KB948465 ServicePack will... install code 80004005

used to install Vista service pack 2. I proceeded to the installation of this update witch was the final version of SP2. but after start and go through step 3 of the process he says she completed 100% and that at that time there was there with a circle turning (small icon) and at the end he came out saying: Service pack has not been installed, changes back, do not turn off your computer.

The first thing I would recommend must run Microsoft fix applet which will reset the Windows Update components: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058.  Scroll to the fix it for me article, click on the Microsoft Fix it and follow the prompts.

What antivirus you have installed?  It might help to disable the anti-virus before installing SP2.  If I were you, I would like to download the SP2 directly from Microsoft (make sure you choose one that is suitable for your machine (32-bit or 64-bit)), then disable your antivirus and run the install.

Unfortunately, we do not know what Windows operating system you use, service pack level, or even what software security that you use.

Maybe you could try to manually download an update/s and installing the same if necessary in safe mode to see if the update/s settle. If they do, then it is most likely interfering program/services.

Don't even know what update/s are the cause of the problem. You can download them here:

    Hello Tallydupp, welcome.

Do you by chance have Google Desktop? Some users have reported interference problems in Winodws 7 while using an older version of Google Desktop.
Try to uninstall it if it exists.

Hi NomadBob, another thing you can try is to start the computer in a clean condition and then try to install the update. You said that you have downloaded the entire file. Unplug all unnecessary equipment (external drives etc.) which could interfere with the process of update and update offline.

In this way, is it at least will eliminate interference 3 third-party product.

Be patient, I hope a cure can be found in the future near or at least a workaround solution.

Impossible to install any DVD or windows 10, I get the error code 80004005 how to fix this?

    Try the following:

    Troubleshooting Windows Update tool:

    http://go.Microsoft.com/?linkid=9830262

Restart then try the upgrade again.

If this does not work, try the upgrade manually:

    Task of pre-required

When you make significant changes to your computer for example updated operating system, you must always back up. See the links to resources on the backup by clicking the link for each version of Windows you are using: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1

    then

    then

    • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
    • Reboot several times, and then try again.
    • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
    • If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a thumdrive device and it is connected. During the installation of Windows 10, click on the advanced custom Option and use the command load driver to load the driver for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.
    • Perform a clean boot, restart, and then try again.
    • If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both, then try to install.
    • If you are updated through Windows Update, when download reaches 100% disconnect from the LAN (Ethernet) Internet or Wi - Fi, then proceed with the installation.
    • If this does not work, try using the. ISO file to upgrade if possible.
    • If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account.
    • If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (example, game controllers, USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripherals not essential).

From my research, it seems that I'm not the only one with this problem.  However, I have Windows 7 Professional, 32-bit, with Service Pack 1.   My computer tried to install the update KB3033929 days.  I tried to install it automatically and manually.  Failed every time.  The last update, I've managed to install has been KB3035583 on 26/05/16.   It takes forever for my computer to start every day.  I'm at the end of my rope.  I need this computer for my business.

I get the error code 80004005 is.

I tried Microsoft Fixit.  I searched for help.  I'm not that know computers, so I do not understand a lot of what I read on this issue.  I need someone to tell me what to do and explain it is the way that a non computer fan can understand.

Should I try #2 method the first engineer has suggested?

-> Here that an engineer of MS has never been. Most of the respondents from these forums are voluntary (like me) Windows rather than MS employees community. They rarely use phrases that are designed to give you a feeling of warmth inside, but they try to help you solve your problem.

I suspect that the #2 method won ' help you a lot, but it's worth a try.

Method # 3 is always a good idea.

If all else fails, then I can see these options for you:

    • See if another respondent has any bright ideas.
    • Restore the windows of an image that you have possibly set while the system was in perfect working condition.
    • Disable the automatic updates altogether. The risk of getting something wrong while you follow the rules 'Safe Hex'.
    • Perform a destructive factory restore.
