose my updates which are very necessary can't do a registry fix because I already did and I don't want to mess with it again is not sure if reinstall dell dock should solve the problem I just install IE9 and all my other icons in dell dock work very well

    also run the sfc/scannow command.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally madeprograms,Accessories, right-clickguest, and then clickrun as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or clickallow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions

If SFC detects the main problems it can't fix you may need to borrow a Microsoft dvd vista not an acer, HP etc. recovery disk and do a repair installation

  • Reference Dell Dock... Gone

I have a new Inspiron running Windows 7, last night I pastors a updated Java and then got the message that "the Dell Dock has encountered a problem and needs to close...". "Please talk to Dell this problem" it says an error report is created, but when I try to send the error report it is "Threr was an error please try again" at the same time, there is one box that appears telling that "Dell Dock stopped working Windows is trying to find a solution to this problem.

I tried to do a system restore, but the only date I have to restore it is this morning, and the Dock was not working at the time

I also downloaded the Dell Dock and installed it but no go...

I've never done a factory restore and don't know if the lack of the Dell dock is worth, could the update of Java have caused to this?  Someone at - it a fix for this or have any ideas?

I found this on a forum for Microsoft Windows.  AND THIS MARKET!

    In Windows 7 the file

    "C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Stardock_Corporation\DellDock.exe_Url_zerevpyj2cwvrpvdb3tli4avbxq3yq3p\2.5.0.1527\user.config.

tends to get corrupted, expecially when an abnormal termination of Windows or loaded is stuck.

Remove all the "C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Stardock_Corporation' directory and restart DellDock.

The directory will get regenerated and the program is running.

You don't need to uninstall or reinstall anything.

  • I want to stop Dell Dock d3100 Audio HDMI output.

I recently bought a d3100 dock and I use it to connect my Inspiron 13z with Windows 8.1 to multiple devices, including an HDMI monitor and stereo speakers.  It turns out that my monitor has built-in speakers and does not allow them to be disabled or cut.  They sound terrible, so I'd like to stop to send the audio signal to them.  Unfortunately, windows detects the Dell dock as a single USB audio device and I don't have the ability to send audio to the stereo output 3.5 mm without sending it also both HDMI outputs.

If anyone has a suggestion on how to use the HDMI output for video without sending audio to the speakers on my monitor, please let me know.  There are HDMI cables that have an audio connection?

Thank you, Chris.  It is not a Dell monitor that I'm connected, I use an Acer B273h.  I tried to watch the sounds-> playback settings in Windows.  The problem there is that the d3100 Dell presents itself as a single USB audio device.  There is no distinction between the 3.5 mm stereo output and HDMI audio output.

However, I found a solution.  I remembered that HDMI and DVI have the same video encoding, and also, my monitor has a DVI input.  So, I picked up an HDMI cable to DVI, which now sends only video to my monitor.

    Problem solved!

  • "Dell Dock has stopped working" - very annoying!

    MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 normal 0

    Hello

I can't tell you how much time and effort that I spend trying to solve this problem, but it seems impossible.

I bought an Inspiron 1525 laptop only 4 months ago and was very happy with the functionality of Dell Dock as it made life easier when you work with Office. It was until the Dell Dock bananas bleeding no longer works. This is quite annoying, because everytime I turn on the computer I get the error message about 5 times in a row! And when I try to send the error report I get another error! How frustrating...

I tried to get rid of it and reinstall but it won't work.

Called Dell and they told me, they offer no support for this and I would need to pay ££ for assistance.

Now it's ridiculous! I'm not asking the software, 'Geniuses Dell' decided to install this piece of defective software in my machine and now refuses to provide assistance! Shame on you Dell!

Well, if you are a user and having the same nightmare, please let me know if you have found a solution, I'll be very grateful and you can light a candle.

My husband has a Dell Inspiron Zino HD, who had the same problem.  I went to www.delldock.com.  They have a free download for dell dock.  I did the download and fixed it in this computer.  No more error Dell Dock.  It's worth a try, and it's free.  Good luck.
