  I recently bought a HP Envy m6-1205dx laptop and I have noticed that some of the keys do not work on the keyboard. None of these special keys work under Windows or on the BIOS screen.   I have a laptop (HP dv6)

  and have a problem with the action keys (the secondary keys with f1-f12 for brightness, sound > play... etc.)

  and also the locking/unlocking of mouse area

  the problem is that when I

  I had to do a reinstall and upgrade to Windows 7, so I may have missed something. Running a 64 bit OS. Problem only appears in browsers.

  It sounds as if you should be fixed for US keyboard but are actually set to the United Kingdom. The important thing here is that this is not about where you live, it's the physical keyboard layout. The US keyboard is different in England in a few small areas that you discovered. Examples...

  2. On a UK keyboard than 3 and £ are on the same key, on the U.S. keyboard is 3 and #.

  If it came preinstalled on a new computer, it would take a COA (certificate of authenticity) sticker somewhere on the computer case. This will contain the digit 25, alphanumeric, product key.

  I'm using Windows Vista and my problem is the following.

  Even if I disable FilterKeys, whenever I start my computer, filter keys are enabled again.
  This causes me to use the on-screen keyboard to connect (my keyboard is disabled), then I have to go to control panel - easy access and disable FilterKeys. Once I disabled it, I can use my keyboard.

  You can imagine that this is really boring to do this each time I restart my computer.

  I tried to change the registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Accessibility\StickyKeys--> Flags = 507, and it did not work. (also tried value 506).

  Suspicion, support, tip will be really appreciated.

I want to delete either to the left right GOLD of the cursor. By pressing the DELETE key on Mac does remove one way, but I want the ability to delete in both directions. The Windows keyboard provides a delete key to remove to the right and a key to return back to remove to the left. So I can configure an iMac for this keyboard? My thought is to keep the delete key as it is and ADD a new function to one of the function keys to delete characters to the left. Thanks for your time and your help.

  Mac can go both ways, in case this is useful.  You can use fn more delete to delete to the right.  Also control more.

  Start safe mode and see if there are still have the problem there. Safe mode is slow and some things do not work, but it prevents some third-party boot loading software. If your keyboard works properly in Mode without fail, this would imply that some third-party software is causing the problem. If so, check the updates.

  Thank you! I tried what you mentioned, nothing has worked... I plugged a usb keyboard and it works, so I'm starting to believe it could be a motherboard problem. I finally got windows xp pro installed, no conflicts in Device Manager, all the drivers are installed and now running smooth. I removed the keyboard, and re-set, all connections look good, but still not good. the synaptics keyboard works fine and both rt & lft click the buttons. I pulled the ram to inspect it, it's the right speed, ddr2700, and after running for an hour, it was cold to the touch! I'll try to get a new keyboard and replace it, their pretty good work, if still not good it becomes pieces on ebay... lol tx again... Marty
