  • Can I use the existing Windows vista ultimate 32-bit (real) key to do a fresh install (due to errors of unrecognized class) win vista home premium 32 bit (original cd)?

Inspiron Dell 1720 2.2 GHz, 2 GB ram, Win Vista ultimate SP2.

Cannot install all programs currently due to errors of windows install. I have tried scannow in cmd which seems to close automatically in less than a second to click on enter.
I tried switching win installer services then in manual and automatic ('start' ed) with no ruling change ever to the problem. So now since I can't possibly find another solution, I'm doing a new installation of windows vista Home premium 32-bit which I did not have the keys. So the query. I would appreciate any comment how to solve this problem. Thanks in advance.

Look at the product key shown on the label on the computer.  Which edition of Windows is on the label?  If the label says Home Premium Home Premium dvd is likely a recovery disk only.  So if there is a recovery disk, so it can reinstall a new copy of Home Premium and all reset the status of the plant.  You will lose your programs and data.

If the Premium family edition dvd is a dvd retail then you may be able to do a repair on-site modernization (aka ' install fix') of Vista Ultimate with it, but please answer these questions first.

  • Keyloggers can still see what keys were used on Vista on screen key board

I used Kaspersky Pure as my safety and have changed to Microsoft Security Essenentials.  Kaspersky has a built in virtual key that Key loggers can not see what the keys have been used is equivalent to Vista Ultimate on screen key board

Unless it's a very clever keylogger, Yes. The definition of a keylogger is a program that records the keys were pressed, not not clicking. Of more, if she did open a session by clicking on, we need to know where the keyboard is to know which key you were clicking, so as I said, it would be a virus very good to do.

  • Key to series of Win Vista to 7?

    Hello

I have a laptop with Win Vista Home Edition is installed, but need to format the disk. Instead, reinstall Vista, I would like to install Win7.
This laptop has a serial key for Windows stamped in the back, which is the key to the current installed Windows.

My question is: can I install Win7 using this serial key?

    Thank you
    Pedro.

It is not possible to install Windows 7 using the Vista product key.

You can reinstall Vista with the key but not Windows 7.
If you want to use Windows 7, you might get it on the site below

    Hello @pxj,

I understand that your laptop keyboard does not work, and that your alternative keyboard does not work as well. I'd be happy to help you in this case!

As your drivers available of the system does not contain the keyboard for Windows 7 drivers, I recommend you to get a drive recovery to re - install Windows Vista on your system. This can be done by following this document on getting a HP recovery disks or USB HP recovery disc.

Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your response!

  • Question about Vista key placed on the bottom of my laptop

Hi all and sorry for my English :)

So, I have laptop X 300-11 L Qosmio. I have Win Vista HP DVD without a key. But on my laptop with Vista Home Premium Product key sticker.
I want to install another Vista, no recovery (too many "useful" programs).

How can I do? If I install my Vista DVD, laptop tell me - product key isn't ok...
    THX

You may think of the ability to remove all software pre-installed, you won't use. Nobody is forcing you to have all the. To be honest, I do the same.

Vista key located under the unit belongs to the operating system included in Toshiba recovery image that you have with your laptop. This key is not a universal key that you can use with each other DVD facilities.

  • Lenovo Y500 close unexpectedly - does not install Win vista/7/8

    Hello friends

It is Anubhav Jain of Mathura (India). I have a lenovo 3000 Y500 laptop with Win Vista Home Basic, I bought about 3 years, to 1 last year all about I am facing a problem with my laptop. The problem started when I tried to open an attachment in my email. At the time when I clicked on the file to my laptop shuts down suddenly (seems certain virus was in it). Even after trying the key recovery option, it has not begun. Then I tried to install Windows XP and it started working.

    Now the problem is

1 - when I try to install over XP is Win Vista/7/8 while in the middle of the installation, it stops. This means that it is impossible to install any other OS then XP.

    2. up to a few months back it worked fine under XP, but last month the problem began under XP also. Mean while I'm working it will suddenly off. If I try it, as soon as it shows the home screen, that would once turned off. But if I open it after some time then she start and run for a few hours.

    3. even under XP if I try to install MS Office 2007 or above the same thing occurs for example, just after the progress of the installation of small the laptop suddenly shuts off and will not let me intall Office 2007 or a later version.

Is this due to a malware or overheating of motherboard problem. I formatted the entire hard drive and tried installing after removal of partitions and making new partitions.

I ask you all to guide me please. Thank you in advance.

    Kind regards

    Dear SE Soha,

Thank you very much for your answer. I had already tried what you suggested. But not resolved. Yesterday I took my laptop hardware engineer and diagnose after he was identified as a chip in the motherboard was faulty which created this problem. After replacing the laptop started to work well. It was not a software problem, it's a motherboard problem. But the sad part is that there is not any guarantee for such repair of motherboard and next time if this same problem this laptop will have to be trashed. Rest is up to God's blessing.

Thank you very much for your support.

  • Win vista PC with 7 installed to the high grade 10

Can I install 10 free on a PC with a win 7 up grade installed vista?

I guess this offer (update free Win 7 and 8 to 10 Win) is open until July 2016.  However, I got bad to update my Win Vista 64 bit Home Premium to Win 7 64 Bit Ultimate.  Not sure I have the correct IOS DataRiver and/or do not know if I did a USB startup key.  Update takes time LOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGG and ultimately showed 3 series of errors this utility from MS update fixed everything but 1 problem (identified as "Recent updates installation problems") with no other details on the updates or what problems were found... There was a failure during update Win Explorer as he (Explorer) does not seem to be supported by Vista no more.

If I have to, I'll go through the process of updating again... hopefully a lot more quick this time!

  • HP laptop purchased with Win Vista later upgraded to Windows 7 - laptop damaged

    Hello

I bought a laptop HP with Win Vista later upgraded to Windows 7. Now, the laptop is damaged for the 2nd time. I would go for a locally assembled desktop computer with Intel, last configuration chipset.

Can I use Win Vista / Win 7 license key on my desktop? What installer I use (Win Vista or Win 7)? and how do I get the installer?

    Thanks in advance

    Best regards

    PAL

    Hello

You cannot transfer the license of Vista.

If Windows 7 Upgrade was not part of this upgrade offering free back then, you can transfer, but you need an operating system to be installed to upgrade.

Read this information and you will understand what I mean:

If the computer/laptop comes with the preinstalled Windows operating system (Dell, HP, Acer, etc.) or is licensed to OEM System Builders, that the product key that came with the computer/laptop is preinstalled OEM license and is not transferable.

OEM license/product key (systems of operating pre-installed on Dell, HP, etc.) and the license OEM System Builders are related to the first machine it is installed on and dies when machine who dies.

Only retail Operating System license that you buy and install yourself, are allowed to be transferred to another machine.

And retail licenses also can be installed on a machine at one time.

    See you soon.

  • Hard drive crashed. Want to get the Win Vista original license to new hard drive

My laptop is running Win Vista. The hard drive recently crashed. I was unable to recover the operating system. Y at - there no possibility to retrieve the activation key for the Original Win Vista OS?

    Hello

You don't give us enough information.

Vista came pre-installed (Dell, HP, atc) or have you bought a license for sale at retail?

If it came pre-installed, look for this sticker with the product key on the laptop case or in the battery compartment.

The key that would be in the operating system that is pre-installed on the drive hard WON'T help you to re - install the operating system.

    See you soon.

  • try to activate my win Vista I had on an old computer

have a new computer I want to use Win Vista on my other executed my Win Vista I upgraded to Win 7, but when I try to install the my Win Vista and try to activate it say the key to product already in use, what can I do?

    Hello

If you have upgraded Vista to Windows 7 on the old computer, the Vista license is part of the licensing process upgraded and can be installed anywhere else.

You need a Windows 7 license to install to transfer the license of Vista and it would still imply the Vista being a retail Vista license license.

If Vista is preinstalled on the old computer, Dell, HP, etc., you can not transfer in any case because it is an OEM license.

    See you soon.
