  I create a page "Form on a Table with Report" (APEX 5). Table I has 3 columns: cat_key, item_value, item_description. The cat_key is a foreign key in a table with columns cat_key, cat_value. I created the report and everything works fine.  The page of the report shows my domain cat_key in number, so I want it instead to display the cat_value. I change the field cat_key to a text based on LOV, select my LOV and now when I view the page of report I get the "'ORA-01445: cannot select ROWID from where sample, a join without key preserved table view ' error." The report uses the ROWID as a link to the edit page field.

  If I use the same tables and even shared LOV in a report page interactive, it works fine.

  What I am doing wrong?

  This is a limitation of the IR Apex will rewrite your query to a query that includes the lookup table and the columns. So now you have actually created a query on an inline view, which causes the error. You can see the query apex created when running in debug mode. APEX will join the table of choice with your primary table. For example from one of my IR:

  Your other deducted display that you know the solution... create the site as a Flash site so that you don't have to reload the swf file on each new page.  It's your only option to share using a frames based site.

• Table with fixed header and the left column

  I created a table in my application with the fixed left column (left most column is fixed and remaining columns are scrolling from left to right). is it possible to create a table with fixed position and fixed left column?

  Suppose there are 50 rows and 10 columns in my paintings, and only 3 columns and 15 rows are visiable on the screen

  Approach using TablelayoutManager display single cells and scrolling would be cell at a time.  And Yes, you will need to override navigationMovement and n of methods appropriate TouchEvent your TableLayoutManager so that he knows when to fill the cells.

  Another alternative is to have four managers, we don't the the upper left corner (the dead angle), one to make the top row (column headings), one to make the left column (row headings), and the other to do the rest (data).  Place all these in a delicate header and line manager.  Only allow the user to scroll the data part.  Have the difficult Manager to listen the scroll events.  Then have the wily Manager add and remove the dummy column and header line managers as appropriate.  Note that these topic fields would not good passes, they would be either there or they would not be displayed. That would give you your 1/2 a scroll of the cell.  And you wouldn't have to substitute anything to detect movement, you would have left the listener do scrolling for you.

  There is no way to declaratively in the Apex to do this.

  In version 4.x:
  1. There is no declarative way to dynamically filter a list of values in a tabular presentation. For each line, the LOV is actually pre-built on a hidden row zero when the page first appears.
  2. to do this, you will need to come up with a process, possibly including AJAX, to fill an array of values to the selection list, delete the values in the table if they have been selected on the other lines of the page and then re - fill the selection on the new list online.

  In version 3.x:
  1 lines are stored in the database every time that you add a row (actually the page saves and repainted with a new line). You can set your LOV SQL to return the values valid less those already stored in the database that the user adds lines.
  2. However, that won't necessarily work 100% if you look at a page with several lines already on it and want to update the existing lines and you need in any case a sort of validation or a unique constraint.

  It is not impossible, but it's very very labor intensive and maintainability is more difficult if another developer a year or two down the road to inherit this page you.

  I'd really like to tell your business analyst or key functional end users what they ask for is not supported by Apex first review (and to tell you the truth, it is indeed non-supported, so you are not lying down or fake apology) and they consider like allowing more traditional validation via a unique constraint and page validation.

• How to save the table column and row headings

  I have a table where I activated the column and row headings.  Once the table is loaded with data, I would like to save the contents of the table, including the column and row headings in a text file.  The crux of "value" property returns only the content of the table, not the row and column headers.  I could use "header line chains []" and '[] column header chains' property nodes as well, but I'm in the island there is an easier way.  Looks like adding the headers of lines would be difficult.  Any ideas?

  I am trying to create a function that returns the distinct value and counts of a user defined schema/table/column.

  The code below defines a [stats_on_column_obj] object type and creates a single table of this type [stats_on_column_tab].

  The function is supposed to take three input variables: p_schema_name, nom_table_p, p_column_name and return an array (above).

  I can hardcode a select into (the)... but once I try to convert it into settings & immediate exec I'm stuck. The red section is where the problem is (I think).

  These Freeze, detach, wrap the buttons come from af: panelCollection.

  You can turn it off by setting its property featuresOff = "freezeMenuItem detachMenuItem wrapMenuItem".
